Hamlin Tree Care

Disappointed. A friend recommended that we use Hamlin Tree Care. Colby came out to look at the project in order to write up a quote; however, he never provided the quote. I followed up multiple times with no success of getting anyone to respond. If they didn’t want the work, a simple response stating that would be the courteous thing to do when we followed up umpteen times. It didn’t leave us with a good impression.

Colby did a great job up front with me discussing my needs and pricing options. The crew was great. Easy to communicate with — professional and very hard working. I will use Hamlin again in the future.

Experience started out great, but the job was left undone and incorrect. We met the crew out at our lot that AM and stated specifically where the large mulch piles should be placed and instead they placed the piles on the opposite side of our lot and right on top of the neon marker with «well» written on it. Needless to say it was on top of the well drilling site that now had to be postponed two weeks until they could get the piles moved. At long last they were going to move the piles on a Friday so when I checked in on Saturday to make sure it was done I got the below response.
«We did not my guys where there until 8 last night and called and left messages. They did not know where to move the mulch at that point there where just sitting there all on overtime so I told them to go home I could not continue us to pay them the overtime rate.»
I let him know we had no voicemails or multiple missed calls. Also, we emailed previously on where the piles should be and followed up that morning so it’s frustrating to be blamed for them not knowing where to move the piles.
We ended up having to rush last minute and find people/​rent equipment over the weekend to make sure we could get it moved in time. We let them know this and below was their response and this is where it was left. Never got a follow up. I won’t be using or recommending Hamlin Tree Care and my biggest mistake was paying in full before the mistake had been corrected.
«Honestly I spent every day of the week dealing with several people and on the weekends I don’t respond to anyone that is my time with my wife and kids. I take time off just like everyone else because I am sure you can understand the frustration I would have if I had to deal with people seven days a week as you can see it is Sunday afternoon and instead of having a nice day with my family I have to deal with a angry customer. I am sorry you are frustrated and I am glad you found someone to move the pile for you because I was taking the bobcat back to the rental place in the morning. I spent 300 dollars renting a bobcat to have the mulch moved and I sent a crew out there and I spoke with the crew at 8 o’clock on Friday night while they sat at your property so I spent probably 500 dollars trying to get it moved for you sorry it did not work out.»

They did great work and was competitively priced, Didn’t try to oversell and very satisfied including the cleanup. The trees that were trimmed look so much better and they also treated a tree that needed it.

I’ve had Hamlin twice, one for removal, and once for trimming. They clean up, they are kind, and always ask before they act. John, and Colby were both terrific. The crew worked very fast. I would recommend these folks over all others.

Long overdue review. These guys were great. We had an urgent situation where a tree was literally splitting in half. We held it together with chains and I started calling and emailed different companies to get this taken care of. I found Hamlin Tree Care on Angie’s List and also looked them up on BBB and Unilocal too. Excellent company and they did a great job. John is an arborist and also knew about city code and was able to get the tree down easily, efficiently and safely. They also trimmed some other trees and then hauled everything away. I have referred them to my friends and I will call again next year for more work!

These guys just got done with our yard. They cleaned up 8 huge trees and two little ones. Plus removed a medium tree near our house. They did an EXCELLENT job. I couldn’t be happier. They also left my entire front and back yard cleaner than when they showed up this morning to start working. My trees look beautiful and healthy. It was no easy job for these fellas either. The worked methodically and professional. They clearly understood proper tree care. Thank you!

John was terrific in helping us understand which trees need to be trimmed, which should come down, and which were worth saving. Add in very competitive pricing and we couldn’t be happier with our choice.

John provided excellent service and was extremely personable and accommodating to my, ahem, detail oriented requests. John took care of three of my properties in a timely fashion. He did good work, communicated well, and was pleasant. I would recommend him again.
