Shane came out, on time, to give me a bid on trimming live oaks and securing long limbs so they don’t snap off in winds. His price was fair and I asked him to do the work at his next availability. He came out, on time, on schedule and worked all day on those trees in 106 degree heat. He spent the good part of 6 hours out there. Work was done well including the clean up. Highly recommend. It’s good to find contractors that do what they say and do it on time.

Shane did an amazing job on our tree filled lot in Oak Hill. He took his time pruning some aged bad cuts and explaining how to properly treat the trees’ root systems to ensure long term growth. Shane is affordable, knowledgeable and works diligently without outsourcing his labor. Will use him again!!!

Shane came and bid doing a «roof clearance» per my inspection report when I sold my house. Decent bid, good solid work. Would def hire again. And he’s a certified arborist who doesn’t farm out his work to inexperienced workers. I like having confidence in the credentials of people I hire.

***** Shane, the owner, just trimmed the oak limbs away from my roof today. I chose him because he is a certified arborist, located in my area of town, and had a very positive online review from a long-​term customer. I liked that he was on time for the estimate, did the work the same day, charged a reasonable fee +tax, and the trimmed trees looked great. He cleaned everything up and hauled away the limbs. He cares about the health of the trees, trimming off the whole branch to shorten them, not just chop them off.

Apex gave me a good quote so I called them back to schedule a service call. His first available date was 2 weeks away so I went ahead and booked it. He couldn’t make it on that day, but he called and let me know that something came up and then followed up a few days later. He came over on Saturday morning and went straight to work. He cleaned up my damaged tree in the back and trimmed up a tree in the front (that I didn’t even ask him to trim).
There are a lot of choices in Austin as far as arborists go, with varying personalities and pricing. Ultimately what I liked about Shane (Apex) was that he was flexible with a pricing plan that would work for us over the next few months, ie do $ 1000 worth of work now or break it up over time. He worked really hard and was super easy to deal with.
I definitely recommend Apex — call em early though, he’s booked up well in advance.
