Been here twice. Dine in has long wait in the evening, 40 minutes to 1 hour but they take ur cell # to alert you when your table is ready so we went across the street to catch a local concert. The wait is worth it. Friendly accommodating staff n great pizza! Crowded energetic atmosphere with good music track playing in background, luv this place!

It was so good we came twice in less than a week. Order by the slice or in whole pies, also have meatball subs and standard Italian dishes, as well as garlic bread and lovely salads. Prosecco by the glass was reasonably priced. Outside seating out back(with its own bar out there) and great service. We came on a night they were offering their deep dish style and it was PHENOMENAL. Very chilled out atmosphere that feels very cozy, taverny and University town favorite-y. It was just really welcoming and we never waited for a table, unlike other spots on this busy strip.

I’ve been hearing great things about this place from many Austiners, so I finally gave it a try. They were right! I can’t express myself enough with this pizza!!! I just got a slice of Margherita to test it out and oh my god… It gave me the most satisfying feeling when I took the first bite. The tomato sauce was PERFECTLY done and the cheese was just the right amount. I kept staring at the people who continuously made pizza in the back and kept taking more bites until it was all gone. Mmmm… can’t wait to go back for more! Returning very soon!

AMAZING!!! One of the best pizza places in Austin! There are two locations. One strictly for pick up. Super fast service.

Who knew a slice of pizza could hit the spot?! We all needed something to tie us over between the weeding ceremony and the reception. This pizza looks and tastes like the thin crispy pies you would find in the streets of NYC: thin and unpretentious. You’ll eat it in a crowded standing room only counter. Two thumbs up!

Meh. I am spoiled by really good pizza. I think maybe there aren’t many pizza joints, so this becomes elevated to God status in Austin? The ambience is nice. We were lucky that we got a seat right before a line started forming. We were on the back patio and then people that were eating for tables were able to hang out near the back patio. It is a little bit of an awkward set-up because people were then sitting close by and staring at us while eating. Which is really quite weird. Our server just really seemed like he did not want to be there. Apathetic. Ordered the slice of the day and it had ricotta and broccoli on it. An underwhelming slice unfortunately and maybe I should have had a different slice. Too bland.

Yep, NY style alright. It’s that tiny crunch and chew in the crust. Clean bites. Nicely done. NY style seating too, heh! Small place but we made it work.

I was expecting a bit more from HOMESLICE, a restaurant considered to be Austin’s pizza staple. I had the Eggplant pizza and the Ricotta cheese, Red pepper & Sausage pizza. — The pizzas are large, thin crust, doughy and relatively tasty. — The ricotta cheese is bland and overloaded, and the sausage meat tastes like nothing. The thin sliced marinated red peppers and the base cheese saved the boat. — The eggplant pizza is made with what seems to be dried eggplant skin and looks like sausage meat. Not that tasty, I’ve seen/had better. The pizzas are decent, but not mind blowing. The tomato base could be more generous and the white pizzas could be creamier. The quality of the ingredients do not reflect the amount asked for: 35 dollars + Tip for a Large pizza, coffee and an Iced Tea. Overall, I would say it’s a decent place in case of an emergency such as hangover food.

I hate pulling the«I’m from New York City» card, but I am and you should listen to me when I talk about pizza. This is good pizza, this is actually great pizza. My boyfriend(who is from Connecticut, another state of insanely good pies) declared this pizza to be in his top 5EVER, and I didn’t even consent to get pizza with any meat on it. I guess you would have to know him, but for a veggie pie to make it into his top 5 all time favorite pizzas, it has to be a pretty special slice. This place has got it.

Pretty good pizza. More of a 7⁄10 star review. Only thing I don’t like is the crust tastes like absolutely nothing, and that it’s more expensive than any place I’ve ever been to: I spent 30 on a large pizza. It’s a thin crust pizza though so it’s healthier for you than any other pizza you can get so I will give it that. Will definitely keep coming back.

It was either the drinking from the night before or just plain hunger that made this place so bomb. Either way it saved me and my squad the agony of being on a wait list at another restaurant. We ordered a large pie with just pepperoni. Everyone got a slice. I have never had a pizza slice so hot juicy and melting in a long long way. It was one of the best decision made that day. So if you’re stuck waiting in long lines on Congress and the food trucks ain’t your thing. Stop by home slice. Grab a slice. Best appetizer you’ll get around.

It’s strange to say this, but the pizza here is as good as any of the best from New York or New Jersey… Which is strange as its in Austin Texas. The last place I’d expect it. This is some of the better pizza in the world. So if you want some and you LOVE pizza go to Home Slice. I’ll be back.

Friday night is crazyyyyyy! Long line for dine in. Take out and eat somewhere else will be a good idea. Cheese and margarita are great! The tomatoes in margarita is sour and fresh. I want to try pepperoni next time!

Yum. My sister and I came here for lunch en route to the airport as I headed back out of town in January, and it was delicious. So good that we went back for seconds — split. We tried the sausage pizza(and mushroom? can’t remember…) and the Margherita. Both were delicious. Best of all: BIGRED. DIDYOUKNOWITSTILLEXISTS?!?

Several trips to Austin and this was my first time trying the infamous Home Slice. I refused to stop by this joint because at the end of the day pizza is pizza, but man was I wrong. After some convincing by my sister, I decided to check it out on my last night at SXSW. We got a Large Margherita and a Large White Clam. We called in about 40 minutes earlier to place the order and got stuck in traffic, and we were about 15 – 20 min late. So when we got home, the pizza got a little cold. However that didn’t take away from the flavor. The Margherita will make you forget there isn’t even any meat on there. It’s packed with so much flavor in the sauce that it fulfills all of your taste buds. The White Clam was my favorite! It had that strong clam taste and a delicious Alfredo sauce that follows. I recommend squirting some lemon juice on top(which is provided) for a more fresher taste. I’m not a cold pizza lover, but it was still delicious. I can’t imagine how good it would have been fresh off the oven. This is a must stop by joint when in Austin.

My boyfriend and I went to Austin Valentine’s Day weekend and he raved about this pizza since he used to live in Austin. I’m from the NY/NJ area so believe me I know my pizza. I can honestly say this us the closest NY style pizza I’ve tried thus far in Texas and I have tried several(at least in the DFW area). I like this pizza because its thin, but not too thin, and not greasy at all. I’d even say it’s better than some NE pizza since it’s not that greasy. They even gave my boyfriend a free cookie because he was there the first weekend it opened. We got two large pies and they were gone by the end of the weekend. Definately coming back here next time we come to Austin.

Considering home slice has over 2300 reviews, I can only echo how delicious the pizza is here. Cool spot located In a hip area. Make sure you go to the sit down home slice, I made the mistake of walking into the express but found my way. Came on a Friday afternoon and only had to wait 15 minutes or so, which was not bad at all. The slices are huge! I would recommend reading the proper way to eat the pizza because for some reason it just taste that munch better when you fold that bad boy. I liked the margarita & the sausage garlic as well. The pepperoni was very average in my opinion. The prices are pretty fair too. Home slice has some solid pizza and lives up to its reputation!

The #1 true and tried pizza was delicious, end of discussion. Therefore, it was yummy because it burned the top of my mouth and that I finished strong with 4 slices. I don’t even do that with most Pizza Hut slices, I only eat 2 slices and I’m full. But, not with Home Slice; get this the slices had fresh Roma tomatoes not that disgusting acid-reflux red sauce, thick pieces of mozzarella, thin strips of basil and not the sweet kind either. The crust was of course thin, but it wasn’t bitter nor sweet. It was lightly dusted with bread crumbs. though not as soft as I wished. I was still satisfied. I’m just glad the pizza wasn’t plastered in grease! After waiting in line for an hour and half I was already hangry and not very happy dealing with my pissed off mum. As soon as I listened to 3 songs via my iPod that hour quickly turned to 25 minutes and thank goodness we were in the door. The atmosphere is loud and makes you think of that Miracle Whip commercial where the guy is eating at that diner and the server puts a glop of whip in the coleslaw. yeah, that commercial. Anywho, I didn’t order water since it was $ 3; that’s ridiculous. I got the mint and honey tea which came in a bottle and a cup with ice. Such a refreshing taste! The pizza must be dang good, I’d seen one chick eating off the ground outside. She wasn’t no homeless person either. just enjoying a slice. I wouldn’t mind visiting this place again. My brother sure does have good taste. he recommended it. Also, a shoutout to our waitress Rihanna she was attentive and friendly. I’m just glad she bought out our pizzas in a timely quick manner!

The Unilocalers have called this place. 2k reviews with 4.5 stars has to be heart. They have a take out store next door. The place looks as though They just added to their original building as expansion dictated until they had too take the next door building. Our server said they are planning a New location in Hyde park. The pizza is amazing, one of the best I’ve had in austin. They serve a traditional pie baked to perfection. We had a half eggplant parmesan and half pepperoni with sliced Italian sausage rather than crumbles. Im sure anything you get would rock it. Our service was Great. We really appreciated the experience. I really like this location. The area around it is nostalgic and bursting with activity. Great for people watching. I’m Sure you won’t be disappointed,
