Jiffy Lube

Pretty good experience here, I zipped in and out within about 30 minutes. Prices are comparable to Goodyear and it’s definitely in a convenient location (although they probably compete head on with Newberry Automotive). Be careful of the upswell and you should be in and out in a Jiffy :)

The staff is courteous here and the service is quick. I would say that the level of service here is definitely better than other locations.

So heres something interesting, despite reading the bad reviews on Unilocal i went ahead and went because I’m way behind on my first oil change in my new Chevy coloraydo. Well, after sitting in the waiting room I happen to look up at the guy changing the oil next to my car, his oil gun gets completely out of control… it starting spraying oil everywhere at a surprisingly high velocity like a mini out of control fire hydrant. Well I was so lucky to have my truck parked next to it with the windows down and it completely covered my truck and the interior. Now they took my truck to get it detailed… still waiting. I can’t wait to see if they charge me, if so the manager will be getting a call from corporate I can guarantee that!

I recently got an oil change here, first of all don’t believe the 27.99 $ deal, there’s always more charges. Second of all, I had a bottle of cologne that my mother gave me before she died in my center console, it’s been there for a year and two months now. Driving off the lot after the oil change I realized it was gone. Seriously? It’s not even expensive cologne, very sentimental and I will be going back soon to find it.

I’ve been to several Jiffy Lubes around Austin and this was by far the worst. My Toyota Camry ’10 uses Full Synthetic oil which doesn’t require as many frequent changes as other oils, probably every 6 months or more. Had my car oil changed in April and visited this Jiffy Lube in August (four months time in between).
There was a scraping sound that came suddenly from the bottom of my car while I was on the road. Since I was in the area, came to this location to diagnose the problem. Turned out to be a loose skid plate which they propped back in place at no charge but then one of their employees began pressuring me about an oil change, with a condescending tone that was suggestive of «How can you not know that you need to change your oil right now?»
Ignorant as I was then about my car’s oil requirements, I hesitated telling him I didn’t even think I had the money but agreed since he made it seem I absolutely needed it. On top of that, at checkout, he tacked on a $ 3 donation/​coupon book that I did not ask for, and without my knowledge.
So by all means, use this location if you’d like to be stolen from and pressured into purchasing services you don’t need. Also noticed they attend to customers differently based on appearances so ladies, wear your revealing attire, or men your suits if you’d like special treatment.

I had a good experience here. I arrived at 6:55 AM and was first in line. As a matter of fact, no one came in the whole I was there. Mechanic that did my work was a good guy and I didn’t feel like anything sneaky was going on. My bill was a little on the high side but I have a big truck and it needed a lot.

Was told that to change my back differential fluid on a 2003 ford explorer that it would be about $ 100. UHM, what?
Was told by a mechanic friend that it should be around $ 40 at most, and Jiffy told me my friend didn’t know what he is talking about (this friend happens to go to UT for mechanical engineering, after being a mechanic for 15 years… I would trust any vehicle in his hands.)
It gets better.
So we (boyfriend and myself) politely decline and ask to leave because we would do it ourselves, then was approached by the OTHER assistant manager that they don’t have the right equipment, it is not a stock drain. Dafuq?! Have had this car since it was new and nothing has been modified to my knowledge, and it’s a damn ford explorer, it’s as basic as it gets. Homeboy says it’s some special type of drain plug. Other guy who is offering to do it casually says «I was just going to drain it from the front»
Allllright… This is the guy who says that my friend doesn’t know what he is talking about?
Took it to the chevron down the street, bam, only $ 40. (And was informed it is the most common type of rear diff drain.)
TLDR; jiffy says it will cost an arm and a leg, and then an assistant manager mentions they can’t even do it after a declined offer to service it… Go to chevron service station just a few hundred yards east…
Dishonesty and ignorance at it’s best.

Will never go there again. Worst customer service. Called to make appointment and described coupon. Got there and showed coupon to first guy. Inside showed coupon to second guy and put in info to computer. When paying, last guy says we do not take this coupon. (Their own coupon) Total bait and switch. It was the assistant manager.
First and last time their. Don’t trust these guys.

Fastest oil change ever. I went in on lunch hour assuming I’d have to wait forever to be seen, then it would take awhile. I’m not exaggerating, I was in and outta there in less than 20 minutes. I even got a vaccum, air, fluid top off, etc.
SUPER friendly staff!

Long story short: I have to spend a lot of money replacing my oil pan because Jiffy Lube stripped its threads. And they won’t pay for it.
About a year ago I went there and they said my oil pan threads had been stripped by the previous Jiffy Lube job up on Parmer. Bee Caves said they had to put in this temporary plug, go up and have Parmer fix it right. I go up there, they say no problem, we’ll fix it with this longer threaded plug. I’m happy, until almost a year later I try to change my own oil and see a temporary plug still there! So I go to Parmer and ask where is the long plug that should have fixed it? They say go to Bee Caves. So I get the runaround, nobody will fix a very damaged oil pan, and I’ve left three messages with the district manager Mike Chegwidden (512−731−4625) who will not return my calls.
My car is clearly screwed up by one Jiffy Lube or the other and they point the fingers at the other and give me the runaround!
I’ll go to my mechanic from now on, once he fixes the Jiffy Lube damage, probably $ 1,000 later.
I would not recommend Jiffy Lube.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First, I purchased synthetic oil for my oil change and they came out with some old big plastic container with about 15 quarts of oil in it and poured it in my car. When I asked what brand of oil it was and where it came from the guy said he couldnt tell me. Then, another technician walked around and showed me some type of A/​C filter. He described the filter as «dirty and had all types of rat droppings in there» as if I had a rat problem in my car? I asked to see where he pulled the A/​C filter from in my car and he couldn’t point it out!!! He had used a fake filter to try and sell me a new one. I am 100% positive that it was fake because it is NOT easy to extract the A/​C filter, it takes a lot of time unscrewing parts out of the dash and I was there no more than a few minutes before he showed me «my dirty filter» — I later got home and replaced the filter myself only to realize it was a completely different shape and size than what he had showed me, and mine did not even need to be replaced.
This place is scamming people and it needs to be recognized. DO NOT GO HERE

Signature Service — HAH. I went in specifically asking just for an oil change… nothing else. Then the upselling begins. «Sir can I have you step to this terminal and go over the service?» Knowing that I had already topped off the wiper fluid and adjusted my air pressure the day before, I still agreed to all the other fluids in what I expected was the cost on the screen. Of course I’ll get $ 10 off he says.
So they show me a screen for $ 70 and with $ 10 off I’m expecting with tax somewhere about $ 66. Oh no sir, there is $ 30 for the signature service. Hmmm… that service did not do anything. I asked them to recheck the tire pressure because it needed to be at ³¹⁄₃₄ F/​R. After two tries they still neglected doing it right. They washed the windows… well except for the handprint that was left on one. I really do hope the other fluids were topped off… I guess I’ll go check to make sure.
Don’t waste your time. Drive a bit further or find a local service station that actually values customers instead of treating them like ATMs.

Incredibly quick and friendly. I think I was in and out within 7 minutes.
Gave plenty of service recommendations based on my personal service profile (without being too pushy).
They also complimentary washed my windows and vacuumed the interior.
Overall its a bit pricey without a coupon but definitely my new go-​to place for an oil change.

My husband and I came in to get our oil changed and tires rotated. We were very surprised not only by how fast they got it done, but their quality and service. The waiting room was very comfortable and it was the least painful oil change we have ever made!

I took my car here on my lunch break. It is not my usual place but I was behind on getting my oil changed and needed it done quickly so I chose this location because it is near my office.
Positives — My car was being worked on within 5 minutes, they changed my oil quickly and I did not have any future problems.
Negatives — they try to up-​sell everything!!! Even with a 15% off coupon it was still the most expensive oil change I have ever gotten. and… THEY SCRATCHED MY PAINT AND DENIED IT! One of their free services is a window wash, which I didn’t really need since I had washed my car 2 days before. They used a rag on a buffing tool and there were small circular scratches on the right side of my back window, and on my trunk (just below the back window). When I went back (less than an hour after I left) they denied everything, saying the paint damage was already there. It wasn’t, I know every (ok, all 2) blemish on my car and it definitely was not there before. How can I be so sure? Because I had opened and shut my trunk earlier that morning!
I will not be returning, a 10 minute oil change is convenient but I would rather wait 30 minutes and not get new damage to my vehicle.

Oil change in 10 minutes? Yes, please!
I came here after work today and was very impressed with how quickly they looked at my tires (light came on for being low) and do an oil change. I don’t know about the rest of you, but in my past the standard was about 45 minutes. I would highly recommend this place to anyone living in the area.

Worst service I have ever received.
I went in for a routine oil change and was told my air filter needed to be changed. I agreed and in 10 minutes my car was ready to go.
Within the hour my check engine light came on and I returned to Jiffy Lube to make sure nothing happened during the oil change. Turns out the air intake hose had been messed up during the air filter change — but they offered to replace it for free saying the part would be there in 5 days.
Sounded good. It wasn’t.
5 days later I called to see if the part was in — and was told it would be there in 5 more days.
5 days after that I call in, and am told it will be there the following Monday.
I go in the following Monday and am told that the Manager had picked up the part, but had to leave town suddenly and accidentally took the part with him. But he should be back in two more days.
Call back in two more days, Manager says they need my vin number to order the part.
… Which means the last four things they told me were all lies.
I call in to corporate and complain, get a call the next day saying they miraculously were able to get my vin number and get my part in.
Dealing with slow service is one thing, but dealing with a business that outright lies to you is another. I will never go here again nor do I recommend anyone else does.

I went here based on their Unilocal reviews and was very happy. In and out under 15 minutes with no upsell attempt.

As a rule of thumb, I stay away from car service chains — local shops generally perform better service — but I gave these guys a chance and I was extremely impressed. Friendly staff, fast service and a comfortably waiting room in case there is a wait. They even vacuumed out my car while the oil was being changed.
Now they are a chain, so you do still have to go through the up-​sale tactics, but there is no pressure and they’re very easy going. On the flip-​side of that criticism though, they asked if I wanted to rotate my tires ($ 20 — fair price) and it turns out I really did need a tire rotation — a win-​win.

I find this shop to be relatively fast and convenient. Although they will try to sell you every service available, I usually keep it to a standard oil change and get out in no time flat. While they may not be the cheapest, they are fast and more convenient than most other shops I’ve been to (e.g. Lamb’s, Goodyear, Newberry Automotive).
This shop also gets props for redoing my rear differential service when another shop noticed the fluid was still quite dirty only 1,500 miles after the service. I called Adam and was told no problem if I brought it in. No cost, no quarrel. Out of there in 5 minutes!
