We hired Cristin and Kennedy Weddings to coordinate our April 2014 wedding at one of Austin’s most sought-after but notoriously challenging venues, Laguna Gloria. Admittedly we are a very perfectionist and overachieving couple with sky-high expectations for everything we’re involved in. Cristin was the only person we interviewed who could keep pace with us. We knew immediately that we wanted to hire her. We were looking for more than day-of coordination, but not full-blown concept development, and she was the only wedding planner we met who understood intuitively how to provide that level of service. She was professional all the way. I never got the feeling that she was trying to upsell me on anything, or trying to force me into booking her own preferred vendors. We had chosen most vendors ourselves already, but I did go with her recommendations for a rental company, lighting company, and florist. Every vendor she recommended was as professional and attentive as she was, which was a huge value-add for me since I didn’t have to navigate Unilocal to find quality vendors in my price range. The KW staff were all pros as well — Cristin brought 4 people with her to Laguna the day of our wedding, and they did exactly what we wanted them to do — kept everything running smoothly without bothering us or our mothers for anything. They aren’t hovering in the background of our professional photos. They weren’t barking orders at our guests. In fact they blended in so seamlessly that many guests either didn’t realize they were there, or thought they were wedding guests! Finally, I have to commend Cristin for solving many last-minute crises that popped up. She was able to locate an ADA ramp for a wheelchair-bound guest less than 24 hours before the wedding, and she ran a lot of interference with the extremely rigid venue staff throughout the planning process. We’d book KW again, for a wedding or for any other event with extremely complex logistics. They didn’t forget a single detail.
