The falafel pita’s were amazing. Pork tacos. .. awesome. All ingredients were fresh and the weekly rotation of desserts were all pleasing. Loved this place. Thank you for bringing Lizzie’s Lunchbox to the NW. Enjoyed the experience! Taxes and regulations. .. That’s for another blog!

I’ve done it again. This is the fifth establishment(of my nine total reviews) which has closed shortly after my Unilocal review. Sorry Lizzie’s, thanks for the great food. I will feel very ambivalent about reviewing anything I enjoy in the future.

Great trailer in North Austin. The cookies are to die for. The pork sandwich is the thing for me to get. No idea why she wouldnt just re locate. Great spot would be next to Hey cupcake. You will be missed!

I went back for the Tex-Med Mango Pork tacos today and was sad to see that this was Lizzie’s last week in business(except for event catering). And the tacos were still delicious, I am very sad I will never have another one again. :-(Lizzie, please come to Cedar Park Farmers Market sometime!!!

Light but filling, fresh and crunchy. If you go to arbor car wash or the blockbuster give it a try. Overall its very healthy.

Who can resist a pink trailer served by a beautiful lady who could have been an actress in a wholesome family show of the 60s? I definitely could not. The trailer is located next to Blockbusters and Arbor Car Wash on Jollyville Road. Lizzie’s menu is simple — pita wrap, taco, hummus, bottled drinks and a special of the day. Since it was my first visit, I chose the chicken pita wrap with pita chips and red pepper humus(for and extra $ 2). The pita itself was basic, but the filling was delicious! The chicken was juicy and the grilled marks imparts a great bitter flavor which is balanced by the acidic dressing and feta cheese. The lettuce and onions were very fresh and gave the wrap a nice crispy texture. The pita chips tastes like Stacy’s pita chips at the store and the red pepper hummus needed a little more salt. Overall, this is a great stop for picking up some fresh food. Food is not cheap, but the quality rivals any good sit down restaurant. There are picnic tables next to the trailer, but I didn’t find sitting in a parking lot next to a car wash while cars were pulling in and out very pleasant. Also, they have a loyalty punchcard for your smartphone.

I work down the street from this trailer and when I want some thing fresh to eat I know to head over to Lizzies. I have had their salads as well as their Med Tex wraps with chicken. They typically have a few specials like todays special was pulled pork tacos with a mango jalapeño salsa. I’m always tempted by the specials but I typically stick with the salad and wrap. In the wrap there is plenty of crunchy romaine, cucumbers, jalapenos, tomato’s, feta and kalamata olives wrapped in a soft warm pita. The salad is just as good just not wrapped in the pita(it is actually cut up on the side). The only complaint that I have is that for $ 3 extra you can get chicken on the salad, and the last 2 times I have ordered it the chicken was the equivalent of a small chicken tender cut into 3 pieces and was on the dry side. Not worth the extra $ 3 charge. When I first started going to Lizzies, I know I was given more chicken so hopefully this won’t be a typical occurance. If it is I will have to bump them down a star because the extra charge isn’t worth it for what you get. I have also had the hummus which is very tasty and the tabbouleh is just as good.

A coworker noticed this bright pink trailer and mentioned it to me. It was within walking distance of work, and the website pointed at many delicious options not normally found in a trailer. We decided to grab food during the busy day«to go» and made the decision to try the place. I don’t know who Lizzie is — whether she’s the one we saw busily preparing food inside the trailer, or some other random namesake — whoever she is they can cook. I had one of their pulled pork sandwiches and could not have asked for a more perfect flavor. The bread(bun? Roll?) was toasted nicely, but still soft, and the pork itself was flavorful and plentiful. The sandwich alone, with no sides, was enough to fill me up comfortably. If the other options on the menu match this quality, I will definitely return. It’s nice to know there’s good food nearby instead of just overblown, tasteless food Mexican restaurants.(I’m looking at you, Manuels.)

I stopped by for lunch today and had a great experience. I had the falafel pita and a peppermint whoopie pie. The food was great, very fresh, and their prices are good. I’m glad to see a food truck in North Austin, and I’m glad to have a quick, inexpensive choice for a vegetarian lunch, too. I’ll be back!

Had lunch here the other day… Funny how I live down the road and haven’t stopped by. Doesn’t help that they close at 2pm, so it’s hard to give it a try. Hey, that rhymed! But, I worked from home that particular day, so I took it as an opportunity to try this place out. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich for my Kiddo, which he really enjoyed. I swear, I think it was even creamy, which is awesome! I ordered a $ 5 black bean and jalapeño hummus wrap, and tell you what… it was delish! The pita bread was fresh and after I was done, I wanted another wrap. For $ 2, I also ordered the Soup(it was the minestrone). You can tell it was fresh, as well. I like to eat soup a day after it’s been made, to really let those ingredients seep into the veggies. Today’s soup was pretty average. Again, very fresh though. I also ordered the chocolate cupcake with cream cheese filling. Perfection, y’all. The creem cheese filling even had little chocolate chips inside… mmm. I give Lizzie props for locating her food truck where it had a chance to really stand out. Give it a try, if you’re in the neighborhood. Makes for a great fresh & healthy option :)

Good eats for not a lot of moolah. I stopped by here after my lunch shift. Their sign that they were open til 2(which I read after I’d ordered). So, I guess if you’re lucky, Lizzie will still be around at 3pm, and will happily make you some deliciousness. I like the idea of Tex-Med. The Jalapenos were a nice touch, though they got lost a little bit in the other flavors since they were fresh. It’d be interesting to see how pickled ones worked. As I’m a fan of Sriracha, I added my own at home and it mixed well with the other flavors. Surprisingly, though, it had decent heat on its own. Well done. I’ve said before that I’m not a huge fan of the flattened falafel concept. I like my balls, thank you very much. That being said these were between pucks and balls, and they didn’t have that prefabricated look to them, nor were they dried out. At $ 5(7 with tip), it was a tasty treat. I look forward to trying a few other things on their menu sometime.

Since I’m apparently now the duchess of this place after discovering it three weeks ago, I feel like not writing a review would be remiss of me. Over these past three weeks I’ve been here for lunch FIVE times, although one of those weeks I was in California and sadly, could not get my Lizzie’s fix. While I agree with Errol that there are a ton of great places in the Arboretum area to eat lunch, it’s hard to top Lizzie’s Lunchbox in its three defining(to me) categories: cheap, FAST, and relatively healthy. Their regular menu is fairly small, but I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried. I’ve had the greek salad, the lamb pita wrap, and the chicken pita wrap. I’ve also had several different kinds of hummus(I like the avocado more than the roasted red pepper) and the tabbouleh(I LOVE the tabbouleh — I could eat it by the gallon!). I can’t wait to try their falafel; that’s next on my list. Today I tried to order the cedar plank smoked salmon, since they are only serving it on Fridays now, and it was sadly sold out — but the lovely lady who always takes my order(Lizzie?) kindly threw in a salted chocolate cookie to assuage my sad heart and salmon-less belly. The cookie was *delicious,* and I’m a total choco-chip cookie snob. They usually have at least one(sometimes two) specials every day, and those are where I really get excited. From their specials board I’ve tried a turkey and cranberry sandwich on warm pita(I love their pita), a lentil/sausage/spinach soup, a creamy chicken rice soup, a roasted tomato soup, and KILLER pumpkin whoopie pie with cream cheese filling. I have an immense and sometimes irrational love of pumpkin-flavored things, and I could have eaten about 20 of those whoopie pies. they were MHMGASMIC. The ladies mentioned something about making a December version with chocolate and mint filling and I HOPE they were being serious! To me one of the major perks of this place is how fast it is — I work a block away and if I call ahead they have my order ready in less than 5 minutes. Even walking up and ordering is quick! Since I haven’t really had the time to take leisurely lunches lately, I appreciate how fast Lizzie’s is and how nicely they package things for takeout. I think the prices are actually very, very fair, considering a freaking salad at La Madeline will run you $ 9.73 and $ 8.60-something at Jason’s Deli(I would know). At Lizzie’s I can get a healthy, filling lunch for $ 8 or under and that makes my wallet grateful. You know you have a new favorite place when you are looking forward to next Monday’s specials. Personally, I’ve got my fingers crossed for the return of that manchego/pear grilled cheese that people were raving about in other reviews! :)

Hmmmm. Let me start with what I like about this place: The actual Lizzie herself is a cool person, they take their food seriously here, I didn’t see any pre-made microwaved crap, I like her salted chocolate chip cookie, and I’m big on the notion you get what you pay for — I didn’t notice anything here overpriced for the amount of prep and ingredients involved. Now here’s what bothers me slightly about this place: It’s a trailer that’s only open three hours a day. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that — it’s probably the very best method for them to be efficient, effective, eco-friendly, and whatever — but it’s also a narrow window to catch me in a hummus mood, and if it’s too hot or uncomfortable outside, I’m just not going to be your biggest fan of trailer dining, regardless of how good it is. When it comes to eating out, I’m big on my own personal comfort levels. The bottom line is I like Lizzie’s Lunchbox, I think it’s a fun and yummy place, and I’m definitely a fan. But there are also lots and lots of places around this Arboretum/Great Hills area where the two of us can enjoy a lunch together, so I’ll just wait and let you tell me what kind of food mood you’re in.

i finally made it to lizzie’s lunchbox today. i’ve been intending to go for a couple of weeks now. i was pretty disappointed. i ordered the cedar planked salmon and a bowl of roasted butternut squash soup. everything smelled delicious. the butternut squash soup, however was made with bacon. chunks of bacon floating around everywhere in it. gee, thanks for making me spend 4 bucks on soup only to not be able to eat it because you didn’t indicate on your menu that there was bacon in it. side salad was fine, typical greekish style salad, but really if you mess up a salad you might just want to buy tv dinners. tabouleh was good but not fabulous. it needed more lemon and a lot more parsley and garlic. if you want to call it tex-med, then you better throw some flavor in there, missy! cedar planked salmon — well here’s a first. «wild alaskan salmon encrusted with crushed peppercorns, herbs and spices brushed with a honey glaze.» please tell me where it says«we cook this the day before and put it in the fridge. then you can come order some from us and we will serve it to you cold». gee, i sure love me some dried out day old 40 degree salmon. sad times, i feel like i wasted $ 14 that i could have spent on two truck meals elsewhere.

i think the other greek/med/persian food places in this area taste much better; even the chains are better — the lamb was really dry and had no taste. i should have tried their non Mediterranean items like the pulled pork or the salmon — those appear to be best sellers. the hummus sucked. the tabbouleh was ok — but something was off. i described to my co-worker that it was like some WASP version of Mediterranean food. maybe they should rethink their concept abut being tex-med.

I’ve always said Austin seriously lacks good greek/mediterranean food… so I was very pleased to see a greek food trailer open up in my hood. the food is delicious, and the service is great. It’s definitely a place we’ll be going back too. The only complaint I have is it’s a little pricey for a food trailer. We spent 20 bucks on two small entrees and a scoop of hummas… we were a little sticker shocked, but the good food made it somewhat worth it. I think of it as more of a snack place and less of a serious meal place.

I was on my way to Yogertz for lunch when I spotted this bright pink new trailer in front of the Arbor Car Wash with an awesome tree covered wood deck with picnic tables! Of course I had to check it out and was not disappointed! I had a hard time deciding from several yummy sounding fresh Mediterranean inspired menu items and was not disappointed with my choice. The Cedar Plank Smoked Salmon was a small portion of peppercorn encrusted nicely seasoned Salmon over a fresh tasty tabbouleh salad with a small side salad of romaine, cucumber, tomato, red onion, feta and jalapenos in tangy yogurt sauce. At 8.50 for such a small serving I am sure some would complain about pricing. I prefer to not have food comma after lunch so thought the portion was perfect and I have no problem paying more to support local businesses who purchase local produce. The Proprietress was so passionate about her healthy fresh food I am already looking forward to my lunch next week when I work down the street!

I was so happy to be able to get my lunch on the run at a place that is convenient, fast, and FRESH! The smoked salmon plate was amazing. Lizzies offers awesome and unique flavors on her menu. I highly recommend this lunch truck for a way to escape the boring north Austin fast food fare. The location is convenient with plenty of picnic tables if you have time to sit and eat. The service is fast and the lunchbox ladies are super friendly. I will be returning soon!
