Very laid back and relaxing. Came two nights in a row. Sangria was amazing. Street tacos good but over priced for just three. Cheese board was very good. Gilbert and Rebecca very so very nice. Hope this place does well. Parking was easy.

Great clean new wine bar. Friendliest place to dance salsa Tuesday nights. Keep checking back the owner is just getting started and will have more Evenrs! Tapas, wine and so much more!

Gilbert and his Mas Vino spot are a new, bright jewel in the cocktail and wine downtown landscape. Plenty of parking(no, really) and a hop, skip and jump on 5th st from Mopac — Gilbert made our guests feel at home. Becca who was also spot on for drink selections, turned me onto District 7 Cab… yummy and plummy big red. Please flood this place on and after December 15! #Gratitude Happy Hour #Coaching Austin.

Alright now, I’m biased — I was at a private anniversary party here. And we were treated like we owned the place. Buuuut You know if you order a basic bar drink and somehow it tastes like a hand-crafted cocktail that you are somewhere special. Annnd The band/DJ area is pretty sweet with a dance-floor that has fla-va. And of course the dark swanky ambiance and modern loungy interior made me want to stay way past my bedtime.

I liked nearly everything about this wine bar. Our group was the only one there. Parking was easy. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. I especially liked the sangria. There was plenty of space to either be in the middle of the action or be hidden away in a more private spot. I’m worried that it’s going to be overly crowded during popular times.

The area boasts dons depot and el arroyo and of course mean eyed cat. However, it also has winflo and liberty. I’d say this place was more in the middle… It has the local feel, but it’s also not a honky tonk. Had a really fun night there during the soft opening and the owner even came out to personally show me some drinks. Live music and was great

I had the pleasure of attending a soft opening of sorts at MasVino a couple of weeks ago. The kitchen was not yet open so this review is only relevant for the beverages, service, and atmosphere. I’ll update once I go back to try the tapas, and I will go back because everything about MasVino has me wanting mas y mas. Mas is in the Commons, an upscale, contemporary strip on west 5th that includes some residences, a zushi sushi, hiatus spa, and lucky’s puccia. The brains of the operation is Gilbert and he was a charming host on the night me and about 20 of my friends came through the door. He was the sole bartender, host, and server and he handled us flawlessly. The space is really inviting. I commented to Gilbert that I loved how he had not crammed in as many tables as possible. So many places do that — and while I understand the incentive and temptation to do so, I am much more likely to stay a while and run up a bigger tab, if I’m not elbow to elbow and hollering to be heard. MasVino is contemporary and comfortable. There are two areas — you enter in to the bar area and then there’s a space off to the left where a cool jazzy duo provided a nice auditory backdrop for our evening. The wine list is impressive and the house sangria was just lightly sweet — just the way I like it. The craft cocktails were tempting but I stayed with(mas)vino. I look forward to returning, maybe bring my husband here for a tapas date or come with a few friends for girls night. Welcome to the neighborhood, MasVino!

I came to Mas Vino, thanks to Keri B.‘s W3nD event, during their soft opening. What a great new space and addition to West 5th! The space is modern with great, fresh décor. The menu offers a great selection of white, red, and sparkling wines that are high quality and surprisingly affordable($ 6 a glass for a delicious prosecco? Yes please!). Gilbert was a great host, super knowledgeable, offering wine tastings before ordering and a sample of the delicious house-made Sangria(I learned the secret ingredient, but I’m not going to tell =) I can’t wait to check out Mas Vino again!!!

I came here for my first W3nD event and loved every minute of it! The location is perfect being conveniently off of the Mopac(my preferred way to get downtown) and having a free 3 hour parking garage with ample spots. The owner Gilbert was gracious enough to let us have the place all to ourselves before they officially opened to the public to sip, mingle, and enjoy the live band. A lot of us noted how they seemed to play at an ideal volume of being easy to hear but not loud enough to overpower conversation. I like dry wines when I’m having a full meal, but for more of a cocktail hour I tend to be a fan of bubbles and sweeter wines(shocker, I have a sweet tooth) so the first one I tried was the Italian Bellafina Moscato. It was delicious and my second favorite of the night. The Bellafina Pink Moscato that Gilbert recommended to me was the one I fell madly in love with. The space itself is modern and comfortable with plenty of natural light coming in from the street side windows. Also, I love the prices! You can get a nice pour of a top notch wine for $ 6 a glass. That’s seriously impressive. Friendly service, great wine, cool place, what more could you want? Thank you so much to the fabulous Keri B and Delea B for planning such a fun night and bringing yummy food too! I loved meeting so many new faces and catching up with more familiar ones as always. And of course a giant shout out to Gilbert for allowing us a first glimpse into his fantastic new place. Everyone needs to come check it out!

I was one of the lucky ones who attended Keri B.‘s W3nD during a soft opening of this great new ATX wine bar. The menu selection of whites, reds, and cocktails was great. I had quite a few drinks that night but the sangria and Tempranillo may have been my favorites. We had the honor of being served by the owner and manager himself, Gilbert, who could not have been nicer and more informative about his wines. We were treated to some pizza, salad, and sandwiches which were very tasty. There was also a small stage with a duo playing some soft jazz. I loved the vibe of this place. The location is perfect meaning it has free parking in this shopping area! The inside is very sleek and cool and has enough booths and tables for a group to have a nice wine night out. I can’t wait to go back with some of my friends when it officially opens! I’ll see you again Mas Vino!

The amazing Keri B. and lovely Delea B. organized a fabulous W3nD here last week and I was completely charmed with Mas Vino! This place is dangerously close to my workout studio(literally a few doors down) so you can bet I won’t be a stranger to Gilberto and his gorgeous wine bar. Upon walking in I was drawn by the open space and beautiful chic décor. Rich reds, cool silver and handsome make up the décor. Their is a welcoming back room where an excellent band was performing. While wine is in the name they are also a full bar serving up excellent beers, creative craft cocktails and a well thought out scrumptious wine list. I sipped on a delicious glass of Pinot Noir while enjoying the music and fabulous company. I can see myself spending plenty of relaxing evenings full of live music, tasty wines and delicious food(tapas are in the works my friends). Free retail parking is available in the parking garage behind the storefront which is a huge plus for downtown wining and dining!

New wine bar yay. I went to Mas Vino for this month’s W3nD. The place isn’t actually open yet, but they already had a full bar set up. I believe it was the owner that was bartending and he seemed pretty knowledgable about the wines. I took his suggestion and tried one of the tempranillos. I’m glad I did. I can’t remember which one it was, but I think it was, er, a 2008? Anyway, after that I tried one of the sparkling wines(Dom Pierre I think?), which was downright amazing. When open, Mas Vino will have tapas, but the food wasn’t yet available. For the purpose of W3nD, food was brought in from Lucky’s next door. Yum. The atmosphere was nice. Pretty decent sized space with multiple tables. There was even live music. I’m definitely looking forward to going back when they’re officially open and are serving tapas!

So, don’t tell my BFF of 30 years, with whom I’ve had many ups and downs and adventures in food, drink and gay bars, and don’t tell my best girlfriend that I’ve known since we were two, spending our formative years tromping around in creeks and riding bikes and have carried that bond into our adult lives, and please don’t tell my husband of 25 years, the man I have shared so much with, grown older with, traveled extensively with, the man who has taken care of my every need for so long… do NOT tell them I have a new best friend, Gilbert, from Mas Vino. Apparently, after all these years, all I really need in my life is a good, generous pour of prosecco and Gilbert gave me that. Also a good, heavy pour of Tempranillo. And that’s all I need… Well, also a clean, cool contemporary space to enjoy those in, and that’s it! OH, and FREEPARKING. But, that’s all I need. Er, a jazz duo never hurts either. So, heavy pours of good wine, good space, free parking, and jazz. Yup, that’s all I need… Okokok, maybe I also need a really great owner and manager who was willing and generous in opening his bar just for a group Women Who Wine, who was gregarious and enthusiastic, who served us all generously himself with samples of his delicious and potent vodka ladened sangria and broad smiles all around. And, really THATISALL I NEED. Gilbert, and Mas Vino, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Had a business networking even here. The bar was still under construction and the main entrance wasn’t available, but the space is great. The cocktails were fresh and delish. The staff was incredibly friendly and the owner was there. What a cool cat! Can’t wait to go when it is officially completed! Only thing I don’t prefer is that it is a little out of the way. It’s over by mopac and away from the heartbeat of the city. Still, what I saw a month ago makes me want to see more… maybe it will be worth it to über out here!
