Upon moving to Austin a year ago, I checked out multiple properties and finally decided on 5th Street Commons. I won’t lie, when I found out that they property was transitioning to Greystar on the day I moved in, I was nervous and slightly apprehensive.(Being brand new to a city, move in stress… now a shift in management…) Turns out, I had no reason to fret. Not only is the staff at the property super friendly, they’re also really accommodating. Maintenance requests get taken care of in a timely and professional manner. The maintenance staff are as friendly as the leasing team, always saying hi in the hall, etc. The leasing team works hard to put on events that are fun and relevant to what’s going on in the city(ex. SXSW, ACL, etc). The location is great– close to everything and the residents are respectful of each other. Great location, great apartments, great staff. I resigned my lease for another 15 months without blinking an eye. Keep up the good work, Christi and co.

I lived at this property for a couple years when it first opened and was under management by Gables. When I recently moved back to Austin after being away for a few years, I was happy to return to this property – now managed by Greystar – because of the convenient location and good value relative to other buildings downtown. My current unit faces 5th street and while there is some street noise and you can hear the train, I love being able to walk to the hike/bike trail, pop downstairs for a class at The Bar Method, pedicure or hair cut/blow dry, or meet friends for drinks at Mean Eyed Cat or el Arroyo – all without ever getting in my car. Maintenance is prompt. The apartment is in good condition(love the separate in-unit laundry room, large garden tub and walk-in closet). All in all, very happy here.

5th Street Commons has a great selection of apartments with plenty of wood floors and quality kitchen materials. Beyond their great design, the apartments are very well priced and close to downtown(and El Arroyo!). And while that is all you need to know when renting an apartment, you will also be delighted to hear that the management team is absolutely spectacular. They constantly go above and beyond to help their residents in times of need. A particular shout out to Christi the apartment manager who took a tough situation and turned it into a positive experience. Christi’s dedication and support has turned my wife and I into lifelong Greystar promoters! I’d highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to live in Austin, TX.
