Merle Norman is my go to store for cosmetics as I love their lip colors in all assortment and the eye shadow is just one of the best out there. I love the Luxava foundation powder. I’m in my late fifties and if I need to just have a wonderful natural look for running errands, than this is the go to product.

The salesperson dismissed me because I was a male Halloween shopper. She was not helpful and made me feel like I was wasting her time. I do not buy makeup but I was willing to buy a good product since I know cheap makeup is terrible for the skin. I was rushed out of there as soon as I walked in. It was my Pretty Woman moment for this year.

Yesterday I went to Merle Norman on South Lamar, and for the third time I was left standing in front of the door reading a note that said that the store was closed … «Be right back.» The last time I had to finally leave before the lady returned. This time, I went to a couple of other stores before returning. When I asked about the note, the employee was very rude. She said that she«had to eat.» I am wondering why she didn’t bring her lunch? Hum… If I owned a store, I would make sure my employee knew that the customers come first, not your trip to the local restaurant. Oh well. This is not a good location. Go elsewhere.

Marla, Thanks for the awesome review of Sabrina and her Merle Norman store. I agree Sabrina goes above and beyond for her customers. I would love to give you free mini-mini 20 minute facial. I am the esthetician at Sabrina’s store. I’m there on weekends. Call anytime to book your appointment. Marlene

Oh yes, from reading the only other review at this time, I concur that Sabrina is flat out amazing! Sabrina really cares about her staff and her business. I love all makeup, but specifically like the lipsticks and lip liners best here at the good old MN!!! Old Trusty, old reliable… don’t stop… believin’…in this company(it has been around a long time, after all). I have tried the skin care line called Luxiva… it is great, too! I just have so much skincare that my bathroom looks like it threw up a department store sometimes! This is a brilliant location in the West Gate Shopping Center… Anyone that gets to work with Sabrina is going to have a great time!

This review is for the ear-piercing service provided by the WONDERFUL Sabrina at this Merle Norman location. Here’s the story: My soon-to-be 5 yr. old daughter started bugging me about 3 mos. ago about getting her ears pierced on her birthday. I thought it was a request she’d forget about by the time her birthday rolled around, but no, she kept on asking, even though I explained to her that it would feel like getting a shot in her ears and described all of the post-piercing care she’d have to endure for 6 weeks. She stood her ground. So I called this Merle Norman to inquire about ear piercing, mainly because I’d gotten MY ears pierced at a Merle Norman 100 yrs. ago when I was a little girl. I spoke with Sabrina and told her my situation, and she let me know her ear-piercing philosophy(she prefers to only pierce ears if the child is under 6 mos. or over 7 yrs.), but said as long as I felt like my daughter was really ready, she would do it. I talked to her a couple more times on the phone to set the appointment and settle my nerves, and she was always helpful and patient. On my daughter’s birthday, we went to Merle Norman, and Sabrina handled the whole thing BEAUTIFULLY. She was kind, gentle, and had several tricks up her sleeve to help settle my daugther’s nerves and distract her from the pain of the first piercing in order to endure the second one(without a flinch or tears, I might add). I believe the fee for this service varies on what earrings you choose. We chose sparkly crystal flowers(natch) with solid gold posts, and paid about $ 45. Expensive? Sort of. But it was a birthday present my daughter and I will not soon forget, and she is SO happy and proud of her pretty pierced ears.
