Moonies is always a good experience. The food’s consistently great, the service is fast and friendly, and the place is clean. I don’t eat beef, but I’ve taken carnivorous friends and family here, and they’ve assured me the meat’s great. My husband and I get the black bean patties(which I think are made in house) and love that we can get them in all of the different styles. The sweet potato fries and onion rings are never burnt or weird(I’ve been to some local restaurants that really mess those up.) I also like that the kitchen is visible to the public. It’s a fun place.

They were out of sweet tea which is what both my husband and I wanted to drink, but we settled for mango instead. According to my husband there wasn’t anything special about the frito pie, but we should of know better than to order a frito pie at a burger joint. I enjoyed my California burger which came with avocado, tomatoes, bacon, lettuce and pepper jack cheese. I liked that the patty was a nice portion and looked as if they had just prepped it in the back instead of taking it out of the freezer to thaw. The burger was a bit bland; I suggest they season their meet with salt and pepper while prepping.

I had a coupon for a free burger and fries, so I went to check it out. Ordinarily, I’m not a huge fan of burgers, but this place was great(and free)! The fries were crisp and well seasoned, the burger juicy and well cooked, and to top it all off, they use a sweet Hawaiian bun that counters the savory nature of the meat very well. I will definitely be coming back with friends and family– with or without a coupon

This is the worst location of the Moonies’ spots around town. They are ill-equipped to handle the dinner rush. There is only one cashier and the kitchen falls behind. The food suffers a bit as a result, but it’s still a little bit better than fast food burgers. Be prepared for a long line to order, and an equally long wait for your order.

So I must say I’m surprised I stumbled into this place because I didn’t feel like driving to Hopdoddys and this is awesome right up there with Casino El Camino my only critique would be the burger was served well done. But that’s easy to get over, the last time I came this place was 2 stars but apparently they’re under new ownership and it shows. Definitely worth checking out.

The staff is very nice and personable! I ordered the California turkey burger, which I was told was their best seller, and it was incredibly delicious! I highly recommend it!

I had the Hawaiian. The burger meat wasn’t as good as I had hoped for, and the sandwich was way too bread-y. The sauce was so sticky and gushing out of the sandwich, and they had no wet naps. They sold blue moon beer but didn’t have any orange slices! The front of house staff was not very accommodating or friendly. They were all young and more concerned about catching up on talking. BUT, the fried pickle chips were killer, so there’s that.

Great burgers, fast service and nice people with a good beer selection. Onion rings and fries were both good.

Had a great family meal at Moonie’s last night during the Canyon Vista MSPTA spirit night. Moonie’s ticks all the boxes for us — comfy tables(love the big wood table and benches), casual atmosphere, friendly staff, lots of variety and great food. Quick service at 6pm. Love the new bun choices and expanded menu. My son is quite the milkshake connoisseur, two thumbs up there too. I happened to be in the mood for a BLT and you guys hooked me up – the California on Texas toast sans meat patty makes a great BLT. With extra tomato and bacon, it would make a fantastic addition to your menu. :) Thank you for supporting neighborhood schools!

Great counter man! Just a delight, but what the heck happened in the kitchen. More than 15 mins for a burger and fries. Did give me time to have another beer. Love the food! HATETHEWAIT! Still a fav.

My husband and I went to Moonie’s for the first time tonight for dinner and it definitely won’t be our last visit! The young lady at the register was really friendly, service was quick(shake within a couple minutes, whole order within five), food was hot and fresh. I got a California chicken sandwich on the jalapeño cheddar roll — yum! I agree with others that the bun doesn’t have a strong flavor but fresh and fluffy none the less. The fries weren’t my favorite since they have that coating to make them extra crispy but my husband enjoyed them as well as his burger and strawberry shake. Toward the end the same employee stopped my our table to see if we needed anything else. When I told her the sandwich was really good she asked«does that mean you will return to see us again?» and seemed genuinely happy when we said yes.

Any burger with buns, beef, bacon and guacamole is Good in my book but man, this one is actually fresh. Nothing is mushed together, and each flavor is separate and can be appreciated. I like it and will come back

Their burgers are delish! My favorite is the Blue Moon. We love the bread selection, including gluten free. I have no negative comments.

This is a good burger place in between fast food and quality food. The veggies in their burgers don’t taste extremely fresh and the patties aren’t super juicy, but they have enough taste and their ingredients hit all the requirements of a decent burger. What sets their burgers apart from other ones is their buns-they’re buttery, sweet and, to me, the focal point of the entire burger. Sweet potato fries are yummy as well. Big downside to Moonie’s: everything is greasy. Did not feel like I did my body a favor by eating here.

I was looking to try something different and happen to be driving by… so I stopped in, saw they had a veggie burger and ordered. The price caught me off guard, $ 11 and change for a veggie burger, fries and tea. The veggie burger came on a sweet bun, it was a black bean burger similar to what you’ll find with Morningstar. It was good, especially the use of the sweet bun but very overpriced since I’m pretty sure it was a frozen Morningstar patty. I enjoyed the food, if I come back, I’ll just get the burger to keep the cost right… oh and if you like a nice quiet lunch, go elsewhere. This place is a toddler magnet. I ordered, sat down and thought it was great as it was very quiet with some rock music… that ended when 4 moms with about 10 little kids walked in. Instant crying and tantrums began and I ran. I warned you!

Tried this this afternoon about for the first time. Never again. I thought because of the packed place when I walked in, it was a good sign. It was a little misleading. First the burger… I got the Diablo and wife got the Plain Jane. We both got the jalapeño cheese bun, but we both agreed we couldn’t taste anything different from a normal piece of bread. Fries and onion rings were good, but afterwards, we felt that Mighty Fine, Five Guys and even Whataburger was better than what we had. Next was the price… two burger combos for $ 25? Really? Way too much when I can do better elsewhere for a cheaper price. Lastly, the service. We waited 35 minutes for two burgers. Unacceptable. There was actually a party that got there before us that didn’t get their stuff until AFTER we did. Lots of options and I saw shakes being make with Blue Bell ice cream. Suggest you go on an off hour when there’s nobody around.

It was my first time here and I am in love! The buns are amazing! The burgers was nice and juicy! The crispy fries were so delicious! The only downfall is the wait, we waited about 15+ minutes to get the food. But other than that everything was great!

Very good burgers, with a Hawaiian-style bun that’s softer and a tad sweeter than a typical ‘sponge-dough’ one from P. Terry’s or McDees. It’s also pricier than McDee’s but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended. Try their onion rings as well — definitely above average. This place gets 4 stars on the ‘CTJ Scale’ as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing on after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK being seen eating here by Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus’ Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn’t have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn’t have my penultimate supper here, either.

Was actually a nice change of pace for a burger. The sweet potato fries were the perfect addition. The burgers are«by design» and have lots of flair, all the way down to the bun. It’s a perfect place to bring the kids. I’d make a return trip…
