The food is good if they get your order right. In my experience there has been about a 30% chance they get my order wrong. Make sure you check any take out before you leave. I just got to work only to realise they messed up my to go order. I will probably only dine in there, at least that way I can return their mistakes.

Easily one of my favorite chains in Austin. I like all of their vegetarian options, and I’m not even a vegetarian. The service is fast and friendly. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. The food always tastes fresh. I live the self serve condiments table(the pickles are so delicious!). The parking lot can be a bit hairy during the lunch rush hour, and sometimes it can take a while for tables to be cleaned, but otherwise I really like this place!

Newks strikes again. We ordered two pizzas and two salads to go. Delicious pizza and very flavorful vegetarian friendly soup.

I have never had a bad lunch. The soup is always good but my go to is the tomato or loaded baked potato soup. We go here weekly, only complaint is its out of the way for me… wish it was closer.

Nice location. Decent food. I had the Ultimate Salad which came in this giant bowl that looks like it’s enough for two. Tasty but a tad on the salty side. I would have given it 4 stars except when I opened the silverware bundle, they are not clean, especially the spoon. I took a picture of it but doesn’t look like I can post it.

I used to work in this shopping center and it’s a great lunch spot. I like the Club sandwich, or the turkey, and the zesty black beans soup is a go to during the summer. Their salads are really big, and don’t be fooled by the size of the to go salads-they pack a lot of salad in there. Best thing about this place? The sweet tea. Sweet, but not sugary and it tastes like tea not water.

Nice, clean deli. Service is efficient, good food, GREAT soups. Great place to go for brunch or warm soup on a cold day. Highly recommend the Broccoli Cheddar soup!

Pepperoni Pizza is fresh and delicious! Service was quick even though there’s a lunch crowd. I’ll be back for more on the very tempting menu.

Pretty dang good. I had the pork belly sandwich and it was pretty good. It could’ve used more meat and it is more pricier than the authentic bahn MI sandwiches at a vietnamese restaurant. I had the newks salad, it’s a large portion, barely tasted the dressing but I love the fact that they have unlimited condiment section! My kids had the chicken noodle and Mac and cheese. Again pricey for what they serve but I enjoyed it. Don’t forgot to ask for a military discount… i did

Great cob salad! Fresh sliced grilled chicken and real bacon. Loads of extras for free on their condiment bar. The toasted garlic and capers were a nice touch. They also have really good«diet» sweet tea! Employees were really nice and very helpful.

I have been a fan of Newk’s since I visited the eatery in Jackson, Mississippi. That was my favorite lunch spot. Then, when I discovered that they had recently opened one in Austin(after moving back to Texas)…I was more than ecstatic! The service and food was not disappointing! I am so happy they are expanding and very happy they made it to Texas. If you have not been… you must. The salads, sandwiches, marshmallow rice treats, and tea are delicious. I love that they have capers, butter pickles, and breadsticks available as condiments! YUM!

My family and I had a bad experience(maybe just don’t on Thursday nights) so this is all I can go off of. We had most of the Thursday soups minus the tomato basil; the potato and the chowder were extremely salty, like, for real. I still taste the salt in my mouth jfc. It was like they threw a salt bath bomb or something. But the zesty black bean soup was good! Two stars for that. Lastly, the chicken parm, pesto chicken, and the newk’s Q sandwiches were drrrrry. Like desert dry. I recommend rehydrating them by dunking them in water. :) Caesar salad was also salty. More like SEAsar. I believe in second chances, though. So maybe next time will be better.

We were on our way to Trader’s Joe and decided to stop for a quite bite. I got the club sandwich and my fiancé had shrimp and avocado salad. First the good: The sides were very good! I had coleslaw with my sandwich and, unlike in many places, the salad was not 50% mayo. The vegetables were clearly all fresh and sauce was light, but still have great taste. Definitely 5⁄5. The sandwich was good, but nothing special. While it was prepared well I was somewhat underwhelmed by the meal. The portion was a good size, but the sandwich was not unique. I had only tried one, so maybe some of their other choices would leave a more memorable impression. The bad: The avocado on the salad was not ripe enough. They should have left it for another day or so. The salad itself was good as was the dressing(like the coleslaw — light and refreshing) but when one of the main ingredients is not up to par it leaves you wanting. Overall, I am torn between giving this place 3 or 4 stars. I think it is somewhere in the middle, but since our experience was not that memorable I gave it 3. We only had 2 dishes and given some of the good points I think Newk’s probably has some other good choices.

I didn’t get a chance to try their pizza this trip, but my Italian sandwich was delicious. The four-cheese mac and cheese that I ordered as my side wasn’t too bad either. The real show-stopper was the topping bar, the pickled garlic really took my sandwich up through the roof. This is the kind of establishment where you order at the front and then get a number and they deliver it to your table. Great choice for a fast but fine tasting lunch.

I have eaten here about 6 times. I really enjoy it. I love that you can grab a yummy sandwich and a beer or pizza and a glass of Merlot and yet it’s a bit casual. I love eating outside. Their fresh made circulate brownies are the best I have ever had. Tonight I guess they were taking a bit long on the pizza, per the manager(although my husband and I didn’t even notice). The manager Jennifer came out and apologized and offered us some cake or something. We went for the brownie. She can back with 2 for us and he pizza followed shortly. Very proactive, I was impressed. Overall 5star

I probably like Newk’s a little more than I should. It’s basically a nicer, yuppier version of Jason’s Deli. See the thing is, they offer some of my favorite foods: pizza, soup, salads, sandwiches and macaroni and cheese! Simple stuff, with an amazing condiment bar. I’ve tried the macaroni, the pimento cheese sandwich, cesar salad, and the vegetarian club. All great and keep me coming back. The combos are my favorite: half salad with half a sandwich, or a half salad with mac n cheese. The soups change daily, and usually one of the two is vegetarian. They focus heavily on big meat salads. Straightforward stuff here, from a relatively large chain and their only location in Austin.

I really like this place, I’ve worked next door at Sephora for almost two years and this is only my second time eating here. The last time I was here I got the grilled cheese with a side Caesar salad, loved it! They actually listened to me and didn’t drown the poor salad in dressing. This time I got the small Caesar salad with chicken(they put it in a large bowl of you add a protein!) and one of the soup’s of the day, Lobster & Shrimp Bisque. The soup is so yummy! I’m usually really picky about soups but I will def order this one again, it’s not too seafood-y. I also love their tea, and who can complain about a restaurant that lets you keep the plastic cups?! Staff is very sweet and personable, service is quick!

Somehow Newk’s seems to be a place that’s constantly crowded, yet no one ever talks about it. Apparently, the regulars at Newk’s Eatery move in different circles than I do but I’m happy to say I’ve joined their ranks during lunch today! I got lunch at Newk’s with a friend. It was hard to find seating, not because there isn’t enough, but because there are so many people! Order at the counter, get a number and sit down — classic mix between sit down and fast food. It took about 7 minutes between walking in the door and getting our food. The pesto chicken sandwich was good — not WOWing but solidly yummy. The fruit cup was purely pineapple and like two grapes. That’s fine, I like pineapple. Just FYI. My friend got the pimento cheese sandwich. We didn’t talk about his feelings about the food, but he ate all of it in two seconds. So it was probably delicious. From my perspective, it looked great… the cheese was oozing off the crispy french bread and forming in pools on the plate. That’s exactly what I would want from a hot cheese sandwich. Our lunch total with two sandwiches and water was $ 15. Not great, not bad. There were a lot of other delicious menu items I was eyeing on the tables around me. I’ll be back for sure!

No pun intended: my appetite has been whetted! Came here today with coworkers for lunch. I honestly thought this place was a kid’s shoe store until I heard them talking about it before coming. I got the half sandwich, half salad combo. The pimento cheese sandwich – so flipping delicious! If you don’t like pimento cheese, just trust me on this. One of the best, if not the best, pimento cheeses I’ve ever had. I plan to return here whenever I can to try all the pizzas, soups and Mac & Cheeses that I can stand. I’m so glad to have tried this place.

Conveniently planted between a quick trip to Sephora and Trader Joes, I found myself wondering what all the line fuss was about outside of Newk’s, so I jumped in line and pulled up their menu on my phone. Service sucked that day, I’m sorry, but it did and I almost never feel so turned off by service that I will consider it a part of the overall rating. Almost everyone makes me smile, I’ve been referred to as a giggle monster on multiple occasions, and all three of the employees I interacted with that day were rather disgruntled, but the guy who took my order was downright surly and disinterested. I ordered the Black & Blue salad($ 8.50) described as «Mixed greens, choice beef tender, Gorgonzola cheese, pecans, grape tomatoes and sliced red onion tossed with Newk’s Bleu Cheese dressing.» Sounds great. However these weren’t the most hydrated greens, the thin slices of roast beef were dull, and neither the gorgonzola or bleu cheese was recognizable. I wasn’t totally offended by the salad, but it fell so flat, as if it had been prepared the day before. I did like their sweet tea sweetened with splenda! A part of me wants to try the soups and mac n cheese, but there are too many other comparatively priced places nearby to get your typical salad, soups, and sandwiches.
