The food is soooo good and tastes homemade. It really is authentic colombian food. I also love that it’s BYOB and he includes tax with the price. Go by there, you won’t regret it!

The place is cute, but me and my friends waited to long for out food. We where the first ones to arrive when he opened. When finally we got our plate the portion was too little for what we pay. The only thing I really enjoy was the beans. Its ok but you stay hungry after that.
Mmm, mmm, mmmmm, mmm, good! I was a little hesitant about having a dish with both potatoes and rice and not much else but taking that first bite took all those feelings of doubt away. The flavor is light, tangy and comforting all at the same time. The food has a good spice level and each ingredient is perfectly seasoned with a flavor of its own. Each dish is plated with all items separated but I recommend mixing it all up and tasting everything as one. It is simply delicious. There is something to be said when simple ingredients are elevated to such a level that make a dish almost unrecognizable but still familiar at the same time. No carry out here though. So come, drink and enjoy the food and pleasant surroundings.

The chicken dish was delicious. Tender and flavorful. I usually don’t like plantains but they were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing

We had the empanada and the bistec-beef. He was out of the chicken but would have gone beef anyway. The empanadas were fresh and tasty. The sauce was awesomely spicy. I could tell the beef was of good quality and cooked well. The chimichurri was excellent and authentic. My Colombian wife says it’s the best she has had in this country. BYOB but their are picnic tables to chill and good music.

Best Colombian food in Austin! This has quickly become one of my favorite food trucks in Austin. Good variety and truly authentic, delicious food. I’ve almost tried everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. The Picada is a great way to start because it lets you sample little pieces of(heaven) Colombian food favorites. Highly recommend this spot, you will not be disappointed. Great atmosphere as well.

I tried Patakon for the first time tonight, and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience! The first thing I noticed is how much more inviting the seating area is than what is typical for food trailers. The tables and their décor are on par with brick-and-mortar restaurant decks. This attention to detail was also evident in the food. I had the Frisolitos De La Abuela, which for you fellow Gringos means«Gramdma’s Frisolitos», and I can tell why her recipe is still being used today! The beans were savory and rich, the chicharron(a chicken dish) was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the arepa was a great complimentary side-dish, the grilled plantain was a perfect palate-cleanser, and the avacado and cilantro(in the rice) tasted home-grown. There are gardens on the grounds around the trailer, and I’m pretty sure he grows some or all of his produce right there. I definitely recommend Patakon to you, whether you’re Colombian, American, Icelandish, or Martian!

You can’t go wrong with Patakon: everything is delicious. I especially like to get the Picada because you get to try several appetizers. My favorite item on the Picada was the chorizo, which was packed with robust flavors. I was told that it is made fresh weekly. The Patakon with tomatoes and onions was a close second with its balanced flavors. For the entrée plates, I have not been able to stray from the Bistec plate. The combination of rare beef and chimichurri is to die for. Hands down, the chimichurri is the best that I have ever had and will keep me going to Patakon. Some of the appetizers also have chimichurri.

This is a family run food truck. Food is delicious and is on a 2 week regional rotating menu. I had the pollo sudado and my husband had the bistec plate. Both were mouthwateringly delicious! We will be back.
