I ordered ½ bowl pesto pasta(I forget the name) and garlic bread. The food was very very good hence the four stars however I ordered the Italian cream cake and it was not at all good, would cond here again but never order dessert from here!

The food was amazing! We tried the WOP burger which was a giant meatball on chibata bread, super delicious, huge meatballs, and homemade. So good! And we got the bruschetta which normal comes with 3 slices, one of each flavor but I decided to just get 3 of the riccota bruschetta and it was the best! Super delicious! I will definitely try this place again, they make all their own pasta in the truck and have gluten free options. The staff knows their stuff too. Very helpful in explaining the menu and differnt ootions if you have never been there.

Patrizis is simply delicious. Hands down, the best Italian food in Austin! Pasta is hand made on site — their staff if friendly, gives great recommendations, and has unique specials on the menu each day. I’ve had: — The Great Leopold — the pesto pasta dish — simply delicious, seasoned perfectly — The Cacio e Pepe — add a coddled egg! — The side salad — I don’t usually mention salads, but this was one of the best I’ve had in recent memory, when it came out we thought we should have gone with the smaller size but then we scraped the plate clean, it was THAT good — The beets Since it is connected to the Butterfly Bar, we grabbed two sangrias to accompany the meal. I’ll be back soon!

This place is the best. It’s so, so good and really cute. Everyone that works there is always very nice and helpful and it usually doesn’t take very long to get your food. Definitely try the red sauce, it’s delicious!

They make their pasta by hand on-site. This is probably the best pasta in Austin. Patrizi’s is a trailer in the garden next to the Vortex theater. There are several delightful seating areas sheltered from the sun and the street. Order drinks from the bar inside the theater building.

This is a really cool little food truck thing located in the backyard of the vortex bar. The food is phenomenal, the staff is so nice and informative. I loved every minute of my visit here. They have a really cool patio area they share with the bar and there’s all sorts of people there. I can’t say again how delicious the food was, perfect pasta consistency and taste. We tried 3 different dishes and they were so good. The meatball was DELICIOUS i highly recommend getting one. The bread appetizer was really good as well eating that made me sad because I hadn’t come here sooner and enjoyed their food and ambiance and wonderful service.

Patrizi’s is my new pasta destination. It doesn’t hurt that the whole combination of things going on within The Vortex space is cool. I’m just saying, I’ll come back just for this pasta. I had The Great Leopold(pesto pasta dish) and it far exceeded my expectations. I’ve been known to eat a spoonful of straight up pesto because I just like pesto, so anything that is a friend of pesto is a friend of mine. However, this pesto pasta dish was like no other pesto pasta dish I have tried. Basil-y, lemon-y, the perfect amount of crunch(from nuts) and just enough red pepper. The pasta is fresh. No mushy glue pasta at Patrizi’s. Fantastic. This was a sweet place to go for dinner and drinks to catch up with a friend, but I would recommend it to any grown-ups.

Austin never fails to amaze me. An authentic italian food truck hidden behind Vortex. The environment is lively, entertaining, and exciting. You smell the aroma of the air, and you’ll feel your stomach growing more and more empty, yearning for some good pasta. The first time eating here was years ago, when I ordered the Carbonara Alexandra. I don’t exactly remember every detail, but I do remember that it was pretty dang good. The summary of this dish is that everything was cooked well. You get a great bite from the al dente pasta, and the coddled egg is just visually stunning. The bacon adds the great saltiness as well. Also, don’t be afraid that you’ll leave hungry; there’s definitely enough pasta to fill you up and sometimes even more so. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the dish, I admit I haven’t been back for another couple years. My most recent visit, however, was not as positive. This time I ordered the Patrizi’s Red Sauce with their meatball. Again, this dish was visually stunning, and the meatball was fairly large. I can already tell I’m going to get super full that night. However, the sauce just wasn’t for me. Specifically, it was so thick and heavy that after finishing off just half of the dish, my taste buds were done for the night. I usually tend to avoid marinara sauce and the like due to its heaviness, but this red sauce definitely takes the cake. However, this is just one dish and with the variety that Italian food has, I know there’s others I’ll enjoy if I come back. This food truck is truly a rarity, even in Austin. If you’re a fan of authentic Italian pasta, you’ll be a fan of Patrizi’s.

I was talking about this place with one of the girls I work with. As I opened my app to bookmark it, there it is already bookmarked! So here we are. Cacio e pepe — this was my first time to have this. It’s a simple dish but I feel the simplicity is what makes it. A lot of this is embracing the goodness off the house made noodles. Carbonara Alexandra — I am a Carbonara girl. I’m going to say everything I said above applies the same for this dish as well. Just a few simple ingredients and great homemade noodles combine to yumminess(if that’s a word) on your palate. Meatball — good but not my style. I don’t know if it was too much breadcrumbs or the way the meat was ground but I wasn’t a fan of the consistency. Bread and Beef fat — this is exactly what you expect it to be and maybe even better. I mean who wouldn’t like a little bread soaked in beef fat that still has a nice crisp toast?

Where do I even begin? I live three blocks away and have for about nine months, yet I’ve never made it into the vortex area. I heard that I should, but the photos on Unilocal of the bar and patio area just didn’t seem like the greatest place on earth. I’m so glad that I went against my initial plans and went and the other night. The first night we came to the area we only had a drink but the line at Patrizis was full. We knew we had to come back and try to soon as possible. Fast-forward two nights and Bam it’s 6 o’clock and were in line for our first meal. The staff is wonderful about explaining their menu and breaking it down for you. I was so impressed with the prices as we had been dining out for the last week with guests in town and had spent a small fortune going to hip restaurants around town. The portion sizes are amazing and everything is house made, so it’s an INSANE value. First off, their options. Paleo/glutenfree veggie noodles– are you kidding?! I love you. I’ve refrained from so much Italian over the last three years as I follow a semi primal/paleo diet. I had half portion of the zucchini noodles with pesto and a sausage on top and the house salad. Whatever is on that salad, I want it by the ton. It’s like a pickled, garlic, veggie relish and so perfectly compliments the lightly creamy, Caesar like dressing in the salad. I could eat that salad every day. My husband got the regular noodles with the red sauce and a meatball and it was perfection. Reminded me of lasagna. Thick, rich, hearty Italian. My mom got the cheese, oil, and pepper pasta and honestly it was the only thing I didn’t LOVE! It needed just a touch more moisture and was a little spicy from the cracked pepper for me, but still a solid dish. The garlic bread has a little sweetness to it and everything is full of garlic. How could you not love it here?! Can’t wait to go again. Weekly.

I’ve been super over food trucks lately. But I have to write about Patrizi’s. It’s the one food truck I’m not over! The wait can be kind of long. But you can always grab a drink next door. I love the ambience of this place. Definitely a place to bring friends. The pastas are better eaten there than taken to go. Whatever pasta dish you decide. Make sure you add a meatball. Best meatballs I’ve ever had from an Italian restaurant!

Came in for an early date night Sunday evening. Got there about 6 before it got too busy. No wait to place our order and only took about 15 minutes to deliver. We had the garlic bread, Alexander, red sauce, meatball and a side salad. Overall everything was good but just didn’t explode off the plate. I found myself wanting to salt my pasta. The garlic bread had a sweet flavor to it that I wasn’t terribly fond of. The meatball got a little dry towards the end. The pasta was just a bit undercooked for my liking. That all being said we ate all our food and left satisfied. Portions are sufficient and equal to pricing. I’ve traveled through Italy and I wouldn’t say their food transported me back there. I’d still try them again. The staff is lovely!

I came here on a Friday night and the area was packed. It’s full of adults holding glasses of wine, children running around, and dogs. The wait for our food was 45 minutes. I’m not sure if it’s because there was a group of 25 college students in front of us, but I wish the wait was shorter. When we first got in line, a worker came to us and asked if we’ve ever been there and explained the menu. My friend ordered the red sauce pasta with meatball and I got the carbonara pasta. I actually preferred the red sauce pasta, but only because I’m a huge fan of tomatoes(and apparently, heartburn…) I did enjoy the tender meatball, which was the star of the meal, but at a questionable $ 4…idk… I believe the pastas are a little pricey for what it is(ie serving sizes and because it’s just pasta…) but this place is worth a try. The most interesting to me was the cottled egg; it was a nice addition. The noodles for both items were soft and al dente, which is definitely a plus. I would love to try their pesto pastas next time.

So I was reading an interview with Paul Qui and he mentioned that Patrizi’s was one of his favorite food trailers! That was pretty much the only recommendation I needed to get me up off the couch and on my way to eating there! So I grew up in Beaumont and there was a Patrizi’s restaurant there that was ran by the same family, I ate there a few times as a kid. The food was great home-style Italian fare. Knowing that these guys are from Beaumont added to my excitement a bit as its always good to see someone from back home doing well in Austin. I worked myself up all day looking at pics of the pasta and when I get there I was sooo hungry! We ordered everything on the menu and I don’t regret it one bit! The pasta was so perfectly cooked and al the sauces were rich and tasted super fresh! My favorite dish was the Carbonara, I feel like I could probably eat 3 or 4 servings of it! My wife was really into the Great Leopold which I have to admit was absolutely amazing. I also tried one of their giant meatballs and it was as incredible as everything else. I highly recommend anyone who likes pasta or Italian food at all eat here, its an experience you don’t want to miss! I hope these guys continue to keep delivering the incredible quality food they serve because I will for sure be back for more!

My friend and I came for dinner in search of a place that may have real Italian in Austin since it is severely lacking! The location is in a fenced in patio behind a bar in the Vortex(not sure if that is the bar name or the complex name). There is off street parking for the Vortex which is a rare event for this area. Let me just say for a food truck that I have never had this type of amazing service. There was a gal standing outside the food truck who told us all about the menu, flavors, her favorites, daily specials etc. I love that because you aren’t standing there guessing how to order, what is good or what you should do. You order at the truck, they give you a number and deliver it to your table. They have plenty of picnic tables and you order your adult or non-adult beverages at the bar inside. They are also dog friendly outside and have dog water bowls which the gal was kind enough to fill up and give to us. They also have a stage outside which leads me to believe at some points they have live music. The inside bar prices are cheap for this part of town and if you just want cocktails and a snack they also sell bags of popcorn. I opted for red sauce pasta and added a meatball with house made ricotta cheese. It was also served with a crisp piece of bread. The pasta was cooked perfectly and had flavor which is awesome because that is where most supposed Italian restaurants miss the mark. The red sauce tasted like it came out of my Nonni’s kitchen and the look of surprised delight on my face at the first bite said it all. The meatball was the size of a baseball, moist and perfect blend of flavors with the spices and fresh meat. It wasn’t overly greasy, dry or any of the common problems you find in Italian restaurants. The house made ricotta was decadent and blows any homemade cheese I have ever had out of the water. It makes me happy when an Italian place doesn’t try to replace quality with portion sizes. Here less is totally more because the quality is in the ingredients not the portion size! This place truly blew me away and will be my go to Italian place in Austin. I couldn’t believe how visually pleasing the dish was and how out of this world the food was from a food truck none the less! Also I have to say for the quality the pricing was amazing!

My husband I had been talking about going to Patrizi’s for about a year I think. It took us so long because we rarely go to this part of town — not on purpose we just don’t live in that area. So we finally made it and it did not disappoint! We took 3 of our closest friends and walked up to the food truck and ordered one of every pasta dish on the menu. The girl taking out order looks up and goes — really? We said — yes please! She then told us that we were the first people she had ever had do that. Apparently it was the first for everyone working that day. But seriously, there were so many delicious things on the menu how could you possible choose to have one thing??? So we didn’t and chose to instead eat it all like small plates among the group. In my opinion it was the perfect way to to do Patrizi’s. My favorite was the green pasta dish — The Great Leopold. Close seconds were probably everything else … lol. It was all delicious! The Great Leopold was just a little more different and unexpected I think. I loved the flavors. Honestly though you can’t go wrong with any of the pasta dishes. I also loved the bread and beef fat! You would probably think that after all the pasta dishes and 3 appetizers were would be completely full, but we went back for dessert and an extra meatball. The meatballs were wonderful and cooked perfectly. The coconut cream pie was like an icebox pie which was light and fluffy after the heavy, rich meal. Austin has a ton of places to eat, but I have always thought they are lacking in the Italian food department. I am so glad I checked this place off my bucketlist because it is my go to Italian food spot for sure in Austin. It’s the best I have found in town!

The charm that surrounds this hidden gym of a magical pasta truck is truly uniquely Austin. The outdoor eating areas really make this place special. The porch dimly lit is romantic and I am surrounded by couples. Unable to make my own decision on what to get, I show them a pic off of Unilocal.I can’t remember the name. But it’s fettuccine noodles, olive oil and a lot of spicy black pepper. It’s pretty delicious. I think the portion size is appropriate for the price of $ 11. I think this could easily change to a 5 star rating with a different dish. What I ordered, although tastes great, is a little simpler than I like. And I blame that on me for just pointing at a pic. Haha the garlic bread is crunchy. And flavored well. I would return for sure. Seems like a sweet date place to kick back and enjoy the summer night.

I’m in no position to comment on the authenticity of the food. I am in a position, however, to say that Patrizi’s is dishing out some damn fine(dare I say perfect) food: fresh, verdant, not greasy, makes your tongue do the happy dance. A far departure from what you find at a typical Italian joint – Patrizi’s is focused on super fresh, super simple, but super flavorful food. If you think you’ve had pesto, you haven’t. Have it here and you’ll know what I’m talking about. And get a meatball. You can thank me later. If you think you’ve had carbonara… you have NOT had carbonara. One a low-carb diet? Screw it. This pasta is the best you’ll likely ever taste. And double screw it by getting the crostini(three large pieces of homemade bread with three different toppings). The menu is small… so should you be so lucky as to come with a small group, you should try to get a taste of everything. They now have an expanded seating area that is covered and more comfortable than Butterfly’s picnic tables. Sure you’re getting 5-star food on paper plates and with plastic forks — but oh well, it’s Austin.

Mmmm Carbs. I love pasta. Especially fresh pasta with really great ingredients. We came out here for a friend’s birthday. I had never been to this place but I heard that it was a really cool place. Patrizi’s has been book marked for awhile now. The only down fall to this whole night was that it down poured for 5 minutes and of course I was the last one left in my group to order. I looked like a wet dog and was so pissed off. I digress that has nothing to do with the food. The lady at the window was really friendly and felt really bad for me. I’m a sucker for carbonara so I was instantly drawn to the Carbonara Alexandra — coddled egg, bacon, onions and grana. It was heavenly! The coddled egg was sitting in the center of my pasta like nest. I got to break the yolk and then mix my pasta all together. I knew I was going to be indulging in pasta so I had eaten light and stayed pretty busy at work. I was hungry when I got there! The pasta had a great chewy texture and it was cooked perfectly. All the ingredients were so simple and delicious! I also ordered Bread and Beef Fat for sharing. Day old bread with a very concentrated beef stock and cheese. Delicious! I felt like we were waiting forever for our food but they got a rush right before it rained and I think I was just hungry so it seemed like forever. The vibe is great. I’m sure will be so much better when the weather is nice. Definitely a great place to have a leisurely dinner and hang out with friends. Next time I might even bring the pup.
