I’m just beside myself. What Texas establishment doesn’t have a fire pit? I mean I deal with 100°F + days and I need a fire pit. ANDOMG that door guy that«smells» like poop is the nicest guy around. Oh and BTW my fingernails are totes dirty all the time because I work with my GD hands so I won’t judge anyone who does the same. I’ve frequented this place and never heard death metal. Non the less you’ve probably seen me dancing to Sinatra. The place has a jukebox so its not really bartenders choice unless they are tired of hearing you play nickleback on repeat. Bottom line its the best dive bar on this side town. #hatersgonnahate

It’s their 30 year anniversary party and they have free Crawfish. Need I say more? Parking is tight here! Both of their parking areas were full after I parked, I saw some unlucky soul daring to park in the business next door. They keep it dark inside, real dark. No windows. There’s a pool table inside, the bar has Tvs and washer pits outside. Everyone outside has a cigarette lit. Their outside stage(shed) is sweet. See picture. Not a bad little divey joint, & bartenders seemed jollier than most. Didn’t even charge me for my diet coke :)

I can’t really decide how I want to rate this place. I’ve been a total of two times. The first time, I loved this place! The bartender was a sweet girl who gave incredible service. She remembered our drinks every time we came back to the bar. The atmosphere was awesome. The second time, we brought some friends who just moved here from Chicago. We raved about this place! They just got their licenses changed to Texas and they were issued paper replacements. They were clearly over 21. As we walked in, the bartender screamed for our IDs. She then decided to argue with our friends about how Texas doesn’t issue paper IDs and was extremely rude about it. They showed their military ids and that wasn’t good enough. We are clearly over twenty one.(my husband is 41) She was over the top rude to us that we just left. We haven’t been back since and won’t if that bartender is there. It’s sad because the place is pretty cool.

I pass by here pretty much daily and decided to stop in one evening with a wheelchair bound friend and my boyfriend. Parking was easy for us(handicap) however someone did park their motorcycle in the pathway leading to the door so my wheelchair bound friend had to use the street(Congress!) to get to the front door. Super chill and laid back vibes inside with free food to have that was set up at a table near the bar. We didn’t have any food but we did drink. Prices were decent for Lonestars in cans and even though it had rain that evening we sat outside. My friend had a hard time getting over the hump/bump to go outside to the patio area but thanks to her power she has in her wheelchair, she was successful! Patio had more people hanging out outside verses inside. I would definitely come back and my wheelchair bound friend says she’s been there 2 more other times without me in tow. Good news for her too in that she lives down the street from this small bar!

The door guy sucks. He sucked. Basically a butthole on a high chair. He acted like he had all the power in the world captured within his skinny jeans and shitty vans. He smelled like poop. His fingernails were dirty. The place smells like urine and rat poop. Racist. Stupid idiots.

No, just NO! Sketchy, not welcoming, not friendly. Loud death metal music, no fire pit in the patio. I felt like I was on the set of Sons of Anarchy and not in a good way. I don’t get it. I like the idea of a neighborhood bar but this is not what I was expecting. Walked in, walked out.

My husband and I tracked down Rockadive food truck. To our surprise it was almost an hour from our hotel with traffic problems in Round Rock. Well we were determined to have a Polynesian meal for dinner. Pairing my strawberry slushy drink with my pulled pork sandwich made the night breezes fill with music and singing = the perfect Summer night with my Ronnie.

Great bar with the friendliest bartenders!!! Good local draft beers and good bottle beer selection. Also, the bathrooms are super clean and that’s always a plus

Came here on a whim on Easter Sunday and it was pretty dead for obvious reasons but I have been here on a Saturday night and enjoyed it. Drinks are reasonably priced and the bar tenders here aren’t schmucks from what I can tell and honestly work hard for every buck they earn. Crowd here is decent too as I feel it’s mostly a group of friends out to have fun rather then to get laid although I’m probably wrong about that! All in all this is a great bar for you south Austiners which is what I technically am. Oh they also have a stage outside for live music big surprise in this town right? Which reminds me the patio area is great for those warm summer nights we’re about to have. All the essentials are within driving distance for your after hour pre sex activities, I’m talking of course about a What A Burger and Taco C within driving distance dummy! Red Shed before you go to bed!

Clicking unless you’re going with a group of friends don’t bother but at least they have some nice patio space

I like this place. Very Austin. I like the mixer of people and the attitude is very uplifting and fun. Great place to grab a drink and mix and mingle with people.

This is my neighborhood bar and I am so lucky. The staff is incredibly friendly, and drinks have a great price tag. The atmosphere is welcoming and I could sit on their patio for hours(and I have). They have trivia night on Wednesdays and we always have a good time. The bands that I have seen there are always good!

At first impression it looks like a shady shed but your immediately greeted warmly by all the bartenders and staff, they act like they’re so glad you came to see them and it made my trip that much more memorable. Then you go outside and see their AWESOME backyard patio! I love it! I came back twice and made what felt like 10 – 15 new friends by the end of the night. You simply can’t get that anywhere in Virginia… I’m so sad that I can’t take this place or any of my new friends with me!

This place is great to just hang out with friends and listen to some great live music in the outdoor patio. Acoustics are great but not overly blaring so you can’t hear each other talk. The drinks are cheap and their weekday happy hour ends at 8PM which is awesome. Probably not the best spot when it’s raining out or if you want to watch a ball game on TV. This place is all about the outside patio, inside is tiny. My only suggestion is that they serve food or have a food truck on premise. There’s literally nothing around this place but a convenient store across the street. Despite this overall great spot.

Red Shed is your dirty secret you don’t want anyone else to know about. It is that little place on the corner that you drive past everyday and never think twice about going in. Red Shed is very chill. I have been going to this bar since l moved nearby a few years back. Although it is not my regular bar, it is my favorite nearby bar. Great vibe for a neighborhood bar filled with normal everyday people looking to laugh and have a good time. Once you go, you will be in on the secret as well. Located in what seems like a hidden little street off Congress, just north of Southpark Meadows this spot is a great place to grab a quick drink with friends and enjoy. Their prices are good, have pool tables, jukebox, cool bartenders, and bar. My favorite thing is the outside patio. Like a lot of us, it seems like I end up working indoors a lot, so I always love a good patio to sit out and drink with friends. If washers is your thing you are covered. Outdoor stage for music is always cool when they have acts on the weekends or during SXSW. There used to be a Pizza truck outside, but it appears to have taken off last time I was there. Hopefully a couple good new options replace it. Check this place out…

It’s just that: A shed, painted red, with beer inside. Enjoy cheap Lonestar, good specials, vintage boobies on the wall. The back area is strewn with lights and plenty of seating… There’s a stage where I have never ever once even seen a band even threaten to play a single note of music. But the stage is there. So that’s cool. I’ve seen the likes of «The Boondock Saints» and some movie where piranhas had invaded a lake to eat all the naked girls on the TV behind the bar. Super casual, kinda divey. The kind of bar I’d expect to find my grandma in. You don’t know my grandma. That means it’s cool.

i really like this bar now that i know where it is. I get a lunch box(lonestar+shot of Jameson) for only 5 $, hell yes. The pool tables inside are 1 $, the giant patio is great when its not cold and raining. Via 313 is outside to take your orders, or deliver it inside to you. I will frequent this bar. WOOT #200

Reconstruct an old building, throw some gravel in the back, hang up Bettie Page and all her friends inside and polish it up squeaky new and you have Red Shed! Red Shed is one of my favorite neighborhood bars it is on Congress, that is South people, you know, past all the cool stuff right down the road from the pick and pull. Red Shed has it all, plenty of space outside, a nice gravel area with picnic tables, tables with chairs, washers and the music is properly filtered outside so you can still hear it even at the farthest table. The drinks are reasonable, they have a good selection of brews, I am not sure about their liquor selection but it looks like there is a nice variety. Inside there are a few places to sit, a couple of booths and some bar stools at the bar but its mostly taken up with pool tables. That is fine by me, all the action is outside anyway. The bathrooms(well the ladies anyway) are always clean. The only reason I am not giving dear Red Shed five stars is their lack of live music. They have this awesome Barn stage in the back and you just know it would be amazing to see a live show there but I have never even seen it open! So that is my only beef Red Shed, lets get some bands down here, whaddya say?

We’ve been frequenting the Red Shed Tavern for quite awhile now & is a favorite whenever we’re barhopping on SoCo. Great atmosphere, good drink specials, & the jukebox has some variety(as long as it isn’t the same person selecting the various Salt ‘n Peppa hits I hear most times I stop by). We moved to Kyle recently, so now we frequent the Red Shed even more because their location(South Congress/Slaughter) is the closest South Austin bar to upper Hays County that’s NOT a family restaurant. That alone gives the place 5 stars in my opinion!
