In late March I started hearing noises of an unwelcome residence in the Attic. I spoke to people from various pest control services, and a few came out to gave estimates. Either their prices seemed too high(like the big local firm), their methodology seemed iffy, or they left out items in their proposals/estimates. I tried DIY remedies, but I think that I came to dislike 24-hour sessions of KLBJ-FM more than the racoons did! Then I spoke to Don of Rodent Relief. He came out — everything he told me and the answers that he gave seemed like he was knowledgeable, open and honest. I signed the contract with him on April 6th, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while! My house was a difficult situation for him(or any exterminator). The house was built in 1959. The maximum height of the attic is less than 3 feet, and there is no plywood down — just frame, sheetrock and insulation, and the entrance is about 11″ wide. In other words, going up to set traps was not a viable option. Don set traps on the roof and on the ground, and after a few days he caught a raccoon! Unfortunately, raccoons are quite intelligent, and the other one would not go into a trap, no matter what tastiness it was baited with, or were it was placed. He figured out that they were accessing the attic thru the north gable of the roof, and constructed exclusion devices, first on one, then the other gable after we figured out that they were using BOTH of them. A day or two after the second was made, they were all gone, so Don sealed up the gables — problem solved! What really impressed me was that, thru no fault of his own, this lasted for almost 6 weeks. Thru it all, he made trips to the house pretty much every day(if not, it was because I told him not to). Don’s perseverance thru this amount of time was very professional — not only was he very friendly, he made no complaints whatsoever. In closing, I can only say that I was VERY impressed with his services and knowledge, and would totally recommend his services if you are having pest issues.
