There is usually a Roppolo’s Pizzeria on Wheels sitting in the lot across from Volstead Lounge and Hotel Vegas on East(of I-35) Sixth targeting the departing patrons of both venues. While there’s nothing wrong with this Sicilian-style pizza, there also isn’t anything particularly impressive about it. Cheap, large slices of pizza always sounds appealing to the inebriated. The guy working here the last few times I’ve passed by might be a machine. He’s completely unphased by the antics of his customers and delivers slices and produces receipts with startling efficiency.

Roppolo’s Pizza brought their truck to serve delicious pizza at our school Halloween Carnival on October 18. They were on time… even got there early to get ready… cleaned their truck so it was ready to go. The owner came and stayed to make sure all was well. One of our other food trucks never showed up, so Roppolo’s made up the difference, going back to their store to get more pizzas to make sure our event didn’t run out of food. They served up hot, delicious pizza all night with a can-do attitude. The line moved quickly and people were happy. We will definitely ask them back to our Halloween Carnival next year. We highly recommend them.

Notice that every positive review of Roppolo’s says«I was drunk, but I think I remember it being good.» If you think the day-old rubber pie you had at Roppolo’s was actually good, you have a serious drinking problem. But what’s really unfortunate is the tourists and clueless students who eat at Roppolo’s are missing out on a chance to enjoy what is widely considered to be one of the best pizzas in Austin… Stony’s! The Stony’s truck was at that corner many years before Roppolo’s decided to stick their pizza truck at that same corner. Roppolo’s pizza is pre-made days before with fake cheese and is microwaved. Stony’s is fresh made with real cheese and fresh ingredients. And it’s absurd that come clueless people make the wrong choice and actually choose to eat Roppolo’s instead(but it is a bit cheaper…).

You can’t come to Austin without having a gooey NY style pizza slice from Roppolo’s at 3am! Crispy savory crust with pepperoni and jalapenos! This place definitely hits the spot after a night on dirty 6th!

Ok here it is… A while back they catered the Unilocal awards, and absolutely blew my mind. Like infinity times infinity. The pizza i had the first time must’ve been a fluke, every slice since then has rocked. Dough really tastes fresh, and had a great crunch. Just the right amount of sauce. Not watery or too thick. Had lunch from there recently… meat lover, and pepperoni mushroom. Delicious slices.

I tried their pizza and thought it was tasty. It wasn’t the best pizza ever, but it was better than Domino’s, Papa John’s and Little Caesars(so it was better than the national chain pizzerias). I thought they offered a good variety of pizza and the slices were big. Also, thought the crust was pretty good too. :)

Veggie pizza is a garlic lover’s dream. Not just for college kids late night, but truly gourmet pizza. Crust is perfect. The(new?) pizza rolls are crazy good too.

I cannot say enough about Marc Roppolo and his pizza. I am a wedding planner and we recently did an event where we catered the Roppolo’s trailer over to Lustre Pearl bar to serve pizza at the wedding. Marc was such a joy to work with! He went way above and beyond for us, and I truly hope I get the opportunity to work with him again in the near future. He is truly passionate about the food that he makes, and about the relationships he has with his clients. He made the whole process from booking him, to pulling up the trailer completely easy and painless. He is one of the most joyful people I have ever met. Not to mention that the pizza was unbelievable. THe slices were HUGE! His servers were extremely friendly and willing to make the guests any pizza they wanted! Everyone was raving about how great the pizza was all night long. I highly recommend Roppolo’s to anyone looking for a great caterer for the wedding or event, or for anyone just looking for a really amazing piece of pizza– their crust is unreal!

I’ve had Roppolo’s while drunk, I’ve had Roppolo’s while sober. It has never failed to disappoint! I love that the pepperoni isn’t overly salty like it is at most pizza places. My one complaint is the price. Seriously, $ 4+ for a slice? They know people are desperate after a night downtown.

I love all of the Roppolo’s pizzeria’s! I have been eating here since the late 90’s and it is a true Austin original! Come here if you truly want a taste of Austin!

Hello, friend. Are you drunk? Are you on 6th Street? Are you hungry? If you answered«yes» to at least two out of the three previous questions, then head over to Roppolo’s. That is all.

THe main great thing about Rapollo’s is the convenience. THere are a few of them in downtown Austin. Expect to pay a little over $ 4.00 for a slice of pizza with one topping on it. What was great was the service and it was during the SXSW music festival that I was in downtown Austin. Their service was impeccable as business was definitely operating at a peak seasonal level. I’d give the business a full five stars, but the pizza is just ordinary. There’s nothing spectacular about their pizza, in my opinion, but their service is impeccable.

don’t let the 3 stars fool you, Roppolo’s is awesome… the only reason I give it a 3 instead of 4 is that originality isn’t very high and they are many great original food trucks down off 6th street but the multiple locations are great!

So sometime this summer walking downtown i saw a roppolos food trailer across the street from the red river entrance to emo’s. i didn’t pay too much attention to it, and then i walked by it at the end of the night. they had a sign that read«all slices all toppings $ 2». This was not in my top ten pizzas until that night. I ordered a pepperoni and sausage slice, and since it was half the price of the walk in store, i thought it would be a really small slice. it was the normal slice which is about 1⁄5 to a ¼ slice of the pie. so i thought maybe it was the end of the night and they were trying to get rid of what they made. the next week i went by on a tuesday and it wasnt open. so i was right i thought. few days later went to a show on a thursday night and saw the trailer there again. this time it was early in the night so i went by to check and i wasn’t dreaming, $ 2 all slices again. since then i have found out they have been parking in that location thurs-sat and offering $ 2 slices for awhile. not sure how much longer they will offer that awesome price, but for the price, i think it is one of the best downtown cheap eats. not the greatest slice on earth, but when i am drunk it taste like the best thing since sliced pizza. so i guess its in my top 10 now, simply for value and location.
