The couple that served us were absolutely adorable and so much fun! The coconut curry sandwich is so freaking delicious!!! You can get it on rice or a pita. We have had both, and both are amazing. We also had some deep fried Oreos with this berry sauce… how can that be anything but yum?! I would definitely check this place out whenever you are downtown!

This was my second visit to Austin. My fiancé and I returned for the haunted houses near the mall. After our haunted house fun, we went to 6th st to drink the night away. We loved it last time so we came again in costume. After visiting several places, chugging some cocktails, and downing shots, I got the drunk munchies and needed something to eat. We decided to walk back to our car(he was good to drive of course) and find a restaurant to go to. As luck would have it, we had to pass the corner where Grindhouse was. As we were walking by, an angel carrying a tray of free coconut curry chicken samples stopped us and offered us a sample. I wasn’t in the mood for that kind of food, but I though«hey it’s a free sample, why not?». I took a bite and lo and behold I was floored. I swear time must have stopped for a while. I stopped dead in my tracks, turned around and drunkenly walked towards the truck like a zombie on Walking Dead who got a scent of human flesh. I ordered the coconut curry chicken wrap and patiently, yet eagerly, waited for my food. Once I finally got the precious I downed it like it was the last bit of food on earth. The flavor was perfectly on point, the chicken was warm and juicy, the spices were superb, the wrap was soft and tender. It was just perfect. I still crave it to this day. I am returning to Austin this weekend. I hope they’ll be working this weekend. PLEASE be there Grindhouse. I need the precious again.

Thanks for coming to my work on such a sucky day! Awesome food, Coconut Curry Chicken does rock! Personal preference, would be for it to be a bit saucier so when doing the rice bowl it balances. Great friendly peeople.

There comes a time in every man’s life when stumbles out of Barbarella. He has the the hunger. And this is not his first time… or second… or third. So this man, he wanted something different. No pizza. No Wraps. This man, alright whatever. I was rounding the corner on 6th and Red River when I heard«Want to sample our Coconut Curry Chicken?» Of course I want a sample. I walk over to the window and there is some chatting, and some«How was your night?», and then there was the Coconut Curry Chicken. DEARGODTHECOCONUTCURRYCHICKEN. I did not want A wrap. I wanted THIS wrap. Half way through the wrap I felt like a person again, and realized that not only was the wrap delicious, but the lady behind the window and the other guy walking around were super friendly. Genuinely. And in the midst of the drunken haze that comes with being outside of Barbarella on a Thursday, I was very impressed. Alas, all the good things come to an end. As I finished the last bite of saucy, sriracha-y, goodness I realized that although I had to struck out in Barbarella, I looked forward to sharing my love of Coconut Curry Chicken with a lucky lady sometime in the future. Until next time, Grindhouse.

Wow! I am blown away by this place. Draws you in with it’s festive lighting and sleek design, then keeps you there when you smell that food! AHH I guess due to its location most people don’t remember to review the food in the morning — but I wrote myself a note! :P Their chicken melts in your mouth. It is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy — and when they add the coconut curry souce OR the pineapple sauce — Your eyes will roll in the back of your head. Seriously never had anything like these wraps. Well they call them wraps, but I swear it is a new breed of food! Half taco, half pita, half wrap — 150% delicious. Check out the bowls too. That rice is DANK.
