Good BBQ food and I agree with other reviews that the brisket is so moist and full of flavor. Check out the creamed corn which is great.

Loved the comforting service. Tell them it’s your first time and they’ll literally give you a sample of everything on the menu! Dining was an indoor picnic type set up and I enjoyed the casualness of it. After you order your food, it comes with complimentary bread. Run out of bread? No worries, just go to the front and they’ll give you some more for free. I even saw a family take a whole loaf of bread to the table. Food. Everything is great, EVERYTHING. Came with my family so we ordered a little but of everything and shared it on the table. But if you only got one thing. Brisket. Brisket on point. Will be back EVERYTIME I visit Austin! And to end this review? EXTRAMOISTBRISKETPLEASE! My tummy is rumbling just thinking about it.

I love Rudy’s. In my opinion there are three Austin area barbecues(BBQ) that stand out and Rudy’s surpasses the competition. Their brisket alone should end the conversation, but the ribs are the best as well. Sausage is on par with other BBQ places. Great side dishes, great fun staff behind the counter and cutting, and plenty of room. I usually get the cutter’s choice and they choose well. Not the cheapest place you could eat, but definitely one of the best, and if you want the best then you should be willing to pay the extra $ 2 or $ 3 for lunch.

«The worst BBQ» as the sign says, and if that is the case then the best must be lethally good. The food here is fantastic. The moist brisket is not to be missed, My wife loves the spicy chopped, and the cream corn. Also be sure to try the rib eye, as it has a nice smokey flavor and is a pretty hearty piece of meat. Service is fast and friendly, the potato salad is good, and the ribs are moist and flavorful, the sauce is a perfect compliment to the flavors of the meat. We have had almost everything on the menu, and have yet to be disappointed with any of our choices. The absolute best however is the moist brisket.

Love the breakfast tacos and sauces. The lean brisket is very moist and the bbq sauce is legendary. Their quality is always consistent.

This is great barbecue. Moist brisket is my favorite. However, my favorite things about this place are as follows: *When you tell them it’s your first time, and they make a big deal about you. *CREAMEDCORN. I would bathe in this. *The hand washing jacuzzi is the best my hands have ever felt. Regular sinks are a disappointment from here on out. I love this place. Every time we head to Texas we make sure to stop by. I wish creamed corn held up in the mail.

Rudy’s is great BBQ. They pride themselves on great service with a smile. It’s so hard to pass up the brisket for anything else, but the sausage, ribs, and turkey are fantastic too. At least get a sample of the prime rib. Mix in some famous cream corn!

A solid choice for a BBQ dinner, especially on a family outing. I’ve eaten a fair amount of BBQ if you check out my other reviews; Rudy’s is very convenient to where I live and I’ve worked my way through a lot of their menu over time. Standouts include the moist brisket, the chicken, and the wonderfully tingly spiced chop. I find all of their food uniformly very good, only nosed out by the ultimate artists working at my all-time favorite joints. Special mention should be given to the staff, who actively engage you and direct the choices for those unfamiliar with how the system works. Said system allows for them to work a little like a Texas-themed cafeteria, which due to the number of people(especially families) can result in a very loud experience. Then again, fine dining and individual booths aren’t what you come to BBQ for! This place gets 4 stars on the ‘CTJ Scale’, as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing on after finishing a meal here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK being seen eating here by Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus’ Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn’t have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn’t have my penultimate supper here, either.

Just snagged 20 lbs of uncut turkey, lean brisket and my personal fav fatty brisket. Headed back to Emma Long park where the local burn ban brought my massive charcoal and mesquite plan to a screeching halt. Moments later — big success as I cut all the meat and 25 people party for hours. Damn! Rudy’s always pulls through. Sunday — still eating BBQ for breakfast! Leaving with two briskets. Thats why uncut works better for me. Order trimmed and uncut if its sitting for a while. Pull it out of your pit and act like its yours!!! I love buying uncut meat from them. We even do this for Christmas Eve afternoon. 9⁄18: Rudy’s thanked me for my review! Thats smart that they are reading all reviews 9⁄25: OMG! Rudy’s just thanked me for thanking them on 9⁄18. This is how s business is run.

I came here for breakfast tacos. We ended up getting a potato and egg breakfast taco and pigs in a blanket. Both were tasty. The location was very clean and the staff were friendly, even though it was early about 7 a.m. and they were busy. The breakfast selection is what was offered at that time of the day, however I’ve been to this particular location for lunch and dinner and the brisket, creamed corn, turkey, sausage, and spicy jalapeño sausage are all on point. Highly recommend dining at this location for a great experience! Rudy’s bbq is a classic based out of Austin, TX.

All I can say is they never disappoint. They really do have incredible bbq! A great go to when you dint want to wait in line at Franklins… haven’t been there but can’t see how it could be that much better!

How can you not like Rudy’s. If you’re in need of gasoline and a quick bite then don’t pass Rudy’s up. The food is well inline with many of the full restaurants serving BBQ. Meat is fresh, well cooked and juicy if that’s how you like it. But i guess you can order the«Lean» if fat frightens you. Btw, fat doesn’t make you fat. :) Anyway, grab some brisket with your next fill up and tell them how you liked it…

Moist. There, let that word sink in. You hate it, don’t you? It actually makes me laugh, but then again, I’ve got the sense of humor of a 12-year-old boy. Moist. That’s the word used most frequently at Rudy’s during my visit here. «Hey, do you want the moist?» I ask my brother. «Yeah, let’s get the moist. We’ll order a pound of the moist,» my brother tells the associate behind the cashier. «Okay, the moist,» says the Rudy’s associate. «A pound of moist. Anything else?» Oh, yes. Everything at Rudy’s is divine. I could eat two pints of the creamed corn by myself, and the sausage is pretty delicious with the potato salad. But it’s the Rudy’s BBQ sauce that really tips the scales. Yum! MOIST. I hear that word again and the customer standing next to us snickers as he orders the moist brisket. His girlfriend rolls her eyes, so he says it again. «Moist.» huh-huh I must have heard that word at least a dozen times today. And when I got home, my family exclaimed, «Wow, Rudy’s! What’d you get, the moist?» Make that 13 times.

Visiting my childhood friend in Austin for the long weekend. This was the first place she took me. She swears by this restaurant. I’ll admit feeling out of place as soon as I walked in. FYI I’m from NYC. As soon as you walk in you need to wash your hand and after doing so you get a sticker. I thought that was cool. Anything that is different is cool in my book. I ordered ¼ choice beef sandwich with cole slaw and cream corn. DELICIOUS!!! I was very much impressed. I recommend this to anyone who lives in Austin AND visitors. Friendly customer service. Our cashier went out of her way to make sure she could communicate well with us. My friend and I are Deaf. Overall a positive experience for me.

I’m going to keep this review pithy and epigrammatic since so much good has already been said in previous reviews. Extra moist brisket– absolutely delicious I’m hooked. This location particularly gas a edge on the Rudy’s on 360 I used to frequent. Enough fat for flavor and the brisket is close to melt in your mouth tender. As I’ve come to learn with Texas ‘cue good brisket doesn’t need sauce. Now you won’t find burnt brisket here for those of you that like a carbon crust. St. Louis ribs — the meat fell of the bone nice flavor, this is go. Overall really great consistent barbecue, the line moves fast and they never run out, you can always sample before you buy as well. Within context I can’t compare this to a spot like Franklin’s, because I could never have my patience out last the long line. This barbecue is great within comparison of barbecue spots that doesn’t have out of this world lines for barbecue. However do be wary that during lunch it does get packed but like I mentioned the line moves quickly unless you have a newbie in front of you, because then there’s a welcome chant from the servers.

Fantastic food. Everything is absolutely delicious. Every time we have family in town this is one of the first places we bring them to and they absolutely fall in love. Fantastic service. Everyone is super friendly and helpful! I asked for a to-go box and one of the employees offered to wrap everything for me even though it wasn’t his job! Fantastic restaurant! Quick and delicious! Rudy’s provides you with a fun and unique dining experience with its picnic tables and paper as «plates». You can never go wrong with Rudy’s!

Good bbq for a great price! The moist brisket is a must as is the slaw. I wish I could make the slaw that shredded! Tried the corn thing for the first time and it was great. Haven’t had cream corn like that! Also picked up some extra bbq sauce. I only wish the meat wasn’t so salty, but o well. That’s bbq. :)

Tip: Tell them you’re a newbie and they will introduce you to the menu! I liked that the portions were expensive enough that you don’t gorge on huge portions(see Salt Lick). Unlimited sauces and useful condiments. Will come if I crave. Especially for that marbled brisket!
