The people that work here are so kind, it makes you want to return as a customer. The BBQ is delicious, and their pulled pork tacos are THEBOMB!

My go-to neighborhood BBQ stop. My family eats in at Dickey’s at least every couple of weeks, and we pick up orders to go on cold evenings when we just don’t feel like cooking. Great pulled pork, and the absolute best turkey of any place in Central Texas. Baked potato casserole is my favorite of several sides. Friendly staff suggested using it as a base instead of a baked potato for a pork«Stuffed Baker» — awesome result. I have used take-out catering for two family functions of over 25 guests, and gotten raves each time. Order was correct, ready on time, and hot when we got it home. Great job, Dickey’s!

Everything I had tasted bad and greasy. Sauce was runny. Green beans nasty. I will not be back.

Great food no matter what time we get there. Stephanie is great with all of the customers and very attentive. Love this place. We go there at least three times a month.

This place was fantastic. Not only was the food great but the customer service was unbelievably great! The employee cutting the brisket and making my order was one of the nicest people I’ve encountered when out grabbing food. It was actually really refreshing. As for the food, wow. I had the Westerner sandwich with brisket and pulled pork with a side of their awesome baked potato casserole. I highly recommend that sandwich to anyone undecided on what to get. Enjoy!

I do not care what other reviews say. I went here this morning as soon as the doors opened and ordered brisket and baked potato casserole and macaroni cheese. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding! Not to mention they have free ice cream. I can’t think of anything that they should change except the Help Wanted sign from a distance almost looks like a For Rent sign. Very pleasant experience!

This place is… amazingly GOOD. I’ll admit that I was concerned about coming here due to the a) number of ‘meh’ reviews about the service, and b) the fact that it’s a chain in a mini-strip mall. Count me as pleasantly surprised when I stopped in, had the 3-meat plate special, and was surprised at how darned good the food is. Special mention must be made to the service and the cleanliness of the place. Granted I was there about an hour after the lunch rush but it’s still appreciated. The brisket easily meets the standards of Rudy’s or County Line, edged out only by the real masters at places in Lexington, Spicewood, or downtown. The pulled pork is very good, and the BBQ chicken is delish as well. To my amazement I also have to say that this establishment places in the top five when it comes to delicious BBQ sides. Where the Salt Lick has its cobblers, Opie’s its butter beans, and County Line has it’s fresh bread, Dickey’s mac n’ cheese is a piping-hot wonder. I will definitely be back for seconds. This place gets 4 stars on the ‘CTJ Scale’ as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing on after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK being seen eating here by Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus’ Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn’t have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn’t have my penultimate supper here, either.

Wow! A hidden BBQ gem! When planning my birthday party, I called several ‘highly’ recognized BBQ places… one said they were too busy(so why give them business) another place, placed me on hold for 20 minutes! The rest were just too far and high in price… Anyway, when I called Dickey’s on RR620& Anderson Mill, it was refreshing to speak with someone who was friendly and wanting to help. I still called 2 other places(due diligence kind a girl) but, I still decided to go with Dickey’s because of the service. I was invited to the store front for a tasting. I decided on the brisket, chicken, sausage and pork ribs… can we say ‘yummy?!’. I had 25 satisfied guests at my party who are definitely Dickey’s BBQ fans now. Been back twice since then, and will continue to go there for my BBQ fix. The place is clean, you can tell it’s new and I truly hope everyone has the opportunity to experience this place and give it a chance to thrive. I’m not a fan or turkey or sausage, but can vouch for the moist brisket, chicken and ribs!

We ate here last wednesday. it just wasnt good. we arrived around 2pm so it wasnt busy. we had a family pack. sausage was good, but the chicken was dry and the brisket was shredded mess. seriously NO pieces to actually pick up. i do love the ice. but thats about it we had never been here before, they serve the meats on a tray but then we realized what are we supposed to eat on. asked for a plate or tray girl seemed irritated biscuits/rolls were hard. my son loves to make bbq sandwiches with the bread these were so small more like sliders. and hard. it just wasnt good

Awful! First and last time, we won’t be back! Started off with a woman behind the counter with a bad attitude, she made it obvious she didn’t want to be there. Asked a couple of questions because we had never been and was made to feel like an idiot. Ordered our food which was pulled out of a warmer behind the counter and looked like it had been there for a week, not even close to fresh. The cheese sausage was terrible. The brisket was only marginally better. Nothing was hot, only slight warm making me wonder if things are even being kept at the appropriate holding temperatures. My kids almost refused to eat dinner at all! They ate only because they get«free ice cream» which turned out to be a watery mess anyway. We left with stomach aches and they certainly weren’t from over eating! Gross!

Really great meal at an affordable price. No one there which worried us for a Friday night, hope they survive the BBQ snobs of Austin. Good quality and generous portions. Will definitely come back.

First trip to this location was great, second not so much. Stood at counter few minutes before being acknowledged, ordered a giant baker with chopped beef to go. Got home potato so hard I can’t eat it, had sliced beef, which turned out good since that’s all I could eat. Don’t get a baker! The meat is great though!

The brisket sandwich is pretty good, wish it was a little bigger. Coleslaw is chopped pretty small, but the flavor is lacking. I mix the sweet and spicy sauce, which I think has a good flavor together.

Easily the worst bbq I have ever tried. I have lived near this Dickey’s for 5 years and finally gave it a try. I was the only one in the place when I walked in at 7:30 pm on a Monday evening. I ordered a «little less than half a pound» and asked for«very moist». I was told I must order in ¼ pound increments so I ordered a half a pound. The slicer made no attempt to cut me any«moist» meat. There was almost zero fat(I like fatty brisket) and it was dry. I asked if they serve it with bread and was told they serve it with a small biscuit. When I checked out, no biscuit. I asked for one and was reluctantly served a biscuit. It looked good but tasted bland and consistency was hard. Also no pickles, jalapeño or onions are served with the meat and there is none at the condiment/drink area. I do not recall ever being to a bbq joint that did not have pickles, onions and jalapenos. I’m not a huge fan of sauce but I usually try a little(with my bread). The regular sauce was terrible. The spicy wasn’t too bad, although it did not seem very fresh. The meat was so poor and I was so hungry that I dipped in in the sauce and decided to just eat it and not cause trouble. With all the good bbq joints how does one this bad stay in business? There is a Rudy’s several miles down 620 and if I have a bbq craving near my house again that is where I’ll go. BBQ is not cheap. I don’t mind paying for good food but $ 7.31 for a half pound of lousy meat is not my idea of value and not my idea of a good meal. Hope this review saves some of you the disappointment I experienced tonight.

We recently discovered the Dickies Barbecue on N FM620! It is outstanding! The chicken and turkey melt in your mouth and the brisket is lean and tender. the service is good and the staff is always pleasant. Kids eat free on Sunday and we are now taking our grandkids most Sundays. An added bonus is the free ice cream for dessert!

Dickey’s BBQ began way back in 1941 just outside of downtown Dallas. After opening franchises in 1994, the family owned Dickey’s now has locations all across the U.S. Having stated that, the food is always pretty consistent. Now, we all know it’s not fair to compare this chain restaurant Q to the OG pit masters scattered across Texas; however, when in the mood Dickey’s has many convenient locations, the BBQ is solid, and the prices are right. This particular location is great. Even when they are slammed, the staff is super friendly… always receive great customer service. The three meat plate is a hit at 14 bucks, and served with choice of 2(from about a dozen) sides, buttery rolls, pickles, and free soft serve ice cream whenever you want. The three meat can easily be split between two people = super cheap eats! The brisket has some major dark bark on it with the prettiest little pink smoke ring and flavor. On occasion, I’ve even been lucky enough to get some burnt ends. Yum! The turkey is moist and tasty with great flavor on the skin. All the sides are good ol’ country style fixins; however, the slow cooked grean beans are a favorite(bacon makes everything better!). I did mention comp ice cream, right? So, if you’re craving some good Q and are in an area of the country that’s not known for it, look up a Dickey’s and I doubt you’ll be disappointed. ***HUGE snaps for Dickey’s NOT using nasty Styrofoam ! They use cardboard trays and cups with plastic lids — all recyclable. Tip: Kids eat free on Sundays.

I have only gone here once, so my review is very limited to what I ordered. Their bbq brisket was fantastic!!. You can request dry or wet brisket. Go with the wet! Their bread they make to go with it is seriously incredible. They were stingy on the onions and pickles but I did arrive right at closing time. I had cole slaw which tasted exactly like kfc. Nice little place, very friendly service. Decent prices. Will update more when I go back, which will be very soon!

Went to Dickey’s for the first time this weekend. I had heard a lot about this place, but just never made it in to eat there. Honestly, their food was pretty good, but they are pretty proud of their bbq. Did not feel like we got a lot of food for what we paid. My wife had the pulled pork plate, and I got a smoked potato with pulled pork and cheese. My potato was supposed to have onion strings in it… but didn’t seem to have them. Kids had brisket and sausage. Brisket was pretty good. Had a nicely flavored bark, and wasn’t dry or tough. The sausage, however… was just odd. Did not have much color to it, and was really overcooked. Just didn’t taste good. Kid’s sides were not bad… mac and cheese was a little heavy on the cheese powder… Baked potato casserole was good, though. Despite having a few bright spots, the so-so food, coupled with the high prices really sunk this place for me. Honestly, for the money… Rudy’s kills this place.
