Ordered a couple coffees at the airport location only to get on the plane and have them be undrinkable because the coffee had a burned taste to it. Customer service wasn’t helpful to me.

Great coffee and fast delivery by mail-order. I have been drinking their organic dark roast coffee for about 8 years now and it beats everything else including Starbucks-in my opinion. I buy the beans and grind as needed. They respond fast for on-line orders too. They have been hit badly by the recent floods in the Austin area, however I will gladly be patient and order once they are back in operation which may be a couple weeks.

Always love the coffee but service was horrible. I said hello and received a state back. Not the normal friendly great place I have been used to.

Wait a minute, let me brew you a fresh batch because we just ran out Solid, good quality black coffee! The temperature was a little too warm but otherwise it was great!

Solid coffee with beans primarily from Mexico, so the coffee has a milder, smoother and less bitter taste than most coffee from Starbucks, etc who like to use African beans, which are much harsher and bitter in my opinion. I personally tend to prefer Venezuelan, Columbian and Mexican beans over African coffee beans, so this is preferable to me over other coffee spots. Probably the best coffee in the airport and I might give them a higher rating, but I’m used to outstanding coffee from places in NYC like La Colombe, Stumptown and Grumpy’s, so makes it tough for me to give Ruta Maya a higher rating. But, nonetheless, very good coffee, and if you’re in the Austin airport, you should go here over other places.

7am Saturday. The line is approximately 12 deep and they have three employees sleep-walking. Already seen a few people simply give up waiting. The coffee is good, but you better not be in a rush to catch your flight

3rd Monday in a row, their espresso machine is still broken:-(. I would expect a airport business to be more responsible with serving customers with a coffee of their choice especially in a Monday morning. They don’t seem to care !

I’m so happy to have in my hands a delicious double dirty chai and a muffin from Quack’s Bakery! I have a long day of flights ahead of me, it’s awesome that there’s a place like this in the airport. The barista was friendly and cheery, and asked how dirty I wanted my iced chai. They also sell Kind bars and Brookside dark chocolate-covered goji berries, the perfect airplane snacks! Prices were average for Austin; they do charge extra for soy milk but that’s okay!

Beware: Pay cash — do not use your credit card here. I was on a business trip and made a purchase on June 20. They did not post the charge to my credit card until July 31. My workplace will not reimburse me, now that the month has been closed out. I get Ring No Answer at the number listed. Disappointing…

Wow. Bad service. Tried to buy a coffee for five minutes, and 5 of them behind the counter seemed not to want to help me, or the gal in front of me. So I went over to Austin Java. It was great!

Excellent selection of baked goods by a local baker in Austin, but the counter service was slow.

This quick stop was awesome. Other then the fact our peanut butter and jelly sandwich. However, the bread was amazing. It was a good break/layover until we went home.

Instead of Starbucks you will see Ruta Maya everywhere. A great spot to chill while waiting for your flight. p

This is a good café to check out if you have a layover in Austin. The coffee is great and the pastries are plentiful!

Ruta Maya seems to be the best coffee at this airport, by an Austin based company. Normally you see Starbucks everywhere else in airports and there ain’t one here. Pleasant to see a local company instead of a mega chain. Even while everything is more expensive once inside the zone of security, the coffee was a nice value and this was a fun find.

So, I would say that my rating of this is probably not going to be 100% accurate because I just stopped at a little stand that happened to serve this coffee… AND if you walked a little further, you would find the actually like Ruta Maya coffee shop. The coffee was good, nice bold taste. Nicely priced, I think my large was $ 3? The coffee beans are sold in a cute canvas sac, which adds a nice little effect. The stand was dirty and understaffed. They didn’t use organic milk and no stevia in their sweetner selection. Overall, it is good for a quick grab and go coffee!

The Austin Airport just does it right. With its careful selection of local eateries and caffeine fuel stops(Ruta Maya and Fara), this travel hub provides anyone with a good smattering of Austin tradition, whether you are looking for ATX-rooted coffee, breakfast, or BBQ. If you are on the way through AUS, RM would afford you the opportunity to see what the company has to offer but on a smaller scale. The original outpost boasts an enormous facility, what with performers, plenty of community-building activities, and a hodgepodge of assorted beverages. Here, you will find it to offer the simpler things in the coffee realm.
