Sam’s food hasn’t changed, but the prices have all gone up about a dollar a sandwich. I can’t justify paying $ 9.69 for an ordinary bacon cheeseburger, frozen fries, and iced tea.

I tried this place because it is right next door to my office. It was ok but nothing special. I had a burger both times and it seemed like it was just a frozen patty from heb or something. Didn’t taste bad but I’ve definitely had better and there are lots of places near by that are better. The food is pretty cheap and maybe my opinion will change if I have their breakfast tacos… I’ll update if it does.

This true treasure of an Americana grill is located in the basement of the Wells Fargo Building. Just enter through the building lobby and find the elevator and go to the basement. Follow the signs from the elevator you won’t miss it. I had 2 breakfast tacos, and a cup of coffee the other day. I was very suprised on the freshness and quality. My order was NOT a breafast taco made the night before and reheated but made on the spot with quality Ingredients. The Hotsauce was some of the better Ive had in awhile. Coffee was not fantastic but was still good, but hey if I wanted a 5 dollar cup of coffee I would of gone to the starbucks across the street. Service is super friendly and the wait for my food was very short. Very Clean resturant to eat at. All in all I will definatly be back for lunch sometime in the near future They have good reviews on here for a reason. If i get food and service this great after a few visits they will get 5 stars.

So this place is just down the street from where I work, and I always see their sign outside the building. After realizing that they serve veggie burgers(I’m on a permanent quest to find the best veggie burger in Austin), I decided to get a take-out order a few weeks ago. They had my food ready pretty quickly, and I took it back to my office to eat. I had ordered a veggie burger with just lettuce and pickles, which was supposed to come with fries. my veggie burger had everything on it and they gave my chips instead of fries. Boo! It would have been fine if they’d just put on tomatoes or something easy to pick off, but it’s hard to get rid of ketchup and mustard. The food was pretty average, other than the fact that my order was wrong. This place is pretty inexpensive, but you can easily find better quality food in the area for the same price.

We’ve been here a few times since Sam’s Grill opened. I haven’t been for breakfast, but they do serve it– along with lunch. It is definitely much more organized and consistent since it first opened. Back then, there was confusion with ordering– now the process is simple and straightforward. You order, take your ticket number, and wait for your number to be called… but typically, the staff knows who ordered what, which is kind of a nice touch. My preferred meal? The grilled ham and cheese– yum. They actually use a thicker cut of ham compared to most other places & the hoagie roll is definitely something different when you think about grilled cheeses of any kind. They do have a variety of sides to choose from, which is cool. The food isn’t like super-über fancy, but it is a step up from cafeteria food– yanno, good for lunch, that sort of thing. I think the real reason for the 4 stars is definitely for the friendliness of the people working there. There’s just something that can be said for walking out of a place on your lunch break and the staff all saying goodbye and come again. Like everyone. I love it when I actually feel like I exist and it definitely makes me want to come back again.

I’ve spent the past month working in the well’s fargo building, and Sam’s has become one of my go-to locations. The food is consistantly good, the staff is friendly, and the owner(Sam) actually works the grill. I especially like the breakfast burrito and the roast beef sandwich.

This place is in the basement of the Wells Fargo Tower at 15th& Guadalupe. I’ve only had the breakfast taco, but it is delicious and Ive had it several times. Your choice of meat(bacon, sausage, and ham maybe) with any/all of: potato, egg, cheese, onion and salsa. It is larger than normal breakfast tacos, and is worth the $ 2.71.
