So it’s a store in the mall. Overrun with kids looking at shoes.
«Hi there! Just so you know we have a special going on right now– buy one get one 25% off!»
Oookay. Thanks for that. So, anyway, you take a look around the tiny little store, packed with teenagers trying on shoes. You find the mens’ section. Definitely full of not so great shoes like they used to make. The boyfriend frowns. The shoes don’t have a lot of support in them, but–
«Hi you guys! Can I help you find anything?»
Umm… no… Just looking here. Trying to do a review, too.
«Well just so you know– everything is buy one, get one 25% off!»
Ooookay. Thank you again. So where were we? Ah yes, the shoes. We turn around to look at the womens’ shoes and are surrounded by teenage girls squealing over this or that shoe looks cute. Me? I’m just seeing if maybe I can find something I can wear to–
«Hey you guys. Just so ya know, you can get a pair and get another one 25% off. Just lemme know if you have any questions.»
That was when we walked out unimpressed. Yes, it is a store in the mall, albeit a small store. Since we kind of stick out, you’d think clerks wouldn’t need to repeat themselves. However, what you’d assume is wrong.
After all, this is a store in the mall. Overrun with teens looking at shoes.

So, I kept seeing these advertisements for Shape Ups sneakers by Skechers and did some investigating and new I had to have a pair. A shoe designed to promote weight loss, tone muscles and improve posture — oh yeah I walk at least 8 hours a day at work sounds great! «Shape Ups feature a kinetic wedge insert and dynamic rolling bottom to stimulate walking barefoot in the sand» and supposedly «improves posture, strengthens the back, tightens abdominal muscles, firms buttocks muscles, reduces cellulite and tones thighs and firms calf muscles.» I can not confirm any of that other than that my calves were throbbing after a 30 minute brisk walk with the dog AND they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever put my feet in! They are so cushy and bouncy I feel like a cheerleader! I am holding back on 5 stars for the shoes as they were 110.00 for not the cutest ever Mary Janes; but, if they do all they say I will be updating to 5 stars.
The customer service was a full 5 stars! I called last night just before closing to inquire if they had the MJ style and the guy offered to check on my size. When I arrived today PJ was over the top helpful and accommodating and informative. All the employees working today were super educated on the shoes they were selling and all of them were wearing Shape Ups and raving not about the toning or weight loss benefits but about how comfortable they are «when you are on your feet all day» and that they are for sure!
