I needed repairs on a custom, silk jacket, including zipper. SoCo Cleaners did a perfect job, reasonably priced, and on time.

Job well done. I will use them again for dry cleaning.

Took my wife’s wedding dress there. It took about 2 weeks. $ 245, but it was cleaned and presented in a nice box. Will I ever do anything with it? Probably not, but instead of just hanging in the closet taking up room, it is nicely boxed.
Parking can be a little hassle because of where the store is located, but there were plenty of spots in the parking garage behind the store front.

My cat peed on my leather jacket. I always thought that cat pee was a dry cleaners’ kryptonite, but SoCo was up to the challenge. They cleaned my jacket and restored it to its pre-​pee condition! These guys worked some serious magic– highly recommend!

I’ve been going here for about a year now. I do both dry cleaning and alterations for myself and my husband. I have had dresses and gowns altered, pants hemmed and anything that needs dry cleaning, cleaned here. I’ve never been let down and every time, it’s perfect. They tailor the clothes to my body and I leave with garments that fit like a glove. I’m pretty picky and don’t like spending a lot in alterations, but they have great prices and superb service. It’s definitely worth it to visit for any alterations or cleaning.

Took two long sleeved collared shirts to get them to fit better. I recently had to update my wardrobe because most of my long sleeved shirts and too short a sleeve and were tight. The new shirts I bought were too big. I went in to get the waist line reduced. The man at the counter also noticed that my sleeves were too long and the sleeve was too wide so he recommended that I shorted those too. I took him up on the offer. The cost was $ 25 a shirt and would be ready next week Thursday. There is parking on the side of the street (usually full, but you get lucky).
I didn’t get a call on Thursday so I called them on Saturday and they said my shirts were ready. I picked them up on Monday and tried them on. They made me look amazing for a potential job interview. I paid in Cash (they take credit cards too).
I would definitely come here again for an alteration.

Customer service here is AMAZING! If I could give them 50 stars I would. I just dropped off my wedding dress and my partners suit to be altered. They were nothing but professional, kind, and helpful.
They explained everything and really went the extra mile to ensure the alterations that were being made were exactly what we wanted. (No small task tailoring a men’s suit to a female)
I cannot WAIT to pick up our pieces.

Tom is truly a God send!!! I went to Tom two weeks before my wedding to see if he could help with some alterations with my dress. I had already had it altered, but was told the one part that I wanted fixed was impossible because of all the lace on my dress. Tom had my dress finished within the week and had fixed everything I was having issues with. He actually had to cut the lace, fix the alterations and then hand sew the lace back together. It truly turned out beautiful and better than I could have ever imagined! Thank you Tom for being so incredible! I highly recommend him!!!

I came across SoCo cleaners on Unilocal.I am quite picky with where I take my clothes for dry cleaning. But because of the raved reviews of this place, I decided to give SoCo cleaners a try.
The location is right at the Berkshire SoCo apartments so your best bet is to park on the street.
I came here for two visits so far. The first time was for dry cleaning. They did a good job and price was very reasonable.
The second time was to have alternations done for a couple items. The owner helped us pin exactly what we needed to take in. The items turned out great, however one of our dress shirts could have been taken in a tad bit more. The price was also very reasonable to have items altered here. I had called around for quotes, but SoCo cleaners was definitely the clear winner.
Overall, SoCo Cleaners was a pleasant experience and I will definitely be back with more items to clean/​altered.

I dropped off my jacket on Saturday and they said it would be ready Tuesday morning. And it was and it looked really good. I don’t have anything bad or great to say but they did a good job. I will be back. I do like that they are open for part of the day Saturday because have to wear my jacket every Friday and Tuesday so that helps me get it cleaned over the weekend.

I was really, really, really nervous to have my wedding dress cleaned. I had splurged on a handmade custom wedding dress because I wanted to have an heirloom to pass down to my future children or grandchildren. The top half is heavily beaded and it also has a beaded illusion back, neckline, and sleeves and I was terrified that a cleaning would completely destroy it. I waited for two years but I couldn’t do nothing forever– my dress needed help.
When deciding to splurge on what I was hoping to be an heirloom for future generations, I didn’t take into account all of the wear and tear one day of celebration would have on it. My reception took place in part on the grounds of a Polo Field so there was grass, dirt, and God knows what in the bottom hem of my dress. Additionally, a wedding guest had accidentally spilled white wine down the front of me during a congratulatory hug. However, my dress needed more than just a good cleaning, it also needed repairs; when I was dancing, I raised one of my arms up too high and I tore one of the delicate beaded capped sleeves. My poor dress was a mess.
Enter Tom the ‘Wedding Dress Cleaning and Repair Guru’.
He tried his best to calm my fears when he accepted my dress, two lace beaded pillows, two embroidered veils, and one unused (but matching) garter belt to be cleaned. I was still nervous.
Three business days later he texted me– my dress was ready to be picked up! I wasn’t expecting it to be done so quickly and I rushed over to get it.
The dress, pillows, veils, and unused garter belt were nicely wrapped in acid-​free paper, resting in a big box with a window so you can see the dress in the front of it. He carefully took out the dress so that I could see his handiwork. I couldn’t even see where it had been ripped, spilled on, or dragged through the mud– my dress looks new and sparkly clean!
Tom did an amazing job and far exceeded my expectations. Thank you so much Tom for restoring my dress!

First and foremost, I stumbled across SoCo Cleaners as I was looking for a place to have my silk dupioni drapes dry cleaned. I had been told by every place from south austin to round rock that they would not touch silk drapes. unfortunately, my parents dogs had peed on them and I did not want to give up looking. enter tom.
tom told me over the phone it could be done and to bring them in so he could look at them. they were both double panels so I was really nervous about the price. he looked at the stain and then at the size and gave me an amazingly reasonable quote! it took a couple of days and he texted me when they were ready — very personable service I appreciated! when I went to pick them up — I hadn’t even realized the true color of the drapes. they looked so fantastic and I was so impressed. the total ended up being a little bit more and I couldn’t have been bothered as it was still a very reasonable price for the work he did.
I spent some time speaking with him when I picked up the drapes and he is an amazingly talented man with an extensive background in fashion and design. I will always, always go to SoCo Cleaners as long as he is there. I love this place and recommend it to anyone and everyone!

I’ve been meaning to get my wedding dress cleaned for several years but too scared to trust any business to do it right. SoCo Cleaners & Alterations did such an amazing job that my dress looks better than it did the day of my wedding. They removed 10 year old stains and fixed the clasps on the skirt and then they even gave me a hanger that holds the dress upright perfectly and in place to protect it. Thank you SoCo Cleaners!

DO NOT GO HERE! THEY LOST A VERY EXPENSIVE SUIT SKIRT AND THE OWNER YELLED AT ME AND CALLED ME A BITCH. After trying to reason with him for several minutes, he would not even let me finish my sentence. I was in tears and my pleading with him resulted in a screaming match, and which point he called me a bitch. This is literally the definition of insult to injury, as he had already cost me over $ 100 in the lost skirt, then made me cry and called me names? Don’t go here.

I was at the shop when the incident occured with the expensive skirt. The women dropped of three items to get cleaned and when she picked up that is what she took with her. She now claims that an expensive skirt was missing, and she wanted 25.00 dollar to replace her skirt. I was thinking if the skirt was expensive why did she demand she get paid only 25.00 dollars. I have been going to SoCo cleaners since the new owner took over and they have yet to loose any of my items. The new owner Tom is the most caring and compassionate person i have ever met and very reasonable with his prices. I will recommend this place and continue to do business there. I will not let one sour apple ruin my experience at SoCo Cleaners.

Great alterations! I took my dress into soco cleaners and alteration 2 weeks before my prom. My dress was 15 years old it was my sisters and the dress was dirty and pretty small on me. Tom took a look at my dress and noticed the previous person who worked on the it had cut off the extra material leaving him with little to none fabric to work with. He told me not to worry. About a week and ½ later he called me and told me my dress was ready for pick up. When I tried it on the dress fit perfectly I believe he added extra fabric to loosen it, but you couldn’t notice at all. My dress looked amazing and clean. I was extremely proud with the result and the inexpensive price. Totally recommend this place to all Austinites who are looking for great and affordable alterations!

I accidentally came here in need of hemming up 10 very long drapes. Tom did an excellent job and they were ready the next day. He has since done numerous jobs for me and I’ve yet to be disappointed. He is really a couturier by profession and has won many fashion design contests but he’s very happy in his shop doing custom dress making, tailoring, alterations and dry cleaning too.

I had been looking for a place to get my wedding dress cleaned/​preserved and wanted to go to a place I felt I could trust. This place had the best reviews and although it was on the other side of town, I dropped off my wedding gown with Tom. He’s a really friendly guy & gave me a much better price than I had been quoted at other places. He said it would take 2 weeks to get finished, but he got it done in about 1 week! I went to pick up my dress yesterday and I was surprised at how beautiful it looks! I showed my husband and he thought it looked really great too.
We also got 2 wool coats dry cleaned and they look/​smell awesome too. I will definitely use SoCo again for my dry-​cleaning needs. Tom gets 5 stars from me. He even helped me take my items to my car. :)

I got married in March and needed to professionally dry clean my dress so i could sell it. After two weddings, photoshoots with my dress in Paris & Santorini, it was pretty dirty! My dress is half lace and half organza so I was worried that the stains wouldn’t come off since it’s been about a couple of months.
After looking through reviews on Unilocal,sadly there are not a lot of good reviews! I landed on SoCo Cleaners & Alterations after someone had posted they had gotten their dress clean. I decided to give it a try and it’s a cute shop on South Congress! Tom is the owner and he even makes his own wedding dresses. They are SOOO beautiful. He is truly talented hehe. He said he has been in the wedding business for years and has lots of experience!
I received my dress about a week and a half and my wedding dress looks brand new! He did an excellent job at cleaning it and all the stains are gone! It is reasonable priced, ranging from $ 80-​$ 120.
I will definitely recommend this place for professional dry cleaning when it comes to wedding dresses!
