Okay. So. I’ve complained heartily about this location for about two years. They pretty much screwed up our order every time we came in. There aren’t a lot of inexpensive food options in this area for me(being vegan) so we suffered through it. But it seems like management finally got their act together and brought in some competent employees. The person taking orders in the drive through in particular sounds like he knows the menu and how to talk to people intelligently, so I’m sure that helps. Our order has been two times in a row now, a new streak for us. It’s nice to know I’ll get what I order now. And for cheap tacos TC is pretty tasty. I know there are places like Torchy’s but sometimes you just want/need something simple. And surprisingly, TC actually has vegan menu items and Torchy’s totally doesn’t.(Screw that place.)

I am upping my Stars to three. The atmosphere is better now. Not as sweaty and dirty feeling.(It’s currently December though) Looks like they updated the chairs to much nicer ones. They have such a large seating area, although I never see more than 10 people total in here, if that. The food isn’t great. But that hasn’t changed. The staff is still interesting, but not a deal breaker in coming back.

I went with my wife last night and while the experience was poor, the GM of the store personally called me after I posted a review on TC’s site. We talked for a good while and he was very apologetic. I had previously posted a much poorer review, but have since changed it to a more positive one because of the outreach from the GM. One of the employees, JP, is a solid, hardworking employee and deserves praise because he was the only bright spot of our experience.

Date 12÷18÷15. Wow those reviews were so harsh I almost didn’t stop in. Had a great experience. Store was very clean and staff was professional and courteous. I’ve eaten at better TC locations were food was more tasty, but this location is good and is doing a fine job. Not sure why the other reviews were so negative. Maybe it’s hit and miss. This place is way better than TC in Waco but not as good as I’ve had it in San Antonio.

We didn’t expect great food when we went to Taco Cabana, but we at least expected something edible. The rice, beans, everything we ordered, all atrociously bad. I’ll go out on a limb and assume that they don’t have their«A team» staffing this location, and especially not at 1AM on Halloween night. At least now I know what $ 40 worth of Taco Cabana looks like in a trash can. No exaggeration, I had to go to Taco Bell to get the taste out of my mouth. Think about how horrific that sentence is for a moment.

I have to say this is one of the worst taco cabanas in a matter fact tonight when I stop to eat there I got in a conversation with three other patrons as we waited for 10 minutes in line about how it was the worst taco cabana any of us had ever been to. When I pulled up I noticed all the young kids that cook the food hanging out by the dumpster smoking cigarettes. Pretty disgusting. I got the fajita taco combo and the meat was chewy, The Bean’s had a rotten taste and I didn’t even eat them, I got disgusted and threw my food away. As I was eating there I noticed everyone there had a problem with their order and a lady from outside came in to complain about her order. This place is a joke steer clear.

This cabana has seriously given up on life. I went there a few weeks ago and realized the steak was missing from my taco bowl. With the protein missing from my lunch, being kinda a deal breaker, I politely walked inside to ask for some fajita strips to dump on top. My husband’s burrito ended up wrong as well, so the manager said he would just remake the order entirely. Round two, both my burrito and taco bowl were sans meat again. How does that even happen?!?

Wish I could give this dump Zero stars! They. Never. Get. A. Drive thru. Order. Right! And half the time they are out of stuff! I’m done, no more. I’ll go somewhere else from now on.

Don’t waste your time — and that’s what you’ll do as we spent 25 minutes in drive through with only two people in line. Won’t be back. Manager wouldn’t even address us when we asked to speak to him.

Wow, just wow. Normally I don’t like writing bad reviews but I’ll make an exception this time. Folks, there’s a reason that this place has a poor rating. I suspect this place makes its money off of people who randomly stop in, or like me were too lazy to check Unilocal before showing up. All I can say is, this was my first experience with this brand/chain and I won’t be back unless I’m desperate for cheap Tex-Mex and there’s no Taco Bell around. This location seems to be drastically understaffed; it took 2 – 3 minutes for them to notice me when I walked in at 12:30 today, as practically the only person in the place. Oddly enough, there were four trays of food sitting out on the sidebar… after a few more minutes an employee completed the order sitting there and took it to a grumpily waiting family. The service was friendly; my chicken burrito came out on time, but it wasn’t hot and lacked a lot of chicken. The sopapillas were a mess, caked in an archeological layer of cinnamon and sugar, and everything was rather bleh. The tables were clean but there was trash on the floor and a LOT of dead bugs. Apparently they had done table service but no one had swept up. I was there on the same date as reviewer Lisa D, below. I may have seen her, as while I was there a woman came in to complain to the manager that they’d been sitting in the drive-through waiting for their food. So I can certainly verify the complaint. Folks, this is central Texas. There’s a million decent Tex-Mex places you can go to. This ain’t one of them. This place gets a 1 on the ‘CTJ Scale’ as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing on after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK eating here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus’ Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn’t have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn’t have my penultimate supper here, either.

Terrible service, terrible food, and terrible management at this location. This location is a huge let down, waited 35 minutes for 4 plates only to receive them cold, refried beans were crusty and they waited until they brought it out to inform us they were out of rice so we would be getting extra beans instead. How does a «Tex-Mex» place run out of rice??? I wish 0 stars was an option.

So I thought I’d stop in for a quick lunch and when I opened my chicken fajita wrapped in foil, a bit had already been taken out of it. I won’t make that mistake again.

TC keeps going down in quality every 5 years or so. Coming from an original fan when the franchise first began in San Antonio in the 80’s, we’ve had to deal with this constantly. Current offense, using bacon bits instead of whole bacon in their bean and cheese taco. I took one bite and thought the beans had a sour can taste, then realized it was maybe artificial hickory flavoring in those bacon bits… now I’m thinking was it even bacon and were those beans canned now? Needless to say I won’t be giving them my business again. First they change their queso, and now the bacon? Who are these people?

I ordered a beef fajita half pound dinner and asked for chips and extra salsa, and a kids enchilada plate with a lemonade and double rice. They forgot to give us the lemonade and forgot to give us the chips and queso that comes with the kids meal. They also forgot to give us chips and any kind of salsa when I asked for extra. The enchilada came out hard and super tough/inedible and no double rice. This was the absolute worst service I have ever had in my entire life. I’m blown away on what I just paid $ 18 for. I will never eat taco cabana again if this is not made right! I will be emailing corporate because Taco Cabana deserves to know what’s going on in this location before someone gets food poisoning.

Is there a negative rating?!? The condiments were almost all gone already by noon. Took 20 minutes to fill my order which they got wrong. This place sucks!!! Looks like they’ve had 3 different managers in as many months. This place is understaffed. Go to any other Taco Cabana instead of this one!

Wouldn’t recommend. We ordered crispy beef tacos and a beef burrito and we received soft tacos and a bean and cheese burrito with no meat in it. Sadly we didn’t know till we got home. My tacos tasted like chemicals and my husbands burrito smelled like dirty feet. So disgusting we couldn’t eat

I wish I could give them more than 3 stars because their food is always great, but their customer service falls short no matter what time of day you come. We live down the road and get tired of cooking sometimes and come here every once in a while for tacos. Every time we have come something has been messed up in our order. It bums me out because we always triple check the bag before leaving, but sometimes we over look items until we’re home unpacking everything. There are a lot of pros to this location but I highly suggest you comb through everything and know exactly what you ordered before leaving!

Horrible customer service. They locked the dining room doors 2.5 hours before closing time with customers dining inside. A worker yelled at us to go to the drive thru. We asked for a manager but he kept saying drive thru is open. We went around to the drive thru and spoke to the manager who said they didn’t have enough staff to open the dining room. No apologies were given and when we complained about the employee’s lack of people skills she said, «ok» then walked away. She made zero effort to fix the situation. When asked why there wasn’t a sign placed on the door explaining the reason for the dining room closure she stated she didn’t have time. And all the while, there were people sitting in the dining room eating! One star because I couldn’t give them a zero.

I used to love this place and frequented it for lunch. Three months ago I went through the drive thru and ordered the same thing I always ordered, and saw no price change. When I went to pay, they added $ 1.19 to my bill. When I questioned it, the employee kept trying to justify it, and I told her the menu said the price was the same that it had been in the past. The receipt showed I was charged $ 1.19 for guacamole, and I didn’t order(or get) guacamole. I then called the 1 – 800 number on the receipt and told them the story. They said they would turn in the complaint, so I fully expected someone to contact me. It’s been three months, and I’ve not heard anything from them.
