I used to work on the east side and made this a regular lunch spot. The lady is so sweet and makes your tacos to order. I’ve probably had better tacos, but for $ 1.50-$ 2 each, they’re more than worth it. Be sure to try the salsas as well.

These tacos are everything tacos should be. Make sure to bring cash because they don’t take card. When I discovered this the sweet lady made me tacos anyway, trusting I’d pay her back next time.

The owner makes the tortillas as you wait. The migas taco on a corn tortilla with avocado is the best taco in Texas. Beats the nearby Veracruz; DESTROYS Taco Deli.

The bar tender served us and he was very cool. The food was pretty average but I enjoyed the atmosphere.

My wife said, «they have 4.5 stars on Unilocal.» I turned the car into the parking lot of an insurance business. There was a small orange stand. I said, «this?» Long story short, I’m glad we listened to the reviews. This was a fantastic stop. The small orange stand has the breakfast and tacos on the left of the window and the lunch tacos on the right. Each are $ 2. The woman who greeted us, took our orders, and served us our food was the best. She was friendly and made sure that our order was perfect. She treated me like my own grandmother treats me and yet I only knew her for a few minutes. At 2 bucks a taco, this is steal. The ingredients are fresh and the tacos are packed. I watched this woman, who I would like to call my abuela, cut open avocados and put fresh slices on my tacos before packing them away. The salsa verde that comes with the tacos is unbeatable as well, make sure you don’t leave without it. The $ 2.00 for a taco with onions, peppers, and avocado included along with eggs and a meat choice is a bargain beyond belief for the quality and the freshness, so tip her well!

Great tacos on handmade tortillas(the way I prefer my tacos). The woman running the truck and cooking is an absolute sweetheart!!! I got their Chicharoon, Carne Asada, and Al Pastor tacos. All were a-ok and their two salsas I tried were good too. Prices are great as well.

a++++++ food a++++++ prices a++++++++ customer service(or whatever, they’re super nice) SOGOOD. it’s a taco truck outside a red and yellow AMCO insurance building(that looks like a pawn shop) on Pleasant Valley and Cesar Chavez. it’s easy to overlook, but you shouldn’t! the food is freakin delish and seriously $ 2/taco… nobody has tacos like this for $ 2. their bean and cheese taco is my favorite *anywhere* thus far in my life. lol. chorizo is good; it’s salty and kinda spicy… just right. their salsa is indeed homemade and literally comes in the mortar and pestle they made it in. also pretty spicy, so be warned if you’ve a sensitive palate. HOWEVER: their hours are super sketch and i believe change on a whim. so try to get there before 3pm, even though the stand says 6 or 7pm. this is a good thing for me though– the less time i have to patronize their establishment, the less bean and cheese tacos i eat. go and try it– you will probably go back.

Owned and operated by the sweetest lady. What I love about Tacos Guerrero is how homey it feels. It feels as if you’re at friend’s house, and his/her mom is cooking for you — i love it. When you order your food, the owner will cook it for you on the spot. While there might be a small wait, the tacos will come out fresh and hot! Worth the wait? Yes, definitely. In addition to the super awesome chef/owner, the tacos are delicious. My favorite are the breakfast tacos with the flour tortilla. The best part is that she grills(or toasts) the tortilla, so it comes out hot and crispy! I also had the chicken and pastor tacos — all are tasty as well.

I can’t say enough great things about this taco trailer. The food was delicious and some of the better street tacos I’ve had in town. However what I’ll remember most was how kind and hospitable the lady working in the trailer was. She gave me great recommendations and brought out a spicy bean soup with a fresh tortilla to try while I waited. I got a chorizo, egg and cheese taco, the carne guisada, and a chicken fajita taco. The chorizo was really delicious and eggs cooked perfectly. The carne guisada was very tender and flavorful. The portions are huge, I could barely finish two and had to save the chicken fajita for later. I liked that she gave me the option of her fresh cilantro/onion mix on all the tacos and how fresh the tortillas were. Not to mention my bill was only $ 6. It’s hard to validate buying $ 4 – 5 tacos at other places around town, when there’s great people making great inexpensive food in East Austin. Do yourself a favor and give this place a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

Delicious breakfast tacos. I recommend the chorizo and the bacon tacos. The owner is a really nice lady and she even gave us some bean soup for free while she prepared our tacos. She was great! Cool fact: The taco truck and the owner appeared in the TV series american crime — Episode 3 ~ 19:00 min into the episode!

4.50 stars. Are you looking for a food truck with a mix of neon colors, funky design, and oddly dressed proprietors? Or perhaps the latest combination of fusion(still waiting for those Ethiopian-Mexican tacos) or some exotic cuisine? Are you the type of person that is willing to pay more in line at a food truck than at a restaurant? Or do you just want a non-pretentious, authentic taco served to you by friendly people just trying to make a living? If you are in the latter category of people, you owe it to yourself to try Tacos Guerrero. The food coming out of this truck is nothing short of outstanding. It is located on its lonesome across the street from the Scotty’s BBQ truck. Be prepared to speak some basic Spanish, and subsequently be prepared to enjoy what have to be some of the best tacos in the city of Austin. I don’t want to sell the bacon, cheese, egg and potato tacos short. They were an absolutely satisfying breakfast. But what will likely make me a repeat visitor to this truck was the best chorizo taco I have found not just in Austin but nationwide. The peppery, bright red chorizo is just short of tender, and lies on a bed of cheese and egg. The taco rests inside a homemade tortilla, and the result is fantastic even before you dip it in a stellar green salsa that should be required for every breakfast taco in America. Similar to Robert G., we were given some homemade menudo while we waited. Although I didn’t care for the meat used in the menudo, it is wonderfully smoky and was a solid preparation. Moreover, it was free and super nice of the lady to let us try it. Tacos Guerrero hasn’t been around for a long time, but I can already tell they have at least one out-of-towner that will be more than happy to become a repeat customer.

The only reason this isn’t a 5-star review is, the bacon wasn’t cooked all the way through. That may have been because we were the first customers of the morning and there was a line by the time we finished ordering. Tacos are big, ingredients are fresh, flavors are distinct. This has the makings of a neighborhood classic!

These are not the best tacos I have ever had. Why the 5 stars then? Well, they may not be the best, but they are definitely authentic, taste excellent, and GREATVALUE. In this day and age of people going batshit crazy for tacos, it’s rare to find that combination of qualities from a taco. $ 2 for a taco, I get three: Picadillo, Beef Fajita, and Al Pastor, all were delicious and decent sized(the Al Pastor was a little dry for me). For that price, you can get 1 taco of equal size at Torchy’s or Taco Deli. If the lady running this taco stand is making money at $ 2 per taco, everywhere else must be ripping us off like crazy. Either way, I made sure to tip her because it just didn’t seem fair.
