Tana Rogers Massage

Tana is the cornerstone of my preventative healthcare and pain management. This is much, much more than a massage– this is rehab. Her knowledge is extensive and her repertoire of techniques is unmatched by anyone else I have ever seen. I give her a very enthusiastic recommendation.

I had the best Massage from Tana last week. I was referred to her from Eastside Yoga and boy were they right! She did the most amazing stretch to my legs allowing my body to respond to her massage techniques even better then I expected. I would highly recommend her and encourage you to visit. Tana is a massage wizard.
She was extremely thoughtful and vastly knowledgeable in my appointment with her today. I felt like she read my ailments in body braille and was on a search and rescue mission at the same time.
She started by asking a few questions and then had me lift my legs while standing and observed the way my body moved/​was aligned or rather misaligned. Then she explained what was happening.
Crunchy. Buzzy. Hot maple syrupy. Nervy. Angry. Flowy. Sinewy. All of these words were used at one point to describe how I was/​should/​could or should not be feeling. I could say «That feels hot buzzy» and she would say something like «Oh, well you shouldn’t be feeling that here– the floating rib and the nerve, something, something…» and then she would minutely adjust where she was massaging and I would fade out to a hot maple syrupy feeling.
I described my right shoulder as a ‘dumb oaf’ and she was able to translate that info into something about my rotator cuff needing more work and then she worked out some intense tightness. She even pressed on a few spots in my arm pit that seemed to relieve months of tension. I left feeling educated, more balanced and energized.
This isn’t a fluffy stuffy place. Her room is a modest but tastefully decorated studio. She uses soft blankets and sheets and a nice cloth cover on her face rest. The methods she used on me were more active than most massages I’ve had and instead of leaving like a pile of sleepy mush, I left somehow feeling stronger and more alert. Sleepy mush can be good and I’m sure she can do that too but that’s not what my body needed and she seemed to know exactly how to tackle it.
