Food was average, nothing fantastic. My 12oz smoke house sirloin came sliced and didn’t appear to be a full 12oz. The wife’s boneless ribeye was nothing special, has had better. Service was obnoxiously slow, another waiter had to step up and take our order after waiting more than 15 minutes. For travelers looking for something they can’t get at home this is nothing special. On a side note, the chimichurri sauce helps make the steak tolerable. The rotating taps of local brews was limited.

Tonight I attended a professional meeting where you had limited choice of meals. I like chicken but it came with broccoli which I hate. Now we all know this system is set up to quickly serve people(We were at least 50) Well I asked Chris if I could substitute. No problem. And I wasn’t the only one accommodated. Chris and his team treated out large group as if we were a table of 4! Oh the chicken was pretty good too.

Giving 3 stars for the service — and that’s a pro. Food was underwhelming. I actually sent back my ribeye. Service was good though. Our waitress was extremely attentive and friendly, without hovering. Drinks were good but overpriced. I’ll stick to Ruth’s Chris I think

We were hoping to find an every week Sunday lunch restaurant. Bottom line, we are still looking. To begin with, the service was terrible. It had to be our waiter’s first day on the job with no training. My wife order the Pecan Trout, and waiter gave us a very puzzled look and said«let me check on that», bad sign. I order burger and the steak soup. I like beef as much as anyone, but no veggies in the beef soup? The burger was small, nothing special and over $ 10. When my wife started eating her fish, we learned the reason for the funny look, this was not trout, and it was greasy with an odd taste. It would have been one of the largest pieces of trout we have ever seen, but this had to be a deepwater white fish. Not good.

Tonight I walked into Texas land and cattle clueless as to the destruction I was about to experience, both intestinal and emotional. I ate a 20 oz porterhouse, which was really more like a 5 oz steak if you consider the parts that were edible. It smelled like wet dog, similar to the smell of a cup of water and you wonder why it smells so odd/bad. I think next time I consider visiting Texas land and cattle I’ll instead slip into the bathroom and eat a couple urinal cakes. It would likely be just as hygienic and definitely more tasty.

The one star goes to our server. This place was vile. .. when the bread comes out better cooked than the two steaks you ordered, very disappointed. They still charged my friend for his steak which he barely consumed. The Mac & cheese. .. more like Mac & please. Please could I have more cheese with my noodles.

I’ve never had any server shake our hands and introduce themselves EVER! At most maybe they’ll say their names but never have I been asked for mine. Totally unexpected! Kyle was super sweet. I got my order wrong a few times. First was my fault. Didn’t see the jalapeños in the menu for the crab salad. Second order was for the classic caesar salad but I got spicy caesar instead. Kyle was apologetic even though it wasn’t his fault. He handled it really well. Even got management involved. Such a rare experience in restaurants these days. Breath of fresh air. Nice humans do exist!!!

I should have known from the fact the parking lot was near empty on a Saturday night. I should have known from the“Hostess” who didn’t even look up from her phone as she was busy texting to greet me. I should have known from the moment where my server asked me to cut into my steak and that it would only take 7 minutes to make another one before the plate even hit the table. Inedible. Disgusting. I will never return. More importantly, I’ve emailed my employees where we all work in the adjacent office park, that UNDERNOCIRCUMSTANCES will any receipts or expense account reimbursements be paid out if any employee chooses to «dine» at Texas Land & Cattle. I wouldn’t let my dog eat here.

We’ve been going to this TL&C for 15 year(back when you shelled your own peanuts at the table). We even have a daughter who once served as a hostess. Tonight was probably our last visit. Four of the five orders were messed up. Even though the place was 60% empty, the service was painfully slow. The filet was tough. So sad to see one of our favorite places go to pot.

The bartender/waitress was great. However, the quality of the meat iwas well below par. This is frustrating considering this is a steakhouse. I will not be returning.

My go to place for Salmon! We always sit at the bar in the evening and get great service. Fresh piping hot bread and honey butter, yes please! My only suggestion is for them to offer some live country and western music, after all it’s Austin!

I had a group of 50 in for a meeting in their back room. Chris, the assistant manager, took great care of us as did Sarah the wait staff. They kept the drinks refilled(it was cold and the group was older and the coffee was hot!) and brought the food out fast. Excellent, excellent, job! I would highly recommend.

I was there for an ATPE meeting where there were 3 — 4 dozen attendees. I had the chicken sandwich, which was delicious. But what impressed me the most was the wait staff. How they kept us «fed and watered» was amazing. Can you imagine trying to keep that many people happy? «Can I have more tea? Can I have more ice? Can I Can I?» Yet they remained calm and efficient throughout the entire meal. Kudos!

My wife and I went to this Texas land and cattle today for lunch and it was the worse food I have ever eaten there! I had the pick 2 for lunch, chicken tortilla soup and ½ sirloin cheese steak sandwich. The soup lacked flavor and substance, it had very little chicken and no tortilla to be found. The sandwiches meat was dry and over cooked and the bread crumbly and fell apart when u tried to eat it, not edible. My wife had brisket tacos which, had more coleslaw than meat in the tacos, the rice and black beans lacked flavor. Wait staff served my soup without a spoon to eat it with and I had to ask for one. Our main waiter seemed indifferent as to serving us. I have been too several TLC locations and have dined here before, but I will not be back.

Me and my good friend Ronnie ate here last Saturday after kayaking all day and we were starving. We set at the bar and it was apparent that the bartender was busy. He did keep up with our quickly emptied watered glasses though. I ordered the ribs and Ronnie ordered a steak sandwich. It took forever for our food to come out. We sat and watched as tray after tray was taken to the back room after we had been waiting around 20+ minutes for our food. Finally our food came out and sure enough, food was cool & fries not fresh. We didn’t have a chance to say anything before the manager came and apologized for it taking so long. It impressed me that he was aware and proactive. I will be back

We went on half-price wine bottle night and had a wonderful red wine. The steaks and sides are good, but all in all the place is a bit expensive for what you get. It’s been a while and that is all that really sticks out in my mind now… the bill and the wine.

Decided to give TxLC another try after 4 years of not dining there due to declining meal and facility quality. My expectations were not very high. Well nothing has changed. Service was OK but place still had that grimey, sticky feel. Bread was hard as a rock from crust to inside. I ordered their signature smoked sirloin(12 oz) with baked potato and wedge salad for sides. Wedge salad was served with just a sprinkle of bleu cheese dressing — it was very dry. My smoked sirloin had at least a ¾″ layer of fat on one side and maybe that much again of edible meat. Baked potato(loaded) had a teaspoon of cold hard butter with small sprinkle of cheese. Never again.

At first light, this place reminded me of an upscale Sizzler. It has a dark, commercially, themey feel to it. Why am I at a steakhouse, when I seldom eat steaks… client choice always rules out my first choice. First time in it was for lunch and the second time just drinks at the bar. I was happy to see for lunch they did have options other than half a cow and I opted for the Shiner Boch Salmon with asparagus/southwest rice and bayou aioli. Not sure what the aioli was on the plate for, but I dipped an asparagus in it for a taste and just thought it was mayonnaise. The salmon itself was cooked well and didn’t really have a strong boch taste to it, maybe just a hint to my taste buds. Client got a sirloin of some sort and he seemed to enjoy it, he had no complaints at least. Service was friendly, if not forced, but no complaints pleasant enough. On my second visit I met some colleagues at the bar for HH. The bar is a large, heavy thing, keeping in vogue with«Steak, large dead animal zone». There were longhorn motifs everywhere and the bartender was dressed up in typical black/white attire. Everything was fine, but lacked a little soul. Probably a comfort feeling for the 45yr old plus side of things, but again nothing really unique. This isn’t a knock against the establishment, it seems this is their demographic and they seemed to be getting busy when we left around dinner time. For me, it wouldn’t be a destination, but for others it may be heaven.

This place has made obvious changes. Unfortunately, for the worst. Sirloin nachos used to have fairly large sirloin chunks. Now, they are down to sirloin fragments. Salad was old and improperly drained. I can get this type of quality anywhere.

Nice meal We had their famous sirlon and peppercorn ribeye. Waiter gave us both a sample of the sirloin and I had my mind set on the ribeye… Nice atmosphere and cliff our waiter was very professional Not a cheap meal $ 60 including a $ 9 tip but well worth it– I don’t mind spending money on a good meal!

We had a monthly business meeting. By we, I mean my Mom and one of her vendors but I always tag along and we ALWAYS go to TLC. We arrived today at 11:30. We were seated very quickly and brought water, menus and delicious warm bread. I ordered the Steak Burger with cheddar, bacon, and grilled onions medium but instead it came out medium well. No biggie. The burger was okay, not great. Not«OMG I have to get another.» I got the shoestring fries which were really good. I love when my fries aren’t too«potatoey». My mom ordered the Cheesesteak, side salad, and the broccoli. The side salad was the highlight of her meal. She also enjoyed the broccoli but thought the cheesesteak was bland which sucks because the presentation looked delicious. Our«vendor friend» ordered the new brisket sandwich. He says it was really good. He ended up removing the bread and just mixing the coleslaw toppings and brisket and eating it that way. Good idea if you are avoiding the carbs. While we were waiting to pay, our server said the credit card machine went down but should be up and running in no time. We only had to wait an additional 4 – 5 minutes and it was back running. We we’re in and out in our hour lunch break.

Visited again recently after hearing they’d changed their steak source for the better. Ordered the ribeye medium rare and was presented with a nice juicy tender well marbled steak, properly cooked. Decent salad and sides, Thirsty Goat beer on draft is another plus for me. This is a casual steak spot and they are executing that well these days. If I want a high end steak, I’ll still go to Perry’s, Fleming’s or III Forks. TLC isn’t going to be thick cut premium aged steak. But for a weeknight meal or after a game, for a no pretensions casual place, TLC is very much on my list.

Stopped into this spot for lunch with an associate and we were immediately greeted by the hostess and then grabbed a high top table near the bar area. Place was pretty crowded and there seemed to be a Secret Santa party going on in the back room. Ordered a cobb chicken salad and the sirloin wedge salad. Both were pleasant dishes, my steak slices were cooked perfectly on the rare side. My friends chicken however has some problems. the real issue being, it took 50 minutes for them to come out… I am all about having a few drinks beforehand and BS away with ones company, but this an unacceptable wait for two salads. Then they did not cook the chicken correctly when asked for it to be blackened, three times it came back out and everyone seemed confused. The Chef came out and actually apologized for all the miscommunication and asked if we would have liked anything else after he personally delivered the blackened chicken, that was nice of him. Waitress was great also, it’s just that there had to be some disconnect in the kitchen or something. Not going to hold this against them, it is a chain restaurant and I go into all chain establishments with an expectation of decent food and decent service, not much more. Might give this place another try in the future.

Went there last night with a group of three, and was not impressed. It took nearly 10 minutes for someone to bring me water and bread, and at that point I didn’t see my waitress for another 5. After that she was relatively attentive but still mehh quality. My wedge salad was the best part of the meal after I ordered more dressing. the loaded baked potato was far from loaded, and the steak was bland and cut very thin. I never put A1 on my steaks, especially when I ask for it to be topped with truffle salt and a red wine demi. alas, A1 had to happen. the steak was blandblandbland. My sister got the chicken fried steak and seemed to be more pleased with her meal, but all in all it was not worth the price. $ 20 each for a Cheddar’s quality dinner? No thanks. I’d rather pay Cheddar’s price.
