Never knew this place existed until I was invited to a friend’s gig one Friday night. Also was surprised at how many times I have driven close by to this location(as it is very close to the airport and *ahem* the Landing Strip). The road to get here is very awkward and kind of hidden off 183, so be careful when making the turn, from either direction. You drive down a short dirt road to get to Texas Mist. The neon sign will home you in. Parking seems to be plentiful. Located next to a German car lot, yard? Inside the place is fairly dark, there are tables scattered all around, and a pretty decent sized, full bar. Drinks were pretty good, and strong enough. The service was fine. The venue is actually pretty cool with a stage and lots of area for viewing and seating. The acoustics were rough at times, but that could possibly be more from bad equipment sound tweaking. One important thing to know is that they don’t serve food of any kind, and there aren’t any restaurants or food places close by at all. One of the pictures on Unilocal for Texas Mist is misleading because you see a guy at a table with salt and pepper shakers(leading you to believe there are food options), but upon closer inspection the picture must have been taken someplace else. No worries though, Domino’s delivers we found out personally… funny watching a guy in a blue hat with a pizza walking across the floor while hard metal was being played.

This is THE example of a great Austin Bar! This place is that good old, neighborhood bar that is just little off the beaten path. Get your fix of great live music and your fill of alcoholic beverages at reasonable prices. They even host other things like movie nights and benefits. Got plans for this weekend? You do now! Say Hi to Jennifer and Jim while you’re there… AWESOME people!

Great food! Initial chips and salsa outstanding. Had great chimichanga and pollo chipotle was awesome. Also had this interesting Beer-a-Rita in pictures, ok with more beer at the end. BUT needs bigger straw.

Great place for hispanic locals to go and party. The crowd is average and the drink specials are good. You need to go and give it a try.
