i would give it zero stars if i could. First, i ordered the trio plate, that came with chicken, steak and a skewer of shrimp. It was supposed to come with a salid, and i ordered it, and noticed on the receipt i was charged extra for it. The ceaser salid had so much dressing and cheese on it, it was actualy overwhleming to me. I am one that likes cheese, so for me to be unable to finish it says something. The meal came and the chicken was flat and dry, the steak was overcooked and, although it had visable seasoing on it, had no flavor. The worst part was the bacon wrapped shrink skewer. The first peice i ate and thought it was a bit mushy, and as i took a bite out of the second i realized it was mostly raw. The outside was cooked, but due to their being vegitables wrapped to the inside of the shrimp and covered by bacon, the shrimp stayed raw. Even the bacon wasnt fully cooked. I showed the server, who said it did look raw, and a «manager» came over and said, yes it wasnt cooked correctly, and asked me if i wanted them to fire another skewer for me. I said no, i couldnt possibly eat another, im feeling a bit sick now just from the thought of what i ate, and wanted my bill. Now here is where it gets worse. I wasnt asking for my bill to be free, i would have been fine if he had said he was sorry and would address the cooks, but he said instead«i will take the shrimp portion off of your bill». Gee, thanks. Of course, what he did do was charge me half price for the meal, half price for the ceaser salid(that was supposed to come with the meal), and half price for the mac and cheese side. And poof, that was the last i saw of anyone. I had to flag someone down to take my payment. Crazy thing is i told the guy at the hotel about my experience and even he said he doesnt recomend anyone going here. Wish i had asked!

Im giving this 3 stars because of the guy that helped me was nice. But the woman with faded red hair had the nastiest disposition. Not friendly or welcoming. I tipped the guy well but the woman… i did everything i could to avoid her. This place could be 4 stars but it wont with those vibes.

Stopped by for a quick Tex-mex taco and a beer between flights with my fiancé. Bartenders deliberately ignored us despite the crowd being thin and looking over at us a number of times. We left after seven minutes of finding the service lacking. I do not recommend. The other reviews complaining about the same are spot on. Substandard service that rarely crops up on the east coast.

Merry Christmas ! I am departing this great city of Austin after visiting my family and grandsons to be greeted by the most amazing staff at this airport bar!!! I have traveled the world and never experienced such gracious, efficient service from Christian and Julie working Christmas night. Regardless of them having to work a holiday they made my departure so joyous thanks to the management for these amazing employees! Just to let you know I vowed to never return to this establishment after horrific service last time thanksgiving weekend from a server Cara, you need to reaccess her employment but a raise for Christian and Julie! Happy holidays

I wish that I could give this place 0 stars for service. I sat at a table looked at the menu and waited, and waited, and waited, and no one came for over 20 minutes(I had the patience and time due to a long layover). I went up to the bar to ask about table service and continued to wait as the bartender made eye contact but he continued to put glasses away and perform other non-customer related tasks. Eventually a woman came to the bar and said that she would serve my table, even though there were no servers on duty. It would have been helpful if there was a sign indicating that one should order at the bar. The food however was decent. I wish that I saw the other reviews describing the terrible service before I sat down. Lesson learned.

I had a very bad experience with Cara as well on Sunday evening. My wife, who is 55, had an expired drivers license. CARA refused us service, instead calling the airport police. This even though we had proof that the license had been renewed online with the state DMV. Her rudeness and arrogance is remarkable. I cannot belief someone like this can be employed, much less STAY employed in the service industry. She even refused to refund the price of the beer I did not drink after she refused to serve us a glass of wine for my wife. With the proof we wanted to offer to her that the license had been renewed. Even the police officers shook heir head in disbelief how arrogantly and unprofessionally she handled this situation. They stated they would have had no issue with the license as ID. Neither did the airport security personnel at both airports. My wife was able to travel without having to produce any other documents. The last thing I would think a business like this should consider is to call the police and waste their time with such a trivial issue. They surely had better things to worry about on Thanksgiving weekend. I have written to her superior to demand a refund, but so far have receives no response. This was a very pathetic encounter.

As expected of airport venues, service is horrible yet prices are stupid for what you get. Cara, bartender, exudes such a radiant vibe of negativity and lack of personality that nobody deserves to have to watch. Why do these places in the airport feel they can take us for a pricey ride, yet feel no need to offer anything to make us feel good about what we’re forced to pay? Not just here in Austin, ALL airports!

I guess I’m in good company. The waitress seems to focus on a few tables and ignores the rest. I guess I don’t mind holding a table for an hour and listen to the band without buying anything. I mean I would have bought drinks and a meal…

This is by far the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Hey lady bartender, maybe you should smile and wipe that disgusting look off your face, everyone hates you. I can’t believe someone could be so incredibly rude and still hold a job here. The problem is that customer service is not a priority for these airport bars because they will always be full. I’ve been sitting at the bar for a few hours watching football and waiting for my flight and I would say 9 out of 10 people have had some sort of altercation with this woman. She is absolutely the worst bartender in the world. Holy jeez it’s bad. Wow.

Every other review bitching about service here is dead on. At best, they’re inattentive, at worst, straight up rude. It seems to be a complete free for all here — servers are standing around talking/texting/doing everything BUT working. That means that people get frustrated and order drinks at the bar. Which means the single bartender is completely in the weeds trying to service a 3-deep bar while empty glasses pile up like skyscrapers. Understandably, when/if you do get an order taken they’re probably not going to be super nice. All the while, tables remain unbussed and the«servers» are still jackassing around. Anyway, the main reason to hang out here is live music in the afternoons which is actually really cool. There’s a large stage and the band playing when I was here was good. Plus, there is a Salt Lick taco stand which is absolutely good for airport food. Bottom line — don’t expect much in the way of service.

Took 15 min to get a beer and it wasn’t much faster for the next two. Basically had to yell at the guy to get a beer The prices are some of the worst in the country for an airport and we are a small airport It’s. Bar about the only one in the airport and they use that. Just be aware

An okay bar. Gets better when there’s a live band usually around the late afternoon. What I like is they have Shiner Bock. If you haven’t tried it, it’s a good beer! Don’t expect to be waited on specially when the place is packed with travelers. Best way is to find a seat. Then go to the bar for your drinks(priorities!). You can keep an open tab if you’re staying there for a while. Then go to either the Taco stand on the left of the stage or the hot dog stand on the right. They do serve more than those things such as pulled pork and burgers but that’s what the signs say. If you really want to try something on the menu on your table then let the bartender know and that’s much faster. Have an enjoyable time in this great airport! By the way, if you’re an ice cream junkie like me, there’s an Amy’s ice cream nearby!

A rude bartender and $ 18 for two bottled beers. Can’t recommend. Sat at a table for a while but no one ever came over. So walked over to the bar, waited for a long while and was greeted with indifference. They also need an ID for every single beer order. Someone recommended sliders, but after the beer experience I didn’t want to try them.

Disappointing. Really bad service. You practically have to bribe them to take your order and deliver your check.

Worst pulled pork I ever had. I could not finish it. It apparently had been sitting out for a while.

Delayed for a flight and everything just wasn’t happening. First looking at the drink menu sitting on the table and deciding on a drink, but went to order and was told the menu was old. Then my friend ask about dark beer, and was told ‘we don’t have any dark beer’. Then couldn’t remember who’s ID she check out of three people so then asked again. The previous table left a 50 cent tip, now I understand why… avoid the unless you are desperate.

Not good. Service was very slow and it wasn’t that busy. Tried both the brisket sandwich and brisket taco — both unimpressive– overcooked and dried out even though it was right on dinner time. Overpriced and the top shelf Margarita was made with some cheap mix. Sorry but I’ve lived in Austin too long to have to put up with less than excellent. Need to try a LOT harder.

On a long flight out, we look for a place with food and drinks. Craving tacos, we came in for a little bite and drink before our flight. We found ourselves at the between time between brunch and lunch and no tacos. We ordered a brisket bbq sandwich to split. It was pretty huge and sloppy. Overall just okay with a tasty barbecue sauce, the remedy. We ordered a couple beers, the ZwieBock Amber was great. Service was pretty good. Next up the Bloody Mary version, Ray’s Red Eye. Every airport should have an excellent bloody mary, but this fell flat without a kick or heat. It was better once a little bbq sauce was added. This place was pretty handy, as it had the food and drinks. Not too bad, not the best ever. Just don’t expect Texas down home BBQ and you’ll be alright.

I give three stars as a compromise to these two competing feelings: OMGosh I had a great time sitting here, first to do some schoolwork while listening to a large live band play, then chatting with some friendly strangers waiting for a delayed flight who were buying drinks. YUCK too crowded, where’s the server, why isn’t there any vegetarian food in this overpriced trainwreck?

BBQ and fried stuff. Ray Benson’s roadhouse is conveniently located right around gate 10 in the Austin-Bergstrom airport, which worked out perfectly for me as I had an hour to kill for a plane that would be departing from; you guessed it, gate 10. So, with some time to kill and not having much else to do, I swung into Ray Benson’s, grabbed a cold beer and some nachos. The bartender was seemingly familiar with many of the other patrons, I was left wondering if people actually commute by air a lot in Texas. In any case, the food came out jiffy fast, and everything was perfect. I had them toss some jalapenos on the nachos and they may have hit it a little too hard, but overall, it was a good mix of chili, cheese, chips and jalapenos — and went perfectly with my beer — so good in fact, I had myself another. Prices were pretty good considering it was located in an airport so I would definitely hit it again as they had a lot of interesting looking stuff there to eat. Try it!
