Same guy, same coffee, great place, great people and just slightly closer to me now, in Buda! LOOKTHEMUP! LOOOVE their coffee, always have always will. I am currently living in the«birth place» of coffee(according to some), WA, and have been from Vancouver, WA up to Seattle, various spots in northern Cali, multiple shops in NM, yet none of them even come close to touching the awesome-ness that is Texspresso! *insert heart here*(Yelp won’t allow the little heart thingy)

Grew up in Austin and this was a favorite place to go every weekend. Unfortunately, as of this week I have come to find out that it is now closed to to corporate developer greed forcing out another local business. They have opened up a second shop, but pack a lunch if you want to go, it is in Buda.

this coffee shop was introduced to me by a friend, and it’s addicting! there are 3 main reasons i come to texpresso again and again: 1. diet alamocha!(iced in the summer) 2. dave is awesome, high energy, and provides great service 3. the back patio on a nice day the coffee is smooth, flavorful, and feels like such a guilty pleasure! i agree the ambiance could be more comfy or homey, but what the hey, i go there for the drinks! plus i love dave’s pictures on the wall of famous people he’s met. fabulous!

alamocha on ice. extra whip. perfect every time. a little over $ 4, but i deal. the REAL problem is that it’s alll the way up north and it closes a little early on weekdays(7pm). it’s the taco deli of coffee shops. and sometimes this gal likes her coffee at night!(and message to george costanza: coffee means coffee.) … but when i do make it up there during their operating hours, it puts a smile on my face every time.

The Double Alamocha or Double Texpresso are great for a Good Morning Slap or an afternoon pick me up. Christy make my drinks at the perfecto Temp everytime.

The staff is really friendly, but the interior is kind of bland. While I don’t need a Cirque du Soleil show with my coffee, I do think the atmosphere should add something to my overall experience. It should be at least as inviting as my kitchen table at home.

The Alamocha makes up for anything lacking in the décor or ambiance. Yes, it’s bright lights and not your typical coffee shop décor. But sometimes it’s nice to be able to see and sometimes it’s nice to sit in a real chair, not an over-sized couch. I only drop in occasionally these days, but once upon a time I was a regular and the people that work there were always SO nice. Sorry about that time I barfed in the bathroom that one time, guys. I was 17 and trying to sober up, what can I say?

This place reminds of a run down community clinic, very drab and unhealthy. however their coffee is good and and there’s tons of space. best thing to do is get the coffee to go

The coffee may be good, but the dim fluorescent lighting is sucking my will to live(and get any work done). I’m working here because the only thing worse would be sitting in Mopac traffic and that’s actually starting to sound pleasant.

Miserable atmosphere. However it looks like a friendly group of regulars. They all know each other and the server knows them all and what they drink.

Really good coffee, terrible environment. Like a dirty hospital. If you want coffee to-go, this is the place to get it. Prices could be a bit cheaper too. Its about 5 bucks for a texpresso/alamocha.

I met a first date here, and ordered an iced alamocha. Despite my lack of coffee intelligence, the servers were friendly and not intimidating. The drink was yummy, the date went fine. It was great to have outdoor seating, though staring at the parking lot is not so great(not their fault, it’s just the location). I’ll definitely stop by again to try the baked goods if I end up working in the area.

I used to love Texspresso, but over the last couple of years, the quality of their coffee has really gone down. Something is just… missing…especially in the Alamocha. I hope they turn it around soon. The desserts are still really good, and it’s a nice, large, quiet atmosphere to study or concentrate. It’s in a nice area of town off of Anderson Lane in the Alamo Village.

BESTCOFFEEINTOWNPERIOD. The Tex and Alamocha are both awesome. The owners are great people to hang out with and just talk sports/politics what have you. The place is big and did I mention that they have the best coffee in town!

The drip coffee is weak and flavourless. The wireless connection is weak and slow. While there are lots of seats inside — because it is pretty big — it can also be kind of noisy — because it is all open. I like the idea and the location of the place but am unimpressed by the quality.

This coffee packs a punch and tastes like heaven. Brewed to perfection. The atmosphere is Austin casual. Love that! If it were just a little closer I would go every day. Highly recommended.

My first visit was prompted by a friendly co-worker who described the place as the best place to get coffee in Austin. Not only does it serve up delicious coffee, but the owner, Dave, is happy to have you there. The two signature drinks are the Texspresso and the Alamocha($ 3.85 each for a single). Both are tasty, but if you prefer darker coffee, go with the Texspresso. Sweeter? Remember the Alamocha. I tried the Chai($ 3.65), and it is a pleasant, creamy/fluffy drink. The shop itself might not be the best place to drink your coffee. So after you get your coffee to-go, step out the back door and sip it in the gazebo down the path to your left. The turtles, coy, and lily pads in the pond will keep you company if you are on your own, but it’s also a great place to enjoy the presence of your companions. The verdict: I am not a coffee-drinker by any means, but I’m coming back to this place anyway. Dave has proven that he can deliver a great product with friendly service!
