I was a Starbucks junkie before moving to Austin and discovering the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf — now I’m addicted. In addition to great coffee, this location has the friendliest staff I’ve ever met in a coffee shop! The parfait bar is also great, and they always take their time to meticulously craft each one. The parking is a bit tight and awkward to get to from southbound Lamar, but the staff and food/drinks make up for this by a long shot.

I’m not sure why this place doesn’t have at least four stars, I come here practically every day and have never had a bad experience. The staff are super nice, most of them know me by name now which is welcoming. I’ve never had a problem finding parking either which is usually an issue in Austin now a days. They don’t blast loud annoying music like Starbucks(thank god) and there are comfy chairs in the back if you just want to hang out and read or work.

I like low-key atmosphere’s and this place is perfect every time I come in to study. The staff is always REALLY great, which, unfortunately, I’m sad to say doesn’t happen too often in other coffee shops. There’s a chick there with cool purple hair; she was pretty chilled; took my order and did it quickly. THAT kind of customer service is worth writing about and this place always gives customer service worth sharing and going back for. Kudos! The ONLY downfall really is the parking. They need to get on that, yo. Parking = No Bueno

Decided to give this place a shot with their coffee after having ordered their medicine ball tea twice and loving it. I came by the other day and ordered a soy caramel latte after being rushed by the cashier to make a decision and pretty much lost my interest in the drink before the barista even finished making it after seeing her pour an entire cup of sugar into it. I thought I’d give the drink a try anyway. I wanted to throw up after basically being able to chew the sugar bits as the drink wasn’t even hot enough to dissolve any of it. I threw the drink out. Shame that I paid around $ 8 for it. Will not be coming back here for coffee any time soon.

I love their coffee and tea drinks. Sad they don’t have this store in houston… so I make sure I go to one in any city I travel to. Pumpkin spice latte was yum and bought a bag of french vanilla coffee powder(excited to try it out)!

This is a standard coffee bean, the location is a bit crazy to get in and out of… but I tried an Affogato and their french vanilla frozen coffee thingy(I keep wanting to call it a frapp but I know it is something else) and it was pretty damn tasty. I had really good service and it was quick and I was lucky to snag a parking spot in their tiny lot… so no complaints on this one for me.

I really enjoy walking to this Coffee Bean on my breaks. Its a really good location but beware those who’re trying to get their coffee fix early, the parking lot is really small so you might have to fight off an old lady for a spot. I’ve only ever bought the ice blended coffees and they’re delish. I always add an extra shot because I really like that coffee taste in my blended drinks. Their yogurts are super tasty as well. No premade crapola here, you can watch them make your parfait.

I love this place. Great staff, great service, great atmosphere, free wifi, good food. Outdoor patio, right on town lake trail. The ice blended, tea lattes, and regular lattes are awesome. They have soy and almond milk substitutes on all drinks also.

Came here everyday on my vacation in Austin. I love Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and I was soooo sad when the Dallas location closed recently. But the staff was nice and helpful. They joked with my friends and I and made us feel welcomed immediately. I love that they keep their simple syrup at the condiment bar. And they have such a big selection of teas; both loose leaf and bagged. I bought some white hot chocolate mix for my mom and it was amazing! Just such a great place! Miss it already!

I always associate with CB&TL with LA. So when I see it anywhere else in the world, im always drawn to it. Of course since it’s down the street from where my friend lives I had to drop in. They have pictures of the locales in SF and India which is kinda random. Hazelnut blended after being in the hot sun all day definitely hit the spot. Surprisingly this is larger and quieter than I imagined. Its a bit of a study hall it looks like. Definitely need to liven it up a bit

I wish I knew how to start a day without needing to come here! I am a local who went to Flipnotics for years before they closed. I am so happy I found a great place with killer coffee so close to my house. Its different than Flips but I have really grown to appreciate this place. I am here nearly everyday. The people who work here are the friendliest in Austin. Honestly awesome, and always in a good mood. The coffee rocks. Free, fast internet. The only thing that can be a challenge is parking. There is room for about 10 cars, otherwise its paid street parking out back. Thanks for making my mornings great!

Some times you just want an ice tea flavor other than passion fruit and green tea. They always have at least 5 options caffeine and caffeine free. Today I had cherry green tea. The staff is always friendly. Ok parking. nice outside patio good for doing work and people watching.

They have the best tea ever. The chai robots is out of this world. I am hooked. I always have a box in my cabinet now. I usually try to keep it local but. Coffe bean and Tea Leaf have won me over!

It’s often the simple things in life that make me happy. If I’m out frantically running errands that I can’t possibly get done during a one hour lunch, why not enjoy myself with a humble pastry and harmless cup of java? The gluten free Pecan Muffin is deliciously modest and the cappuccino blessedly unassuming.

I was so bummed when I found out the Dallas stores closed. I would no longer be able to enjoy my favorite delicious café vanilla ice drink or bananas foster oatmeal. However, thank goodness they still have a bunch of locations in Austin! A 3hr drive for my favorites isn’t so bad, but I’m hoping they’ll re-open a store in Dallas. I do like the layout of the Austin stores. This one has indoor seating and a great patio area as well. Perfect for when you want to enjoy a drink outside, but don’t want to be in the blazing hot sun.

Best Oatmeal in a quick to go like atmosphere! They make it stovetop with fresh giant blueberries! I highly recommend before or after your hike on Townlake! Make sure you tell them no salt but you can add tons of fixin’s on top!

Oh, hello! Do you know they have Tacodeli tacos here to grab while you get your coffee? Well, they do. They also have an oatmeal bar in addition to the typical pastry and fruit things. My favorite is the huge double spice rack of things to sprinkle into your cup o’ joe.

I’m not much of a coffee OR tea drinker… so it can be troublesome when I need to work somewhere out of my home because I don’t really want to buy anything. However, the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf does a good job of providing great wifi and nice service and I don’t mind getting something that tastes vaguely like a milkshake. It’s conveniently located on South Lamar, near a spa and a taco cabana. So… get your caffeine fix, a pedi and some cheap food fix. Or just your favorite iced latte, soy milk and a good day of rubbing elbows with other work from homers.

I really enjoy Coffee Bean. It reminds me of living in LA where you can find one of these as often as Starbucks. I much prefer it to Starbucks BTW. The ice blended drinks are very popular here. I find them hit or miss, but will have one when it is hot. I prefer the flavored lattes which are delicious. The dark chocolate one is my favorite, but the mocha one is also good. If you are trying to go less sugary, the no sugar added drinks are not bad. I buy their decaf coffee for our home. They use a non-chemical, Swiss water decaf process. It is the chemicals they use to make coffee decaf that makes it bad for you. This allows you to have your decaf without the chemicals. I guess us Californians, or in this case ex-Californians, care about this kind of stuff.

Love their ice blended coffee and non-coffee drinks. If you have a craving for it then go here. Otherwise not much of an indoor seating area. There is only six tables and a big leather couch. And their hot drinks are not that good. Even blander than Starbucks as it doesn’t have much of a bite with less caffeine.
