The patio has amazing views. The food is mediocre at best. Impressed by the strawberry lemonade.

Interesting how I drive by here daily since it sits secluded next to my office that only recently have I become a regular. With a couple of options available in the work hood, it’s becoming a solid choice for an after work whisky drinking place. There is something about the BBQ smokey atmosphere which makes Jameson go down better. I also like how one of the gal bartenders always calls us «Dear» and«Hun». as in «Can I get you another Dear» «Hey Hun, how ya doing, can I get you a cold one?» The other day, we sat outside after a grueling Friday and took in a great view of the hill country. It was a perfect wind down to the week. I have had lunch a few times here, but unlike everyone in Austin it seems, I am not a BBQ Expert. I also have better things to do with my time than blowing 2 hrs waiting in line for brisket. At my age, every hour of my life is sacred. I think their Q is fine. I like their turkey sammy and the sausage is also a nice way to sip Jameson with.

Meh… beautiful view with passable barbecue. I ordered the lean brisket and it was dry and a bit bland. When in Texas you expect the beef brisket to be stellar and this just wasn’t. The brisket queso fries app was damn good. The sides were all well prepared but what should have been the star of the show just fell flat. I would of rather gone to Rudys where the sides are plain, the service is counter but the brisket makes you say WOWZA!

My friends and I went to the Country Line on our visit to Austin, coming from Santa Fe which was a 12 hour drive. We were extremely impressed with the authentic décor of the restaurant as well as the food. The fried okra was great and the meat was high quality BBQ. One of the orders served was wrong, but was quickly corrected and resulted in free meat by our great server Shawn. Shawn was a great waiter and made our first Austin experience awesome by providing us with free homemade bread and great suggestions. Also, the bathrooms spoke lessons on Texas slang so we could fit in and were also entertained while washing our hands. Definitely recommend. Texas forever.

I hate to eat outside. Hate it. Wasps. But this joint, on the top of a Texas hill has such a spectacular view, I couldn’t say no. The chairs and table were a little uncomfortable. The food-edible Q. A little disappointing, ‘cos it was yet another stop where I DIDN’T get the knockout Q I thought Texas would provide me. Don’t get me wrong, everything was fine, it just wasn’t the transcendent experience I’ve been searching for in the Lonestar state for many years…

My family visited our friends in Austin and they recommended to eat here. We were here on 12/31/2015 and it was a pretty great experience and a good way to end the year. Service: 4 out 5 stars: Our waiter was very polite and helpful and she did everything that was expected of her. The food came out moderately fast, although that may have only been because we were here on New Years Eve and there were not many diners. Food: 3.5 out of 5 stars. The bread is sweet, and both the whole grain and white bread taste fantastic. I got vegetable kabobs and they were a bit lacking in flavor, but nothing salt and pepper couldn’t fix. The fried okra was also not very flavorful, but the texture was okay. The meat was really good, especially the turkey. All of the meat has a smoky flavor and is incredibly tender, but not to the point of falling apart. The prices are also very reasonable. All in all, it was a solid experience and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good BBQ experience in Austin.

Went for dinner and had the Smoked Peppered Turkey Breast sandwich, which came with a side of fries and a cup of beans. The turkey was very tender and had a great smokey flavor. The beans were served hot(temperature) and also had a great flavor, not to tangy or heavy barbeque flavor, just the right taste. The menu said the sandwich came with a heap of fries; I would not have called that a heap. I’ve had larger amounts of fries, I’ve had less. But to me, this was not a «heap.» The fries were not too hot(temperature), but a little more than warm. I added salt to them but I really couldn’t tell. They were just okay.

This was very good cue at a reasonable price. It’s a cool casual setting to pig-out with friends. The portion sizes are huge. I can really eat, but I could only handle the 3-Meat Combo(brisket, sausage & ribs with slaw & fried okra sides) instead of the 5-Meat or the all you can eat family style Country BBQ.(That looked good but we were not hungry enough to do justice to that.) Get the 2nd-Tier marbled brisket, because the lean brisket(not meant to be) was a bit dry, but still good. The ribs were solid, not incredible… but quite good. But the sausage was unbelievable!(I am not usually a big sausage fan, but in Texas… sausage is always on a different level, and this one nailed it.) And it is almost impossible, but save some room for the home-made ice cream or cobbler ala mode. We had the peach and blackberry cobbler. Both rocked it.

We just had a birthday party at County Line with 25 people and Shawn was the perfect host and waiter. The food is always good, need I say more?

I LOVETHISPLACE! I grew up coming to Austin every month and this was one of our frequent locations because it was so close to where we stayed. The view is always breathtaking because the restaurant is situated on top of the hill overlooking the lake and so much of Austin. I used to think it was the best BBQ and bread I had ever eaten. Now that I’ve grown up and experienced more BBQ, I know this is definitely not the best, but I will always think they make the best bread. The bread is why I always come back and it is hands down the best part about this restaurant. Their fresh homemade specialty bread is so soft and sweet that it doesn’t really need the honey butter they have at the tables, but you should still add it anyways! Of course after a meal here, you can always buy«yesterday’s» bread for only $ 1 a loaf and enjoy it at home. It’s also really cool that they make a great tasting whole wheat bread, so I can justify eating BBQ so often. You will be met with decent BBQ, friendly service, an amazing view, and the best bread of your life when you come here!

Pleasantly surprised tonight with a solid BBQ meal. Started with the Mexican deviled eggs — jalapeño bacon on top of the egg and some hot homemade salsa on top. All three of us had separate 2 meat plates including fatty brisket, chicken, sausage and pulled pork. All solid entries with the fatty brisket tender and tasty but not falling apart. Pulled pork was excellent and sauce on side so wasn’t overpowered with it(like many places do) Garlic mashed potatoes were excellent as was the fried okra(though not sure how you mess up okra). Cole slaw was ok. Definitely liked this location with the view better than the one down by the river. Thought the food was a bit better too, but who knows.

We chose the County Line simply because we did not want to wait for hours at Franklin’s BBQ joint. This place was great! Décor was very eclectic, and exactly what you’d expect from an older restaurant, but very relaxing, and not over-crowded like some other restaurants we ventured to. Food was great! Nothing out of this world, but just perfect if you’re really wanting some BBQ. We would definitely come back here again, if not for the ambience and friendly service, great dining venue for a big family gathering too!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to this location. The one on the Hill… And it was really nice this time around. With my family enjoying this perfect summer day! The service was great and the view too! Glad we made the decision to eat here! Always great as I remembered…

Going to the Country Line is like visiting your grandparents house when you’re a kid. The décor is awful, it’s full of old people, and you sure that your meal won’t live up to your expectations. County Line hits all the similarities. Why do all barbecue joints have to look old and like the wood has never been cleaned? We were a group of six seated in a scenic overlook room with casino carpet and thick plastic tablecloths. We were quick to order a full loaf of their specialty bread. You can get it split half white and wheat if you’d like to try both. It came out quickly with our drinks and was served with honey butter. It was very tasty! I was a bit worried at how the service would be because we were all given gigantic glasses. This is your general first indication that the waitress won’t be around much. Surprisingly, she was checking in on us the appropriate amount of times. The restaurant was busy on a Sunday afternoon and we waited a solid fifty minutes for our food. Then we saw another table of ten get their meals within fifteen minutes of ordering. I’m not sure where the disconnect was in the kitchen, but our waitress took care of us and didn’t charge for the drinks or bread! It was a very classy move and was well received by our group. The barbecue was a bit below par. If you’re going to make me drive way out on 360 and up a ridiculous hill for your food, it needs to be better. The marbled brisket was juicy but lacking flavor and the pork ribs were a combination of dried out meat and juicy parts. The barbecue sauce is far too sweet and I wish it had not been near my food. I also tried the beef topping for the baked potato and there was nothing special going on with it. It tastes like something you could get at HEB in a plastic container and heat up in the microwave. The sides were by far my favorite part of the meal! The Mac and cheese was homemade and delicious and the Garlic mashed potatoes were pretty bomb. This place isn’t terrible, but it’s not worth the trip. I’d rather drive to Lockhart for some much better barbecue.

I like the county line. Their food is decent, but the view is what we come here for. This is one of the best places to watch the sun set in Austin. Like I said, the food is alright, nothing special though.

IT is as good as it gets folks mouth watering barbeque! The best on the menu is the baby back ribs is really my favorite. You can get sides dishes which is the salads or potatoe salad with beans They also have plenty of parking but very busy on weekends. I recommend the combination plates which are listed or you can get them alone or even all you can eat!

My fiancé and I dropped by here on our last trip thru Austin and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of BBQ County Line had to offer. I loved the turkey, brisket, honey butter bread, mashed potatoes and Mac n’ cheese! And the eye candy the restaurant has to offer isn’t bad either. We were also able to bring our dog, Toby. He thoroughly enjoyed the beef rib! Great location, good food, and friendly staff.

After my good experience with County Line earlier this week, I called to make reservations to take my parents out to dinner. The lady who answered the phone said they don’t do reservations. No problem. Then she told us about«call ahead seating.» She then told us there was already a 30 – 40 minute wait and that anyone who came into the restaurant before us would get seated because call-ahead isn’t guaranteed. In other words, they don’t need the business tonight. The attitude and the hassle isn’t worth it.

I happened upon this place only because my company Christmas party was here. It was a feast of meats done family style. Sides were great. I’m picky about my potato salad but I really liked the flavor. The cole slaw was mayonnaise based — right on. Oddly enough what I am going to rave about may surprise you — I mean it even surprised me. One of the doctors I work for is vegetarian so he ordered himself a separate plate of salmon and he also happened to be sitting beside me. The dish came with not one but two decent sized filets. As he was eating he mentioned how surprisingly good the salmon was. Just looking at it you could tell it was moist and juicy. I actually never order salmon at restaurants any more because it usually comes out overcooked and dry. So of course I had to try a bite and… surprise! perfectly cooked, moist, and right on with the flavor. I wouldn’t so much come back for the BBQ, but if I ever happened upon this place again I definitely would get the salmon.
