The Dreadlock Studio

I made my appointment in October. At first I was terribly sad that I would have to wait until March to get my new set of locks installed, but oh my gods, it was worth every second of my wait. Casey did a phenomenal job, and it had to be the most pleasant salon experience I had ever had. Great conversation, interspersed with times of relaxed quiet and movies. He was patient and as gentle as someone could be whilst backcombing.
He was a real trouper as well, my install took forever and he never minded letting me up for breaks and stretching.
This set of locks is going to be amazing because of Casey’s hard work, and I could never be more appreciative.

The folks at the Dreadlock Studio have been caring for my dreads for nearly 4 years now — from install to color to maintenance. I don’t think it’s possible to be happier with my hair.
My initial review was based on Liz’s work on my hair, but I wanted to add that Casey and Snyder are awesome, too! The guys do great maintenance work — they’re fast, and your dreads will be tidy for weeks after.

If you want dreadlocks then this is the place to go! Liz and her husband did a great job on my dreads! Just make sure to schedule an appointment 3 – 4 months in advance because they are busy.

I had a great experience getting my dreads with the LocDoctor. She installed my dreads and added extensions which took a good amount of time. She was patient, professional, and detailed. I am so happy I went here and plan on doing maintenance with her as well. Prices are reasonable for the work and time. Her studio is comfortable and one can feel relaxed through out the process! I am so happy with my experience and dreads.

I have been going to LocDoctor for over 2 years now. After moving back to Austin I went through 5 other hair technician for my dreads until she saved me. She is professional and does good work. Her prices are reasonable and oh so worth it for me. I have dread maintenance and installation of synthetic dreads that I get elsewhere done by her. (And she’s someone who I enjoy the hours with that it takes to do my hair.) I cant recommend her more.

Liz & Casey are the BEST!!! I just got my dreads a few days ago & am very pleased. I enjoyed the time I spent at the studio, too. Liz was initially going to only section my hair, but after some discussion — I decided to let her do the entire install & let my inexperienced (gracious & willing) friends off the hook. Glad I did :-) You’ll be happy, too!!!

Ok, so I had my dreads for just over a year and decided I needed a change. I loved them (especially being able to tie them up all over my head) but having the same hairstyle and color for over a year was too long for me.
I called Liz at LocDoctor Studios and told her what I wanted to do and she was up for it. The night before (ok it took 2 nights) I cut my dreads short and combed them out. I washed them, used lots of conditioner and the next morning I was ready for my new do.
We did a cute little 1920s bob and I went almost platinum blonde – and boy, did I look good!
It’s been about 2 weeks and I’m still loving my new hairstyle. It seriously just falls into place when I finger comb it after getting out the shower. It rocks and is very low maintenance.
So if you want to get dreads put in– or take them out and go with a new style, give Liz a call. She is truly an amazing artist.

i first heard about liz through word of mouth. i called her up and set up an appointment, and i was so surprised at how amazing my dreads looked afterwards… i rode my scooter home showing them off!
she worked hard on my hair and was so pleasant to talk with. then later i had her do extensions and work on my dreads some more… then she added twists and bleached and dyed my hair.
she’s so amazing and creative! she made me hair so wonderful and vibrant that i get noticed all of the time!!!
she is also great about working on emergency dye and dread work when you have an unexpected hot date :)
my hair is now more popular than i could ever imagine to be. it gets inivited to parties and i don’t.
this doc changed my life!
