Best hamburger I’ve had in Austin, I think. Had mine with blue cheese, homemade aioli, homemade ketchup, and homemade mustard, pickled onions, and lettuce. They were(bummer!) out of tomatoes. They weren’t listed on the chalkboard as being something normally on the burger — but sure wish they’d had ‘em. Anyway, that aside — juicy delicious beef. Thick patty, but not too big around. Wonderful bread — not too thick. It’s tasty bread, but it doesn’t distract from the yummy beef. It was a little like a popover — not exactly but kinda. Totally nummy bread. The blue cheese, again, totally delicious but not overpowering. The onion relish? This is getting boring, huh… delicious. And the whole package? Balanced flavors that worked perfectly together. The frites? We ordered one basket between the two of us, and that was plenty. They were delicious, but a little tricky to eat. They are not fries. They aren’t shoestrings. They aren’t really like any other potatoes I’ve ever had. Like long thin strips of fresh potato chip, almost. Sweet friendly cook and sweet friendly order taker — they were beautifully hospitable. Loved the whole experience.

I’ve been here several times and every one was a great experience. The food is super yummy and fresh– the burger and lamb are hard to choose between! The frites are tasty and unique, and the fresh eggplant baba ganoush is delish with fried toasty pita triangles. They also have seasonal items based on what’s fresh at the farmer’s market. The best part? Chef Ben, who works most nights there, has amazing taste in music and delights the lucky diners with Cat Power, the Cure, and more from his personal cd and vinyl collection. Great atmosphere, great food, great prices, what’s not to love?

I got the kimchi burger and it was a hot mess of deliciousness. Let me rephrase… it was very messy, but completely worth it! Just keep some napkins handy :) The garlic fites were perfectly crunchy and not greasy at all. Awesome location with plenty of seating and shade. dog friendly, too! Will definitely be back.

First of all, we live in the neighborhood and are not related to the owners of this trailer. And we loved our first visit. The food is not only tasty but hot, like somebody just cooked it for you. How is that for a concept? This is not haut cuisine but it is very imaginative. Our $ 14 meal for two was completely satisfying. Oh, those frites! We feel absolutely blessed to live within walking distance of Jessie Street Eats.

Can you get a filling, but tasty meal for $ 10 at a food trailer? The Kitchen Window proves you can. For $ 10 I got a lamb sandwich, fries, and a drink. The lamb sandwich was excellent. I don’t normally like lamb, but the waiter suggested it, and it was great. I think it’s done right when the meat’s sliced real thin, like lamb gyro meat, which makes it taste real nice. The frites were delicious, although a bit salty, but otherwise I love the place. Great setting too, plus good hours.

Thanks a lot for the $ 20 salad. I went to the Kitchen Window tonight for the first time. I ordered two of the beef lettuce wraps and one salad. On one of the wraps I asked for no sriracha since my wife doesn’t enjoy spicy food. I took the food home and when we sat down to eat we discovered that the wrap –even without sriracha– was way too spicy for her taste. The spicy culprit in the wrap was the kimchee. I like spicy food, but I found that the combination of the sriracha(on mine) and the kimchee completely overpowered the dish and made it impossible to taste anything. The whole point of getting take out was to not cook dinner, but after spending $ 20 at The Kitchen Window I ended up coming something else for my wife while she ate the salad. I ate my wraps but couldn’t actually taste them because off all the heat. Here’s the thing… A small bit of customer service would have avoided this. I had a discussion with the girl who took my order about leaving off the sriracha because my wife doesn’t enjoy heat. Had she said«you might want to also hold the kimchee because it’s also very spicy» that would have been awesome. Instead, I received the same level of service one finds at a fast food drive-in window, which is no service at all, just an order taker. The food here might be great… I don’t really know because all I tasted was kimchee. So the only thing the two of us actually tasted was the salad. I might give these guys another chance once my taste buds grow back. If I do I’m going to ask lots of questions because clearly these folks aren’t here to help you navigate the menu.

Well, I don’t eat much meat so I didn’t try any of the burgers BUT between my fam & friends that were with me, we did order everything on the menu. Nothing disappointed. Every bite was better than the last! I think we ordered a few things twice actually! The frittes are AMAZING. Order one for yourself because you won’t want to share, I promise. The salads were so so tasty & so refreshing & light. The people I was with tried every burger on the menu and there was not one negative comment amongst them all! This trailer pleased EVERYONE! Very impressive! These guys have got it down. The trailer looks immaculate and the whole area is adorable and one of the nicest trailer park eateries around. Great tables, umbrellas, fans. Of course, its also BYOB(yes!) & dog-friendly too! And they have gelato. Literally nothing not to love! Go there now.

Just had the best lunch ever! Everything on the menu looked so appetizing, but I decided to go with the Lamb Burger, Pork Carnitas, and to quinch our thirst… a nice refreshingly cold watermelon limeade, perfect for a hot day in the heart of Texas.

Unilocalers, you let me down. I was so excited to try this new trailer with such stellar reviews. We tried seven menu items(watermelon cantaloupe lemonade, gazpacho, pickled vegetables, beet salad, lamb sandwich, crispy frites, and beef lettuce wrap) and I can honestly say that I would never want to eat any of those again. Sorry kids, but this is an Odd Duck wannabe.

Wife & I had burgers & frites(not fries) which were awesome! Burger was tasty & came with aioli, onions, arugula, pickled onions, home made mustard(stone ground /spicy) & ketchup. WOW! Frites were shaved potato slivers fried(?) to a golden crisp with garlic & parsley. Yum! Food — 5 Stars Service — 5 Stars So why the 3 star review? The owner stood less than 2 feet away & didn’t have 15 seconds to say«Welcome, thanks for coming.» We were the only customers there! He needs to take a lesson from Dominick at Bella Cucina or Angie at That’s Amore! Honestly, we can get great burgers at a number of places in Austin. I got no time for a stuck up owner. Not sure we’ll go back. Too bad since the food was great!

I think we are lucky in Austin to have access to so many talented chefs… and this food trailer is no exception! Everything I’ve tried here is awesome, the menu has lots of light fare appropriate to the heat(you are sitting outdoors, after all), and the service is friendly. Best of all, they are open more than they are closed, which is saying a lot in the food trailer world.

My friend and I had a great experience here! We had some delicious gazpacho(and having lived in Spain, I am a gazpacho connoisseur!), some wasabi wings -(YUM!), and both a lamb-burger AND hamburger that were to die for! The lamb was perfectly cooked and extremely tasty… I couldn’t get over that it was $ 7! I agree with the other posts that the hamburger is one of the best I’ve had in Austin… house-made pickles and everything! We loved the cute patio tables with the tiki torches and good tunes, and BYOB option(I suggest stopping a Thom’s Market right before you turn and getting some 400LB Monkey IPA… goes great with all of it! Overall, a much more delicious and enjoyable experience than I’ve had at any restaurant in a while! I will definitely go back again!

A great new addition to the food scene in Austin. I have eaten there about 5 times now, and have yet to try anything that wasn’t great. The burgers, lamb, and lemongrass beef are all excellent. Also be sure to try the orange habanero sodas that they sell from a local craft soda maker. They are awesome.

This is a review of their catering business. I have also tried their trailer which is great also: Great customer service, superior food and super flexible. I had a private event about a month ago or so and called them up to see what options I had. They worked with me and even worked with the venue I was hosting at to arrange for a drop off of the food at a convenient time and place. They were also professional when I called them up on Saturday morning at 9:00AM freaking out about my event. Also, they will work with you to fit whatever budget you have and will provide you with tons of options. The chef — Gino was prompt and professional. I went with a brisket and pulled pork for the adults as well as some hot dogs for the kids. Every detail was spot on(homemade BBQ sauce and real white bread) along with complete sides like beans and coleslaw. Everything was unique had its own flair to it(I am not normally a coleslaw person but enjoyed this one). Everyone at the event loved the food and it sure beats slaving over a grill or using a chain from Austin. I will definitely consider them again for future events.

The food at the trailer was so good, I got them to cater a couple of luncheons I did for work. Our clients are used to the typical aka«boring» sandwich box lunch and it was so nice to offer them something original, local, fresh and DELICIOUS! Food smelled so tasty that we had people coming in the room from down the hall and trying to steal it! I will definitely use The Kitchen Window again for catering and I highly recommend them to everyone!

I had been waiting all day in anticipation of the burger I was going to have for dinner that night. Let me tell you, the Scoot Burger at The Kitchen Window did not disappoint! It’s hard to find a burger out that I don’t feel like I can do a better job at home, but this is it! Big, juicy, flavorful, cooked to perfection… didn’t even put any mayo/mustard, etc. on it to moisten the bread — didn’t need it — the buns are that fresh! Just make sure that you grab a napkin, and prepare to sit, as it def. needs two hands! Later on that night I thought I’d give another dish a go. Decided on the Grilled Lemongrass Beef Lettuce Wraps. You gotta get some of these. So delicious… try some of the beef by itself — it absolutely melts in your mouth! Possible that I like these even better than the burger? To close it out I had one of the Kaffir Lime Rice Crispy Treats. Not your run of the mill rice crispy treat at all. It’s not cheesecake, but it is the best rice crispy treat I’ve ever had and great food to keep you occupied on the drive home. P. S. Get the Hand-cut fries w/garlic even if you aren’t eating. They are thin cut and a little crispy and make the perfect complement to the beer in your other hand!
