Sat at the bar to skip the line. The bartending service was great. The drinks were made perfectly and super delicious, the margaritas had the perfect ratio and the torchys tini is also great. The drinks and food were inexpensive but delicious, I recommend the fried avocado and the wrangler tacos. Ill definitely come back, ask for Sam!

Cool, funky names for things; variable quality. I got three tacos. The corn tortillas were excellent. The meats: so-so. The tastiest was the least traditional: fried chicken. It was almost overwhelmingly flavorful. Clever choice of sauce: some kind of buttermilk thing. But the chicken was almost so meaty as to make me stop eating. Maybe it was contrast: the barbacoa beef and carnitas were just so-so. And they were nearly room temperature: not even warm-ish. If you’re going to skimp on the basics and then go for broke on the signature dishes, you should really at least try to get the food a reasonable temperature.

You literally cannot beat this place. Every single thing on the menu is fantastic. The atmosphere is fun and hip — the food is so good and consistent every time I go. There is a secret menu as well… google it and enjoy the extra tacos that few know about!

Torchy’s once again knocks it out of the park. This being a special one as it is one of a couple of Torchy’s tacos that has a full bar. I got the pork and green chile and a crossroads, which was a smoked brisket taco. Both were delicious! I spotted the Mr. Orange and recommended it to my wife, she loves salmon and loved that taco. We also got a chips and queso, theirs is hard to pass up, and a pitcher of cold Fireman’s 4 golden ale. It was the perfect accompaniment. I keep forgetting that we have a Torchy’s in San Antonio. I got to keep it in mind, after all there’s still more of their tacos that I want to try!

If you’re wondering what the heck the picture is of I’m wondering the exact same thing. I ordered the Crossroads taco. The description is this: SMOKEDBEEFBRISKETWITHGRILLEDONIONS, JALAPEÑOS, CILANTRO, JACKCHEESE& A SLICEOFAVOCADO. SERVEDWITHTOMATILLOSAUCEON A FRESHCORNTORTILLA. Am I crazy or did I miss the bit about«bacon bits» because I am literally eating the tiniest ground up pieces of «brisket» that you’ve ever seen. It’s awful and it’s being thrown in the trash. Thumbs down Torchys! No Bueno!

Having been to Torchy’s several times now and I always leave feeling that I have been cheated. I got the Democrat, Republican and Trailer Park tacos. There was nothing special about these tacos, the tortillas were cold, the food was not presented well and I could have ordered the same thing somewhere else for a much cheaper price. The service at torchy’s was also incredibly subpar. In order to have a trashy trailer park taco they have to take off the lettuce to add the sauce, but if I want the lettuce on it as well that’s gonna cost extra even though it’s originally on the taco! The cashier herself didn’t even understand it. The staff was unacomidating when it came to the TVs, unwilling to change the channel even though all 4 TVs were on the same station. I would never recommend this place to anyone, save your money and get better service next door at MOD Pizza.

Tasty and not boring! I will probs be back to try another couple of ones. What I had: — Green Chili Queso — DELICIOUS!!! Perfect consistency, not too thin, where it falls off the chip, nor too thick, like a chalky, cheesy paste. — Fried Avocado Taco — it was okay. The beans lacked flavor, though it was pretty good with the sauce. The avocado was nice and fresh and nicely fried. It’s a solid veggie taco. The corn tortilla was so good, I forgot it was a corn tortilla. — Brushfire Taco — Really good, flavorful chicken, but very spicy(at least for me…). And that was even with the Diablo Sauce on the side. I thought it had a nice balance of chicken compared to the other ingredients, though it could have used a little more mango.

I cant see anything less then 4 – 5 Stars coming from this place… Wife had a get together for Xmas, so I took the opportunity to knock out a couple of Secret Menu items… Im really not sure How I manage to shovel in 2 of these massive tacos and for only $ 4.25 each, I was needless to say… STUFFED out… On deck… The Hillbilly and The Missionary Style Pork… The Layers of flavor packed into these tacos is out of this world. Wife did have the queso, chips, and a 512IPA… we all know there is NO need to review that. Need to try the Taco of the month… The South Pole… thats next on the list…

Great Tex Mex lunch spot in Austin. Loved everything except the Democrat taco. Favorite was the Mr. Orange. Also great locals beers on tap and friendly service.

BIASALERT — I am a fan of Torchy’s… but this location is just as good in its consistency as all of the other locations that I have eaten at. The pros… — the great deck that you can sit out on — the bar style seating if you are just by yourself and need a quick bite — comfortable décor The cons… — the drink station can get crowded since there is no «flow» to going in and out(but it seems to be how the building is built) — parking… not many spots with all of the businesses in the area, so find one and park fast Overall, Torchy’s location here lives up to standards and traditions of flavor that you all come to love.(Ace of Spades FTW) Don’t forget to order the chips and queso!

Wins: — Tasty creative options — Fair price point — Generous portions — Take to go orders over the phone — The newer locations can accommodate large groups Opportunities: — Parking can be challenging at some of the locations — Some of the recently opened locations feel a bit south Dallas BLUF: if you looking for really good tacos with creative ingredients be sure to check out Torchy’s. You won’t be disappointed!

A constant source of tasty confections that stimulate the pallet while at the same time satisfying your carnal hunger for Mexican themed food. I consider Torchy’s tacos to be the«Schlotzskys» of «medium» food.

OHMYGOODNESS! That pretty much sums up Torchy’s Tacos in my book. I was in love with this place after my first bite! Anyway, here is why Torchy’s stole my heart and my taste buds! Highlights: 1. The food is fantastically amazing! I have tried many of the tacos here and they are all awesome. Each is completely different but oh so good! The fillings are all fresh and are bursting with flavor. You can tell these are quality tacos and worth the price. My faves are the Democrat, Republican, and the Trailer Park-Extra Trashy. 2. The Green Chili Queso gets it very own line because it tastes like the food of the gods. I can take out a whole order by myself without blinking an eye… FORREAL! If i could get away with it, I would probably lick the bowl clean because this queso is the SHIZNIT! 3. Funky, tasty, cane sugar soda! The soda machine is filled with Maine Soda Company sodas. They have their interpretations of Root Beer, Black Cherry, Cream Soda, Mexican-style Cola, Dr. Pepper(Doppelgänger), and a Texas speciality flavor that had prickly pear juice in it. I tried them all and they were all great! I love me some good soda! 4. The sauces! I love great hot sauce. I don’t care if it is spicy, but rather the flavor profile. The green sauce here is so flavorful and would probably taste good on anything and everything! The diablo sauce is super hot, but really yummy. The different flavored ranches were great too. I loved every sauce i tried and really loved every bite. 5. Great staff! Everyone is hip, cool, and happy. I was picking the brains of the guys working the counter and they are the ones that sent me to the Democrat taco, which I will forever be thankful for because that taco blew my mind! 6. This particular location(Mueller) has a full service bar! Yes! As of marvelous tacos weren’t enough, now you can booze it up at the same time. :) If you are within 100 miles, drive to Torchy’s NOW. It will be worth it, I promise!

Normally I am not a real fan of Torchy’s as I prefer my tortillas to be hot and Torchy’s are not. So, while i was here for a Unilocal event I ordered a shrimp taco, which is something I never get. The taco was really good! I used my emergency habanero sauce bottle and turned up some more heat. I tasted some of the guacamole and it was also quite tasty. This is an upscale Torchy’s, clean, efficient, and in my humble opinion the fanciest in town!

My first Torchy’s experience was everything I hoped it would be after all the hype from my Austin buds. I actually had my first bite and shed a single tear: That’s how good it was. The woman who took my order gave me one of each of the hot sauces and helped me make an informed order which consisted of: Independent, Fried Avocado, Dirty Sanchez. No complaints. Each one more delicious than the last and they are big! Three was definitely too much for me to eat in one sitting but did I eat them all in one sitting? Of course. I couldn’t resist. It’s a damn shame I didn’t think to order some of their legendary queso. Next time.

So I hate to say something negative about Torchy’s but something has to be said. My husband and I love Torchy’s. My best friend’s 25th birthday was at their Trailer park location, and it’s our go to Late-night-tipsy-but-need-food option. However, when we eat at Torchy’s we get shitty service 25% of the time. They either forget to deliver an item to our table(many quesos have never made it to my husband’s belly) or our tacos arrive so cold we have to take them home to reheat them. We really hope this location pulls their s*** together– it’s so conveniently located in Mueller!

I love torchys. You guys make delicious things. But. …PLEASE make it painfully obvious that your pinto beans are NOT vegetarian. It’s really important to people that do not consume animal products. Especially pork. It can hurt.

Pros: –really cool environment to hangout with friends. The walls are covered in shiny street reflectors. There’s a large deck outside. –order at the front, and have your tacos served to you at your table. –tacos are pretty fabulous –located in a fast growing neighborhood, across HEB Mueller. –variety of tacos and appetizers to choose from. Invite big groups to come here, so everyone’s happy. Cons: –expect to pay more for your meal. To get full, I would have to spend at least $ 12 – 14(three tacos). Thus, it feel like you’re not ordering street food, but you are ordering street food. :)

What a great interior! They have a legit full bar, tons of televisions, and a great design. The bar is inside and outside as well. Post up, grab some drinks, and stuff your face with delicious tacos… what more could you want? They are currently doing the 4 taco heat challenge for the month of August. Each week rolling out a hotter and hotter taco. go get one, now! Hands down the best Torchy’s there is so far.
