Lovely store-​located in the shopping plaza on the corner of 12 and Lamar. The photo here needs updating. If you’re a beginner they may not carry all you need (scissors, thread, etc.) If you are searching for quilting squares, select fabrics and ribbons you’re in the right spot. They carry lovely little gifts! I will go back.

This is a really nice quilt fabric store — especially if you are looking for organic 100% cotton fabrics. They often have sales, and every so often they put bolts into a bin next to the door at 50% off. Sweet! There is also a section with charming housewarming/​shower type gifts. The two owners are really nice people — they will be happy to help you pull bolts down to see what «works» together.
I think the name of the store discourages people from stopping in — it sounds like an interior design business, not a quilt fabric and gift shop. But it most definitely is a retail store — and a great addition to Austin’s slowly expanding fabric store selection.

I discovered Walker Hall Design during the Fabric Shop Hop earlier this year. It’s a sweet little shop just off W. 12^th near Lamar. I happen to work right near the Capitol so for a quick run, the location couldn’t be more ideal (and potentially dangerous). I stopped in today to pick out the backing for one quilt and find the complimentary fabrics for the focal fabric of another. As soon as I took out my quilt top, Deborah jumped into action helping me to find just what I needed. The fabric selection is obviously well thought out and well curated. Deborah has a great eye for color and pattern and in no time, I walked out with exactly what I had been envisioning. Walker Hall Design will definitely go in my go-​to-​queue along with my other favorites (The Cloth Pocket, Stitch Lab). In addition to fabric, this little shop has some really lovely home/​baby wares and is the perfect place to pick up a unique and special gift.
