Its not even half way full and it took 15 mins to get water and a menu… one section is completely closed. I wont be back. If I could give zero stars I would.

These are my favorite wings in all of Austin. I usually get my order to go but the few times I have dined in the service was great. I highly recommend the lemon pepper wings. Even if that isn’t your typical choice it is definitely worth trying.

The food here is actually really amazing and the specials are unbeatable. Bar staff is amazing. Waitstaff is inconsistent, usually good, but sometimes not. I recently arrived at 11:15 with a group of friends(swearing up and down how awesome this place is) anticipating a midnight close and they had already closed their kitchen. It was disappointing.

I had been craving wings all weekend and after two failed attempts to get seated at Pluckers(on two separate days!), my friends and I decided to check out Wingzup and were not disappointed. Sauces were good(highly recommend raspberry chipotle BBQ) and the wings were very meaty. Minor detail, but I like that they offer fried pickles in slices or spears because I am #teamspears and most places serve them in slices. And a final heads up, they served celery with a 5-piece order even though the menu says they only serve them with orders 10+.

It was a Sunday Funday with some of my favorite fellow foodies with good wings, stimulating conversation, never under baked although a bit spicy at times. I ordered a small side salad and the bone-in smoked wings with the Jamaican jerk sauce. I failed to remember that wood smoked chicken with the skin tends to make the skin leather-like. Don’t get me wrong, the wings were delicious and the Jamaican sauce was quite savory with some heat that had a delayed effect. Whenever I return, I will order the grilled bone-in wings instead of the smoked. I had a couple of big mug Lonestars to refresh and bring the ol’ palate back to life.

This is my 1st visit. Son is treating me to wings and drinks. Kelly was amazing! She was very attentive to our needs as well as everyone in the room. They need to clone her!

This is our favorite wing place now. Love how they have so many varieties. Of coarse they have original which are good, but the smoked and golden are absolutely delicious. We haven’t tried the boneless, country style or the grilled. But I’m sure they are great too. We got the smoked with ghost BBQ. All I have to say is delicious. Yum yum. Great. The golden wings are marinated then fried. You don’t even need sauce cause they are delicious by themselves but we tried the raspberry chipotle BBQ. It was great. Kinda sweet but not to much. It had a good smokey taste too. The spicy teriyaki sauce was awesome too. Not spicy but it was delicious. Then we tried the mango Habanero. It had a kick but in a good way. It had the fruity undertones with the sweet kick of the Mango. Really really good. We also tried the scary and the ghost sauce. Both were awesome. The scary was very hot but the ghost will blow your head off but in a good way. If you like heat. The ghost is for you. Had a great flavor not just heat. This place is great. When you walk in you seat yourself. I like that because you can pick the game you want to watch and sit there. Waitstaff is super great and funny.

This is my new favorite wing place, thanks to Phillip B. For turning us on to this place. The smokes wings are truly special, and they are insanely good. A lot of smoked wings are too dry, but not these. They are so popular they were out of them on our visit yesterday. But when a door is closed a window opens… bring on the golden wings. These are truly special. They are marinated and seasoned ahead of time and then fried to a golden crunchy goodness. They come with sauce on the side because they have such a great flavor on their own. I’ve tried them with several sauces and they all worked well. If you want a really hot sauce with good flavor also, try the ghost sauce, it will have you crying tears of joy. I’ve tried 8 or so of the sauces and they have all been great. They also offer grilled, breaded and original«naked» style wings. I’m staying with the smoked and golden, cause they are unique and delicious. They have a lot of good looking items on the menu in addition to wings, but I can’t stop ordering wings. Love em, love em, love em!

Need a place to hang out, drink beers, eat wings and not be in an overly commercialized restaurant? This is your place then; locals everywhere, awesome servers, few patio tables out front and inexpensive prices. Pass on the nachos as they are not impressive and neither is the interesting guacamole served with them. Thanks to our waitress who comped them from our bill because we each took one bite and said not thanks. The mozzarella sticks are worth a go though! The way it works: 1. Pick your wing style: original, boneless, country style, golden, grilled or smoked.(Keep in mind your sauce choice to make sure they combine well) 2. How many do you want(10 gives you a choice of 2 sauces and 15+ gets you a choice of 3 sauces-5 wings per flavor) 3. Wait anxiously to see if your self crafted wing choices paid off or not. We did: Golden Style in Spicy Teriyaki(Note: Sauce comes on the side for Golden Style) Smoked Style in Jamaican Jerk Original Style(Extra Crispy) in Garlic Parmesan Pass on the Spicy Teriyaki sauce or at least that is my advice. The cooking style I liked the best was the original and ask to have them extra crispy. The best sauce by itself was the garlic Parmesan but, the best combination by far was the Smoked Style with the Jamaican Jerk. Those babies will keep me coming back to this place!

Absolutely love this place! My go to for every college and some NFL football games. Delicious wings and waffle fries. Sad that they took away the pepperoni rolls, but haven’t found a better frozen margarita in Austin yet. This place is the shiznit. gigem!

I’ve referred several people to this business. I also frequent here. I have had good experiences here on other occasions. However, today the service was absolutely terrible. I asked for the Wingz Up poutine. I normally get it on waffle fries. I forgot to ask for waffle fries and when I got it it was on regular fries. I informed the server that I normally get it on waffle fries and he said there’s nothing that he could do about it. I am always willing to pay and tip very well. He said that they weren’t going to do anything about it. I asked for the manager he said that was him. His name is Meryl. He’s the manager, the owner, the server, the bartender etc. I have never been treated so rudely. He took our order from a table away and was awful. I’m sure that he doesn’t care if I never return, but I was furious. And will not ever give them another dime. I will not recommend anyone else here. Terrible. I have never seen a person get so upset over some French fries. ******** update**** owner came back to the table after he read my review to inform me that I misspelled his name in my review and even circled it to so that I could be sure to get it right. It’s spelled Merrill. Very rude. I am a business owner and have never treated anyone like this. I’ll be sure to let all of my customers know. I hate to bring up other things so I’ll stick to the most pertinent parts. Service is terrible. I’ll also notify the BBB.

ITSTINKS. !!! Went here for lunch today. 50 cent wings, good pricing. I ordered the spicy teriyak boneless wings. I think they tasted good? Honestly they were hard to taste, because i was holding my nose and breathing through my mouth the whole time. This palce STINKS! If it is important for thr place you eat to smell good, or at least not stink, DONOTGOHERE! To make worse, they had one waitress for whole restaurant for all lunch, making me stand the smell that much longer.

I came here the other day to pick up a quick lunch. I called my order ahead and was there in time to pick it up — only to have to wait another 30 minutes. The restaurant was super packed and crowded, and waiting wasn’t very pleasant — no one offered me water, the stools were uncomfortable, and I didn’t get updates about my order. 10 wings and some fries should not take 45 minutes, people! Especially when you tell me 10 – 15 on the phone. Once I got my food, it was ok — generally oversalted, greasy, and bland. The cheese fries came with real grated cheese which I liked, but it was totally congealed and cold by the time I got home — sooo, how long were they sitting there? Just not a great experience all around.

The grilled wings are the best! Lots of really solid fried snacks– the mozzarella sticks are incredible. Only knock is that service can be kind of spotty, but for a campus sports bar, it’s a definite must-try!

I wish I had never found this place. I’ve been here twice now, I live only a few minutes away. The first time I got grilled wings in hot sauce. I arrived and sat at the bar while waiting for my food. The abience in this place is great. Slightly sports bar-ish, but not ostracizing. I don’t look like a typical sports fan(even though I am one) and I didn’t feel out of place at all. The bartender came over after a few minutes nad let me know that it was going to be a few more, because they only had 14 wings left, so they were cooking some more to make sure I got 15. I was pretty impressed at the transparency and honesty, as I would have probably not noticed. The wings were delicious, properly sauced, not greasy and didn’t make me unhappily full after. Tonight, I felt lazy so I ordered Favor to go pick up some food(two entrees, one person, y’know…just in case one wasn’t great). I had the canadian style poutine and the Austinite’s Special(Chicken and Waffles). I opted for tenders. I’ve never felt so compelled to write a Unilocal review than when I opened the bag. WingzUp uses vented packaging, so my fries were fresh and crisp even though it had been 15 minutes since they were packaged. Normally fries are soggy, even when they are packed with the best intentions. They packaged some wonderful quality cheese curds in the gravy in a separate bowl. Delicious, I inhaled it. The Chicken and waffle were equally well packed. They even put a layer of parchement between the tenders nad waffles so the waffles didn’t soak up all the grease. Now, I will say, if you’re looking for a really crisp belgian waffles… Favor delivered is probably not the route to go. Regardless, I ate it happily. What really impressed me were the tenders. For the price of the item, I expected some skimpy tenders. What I got were two large tenders, easily one large chicken breast, fried perfectly. The Honey BBQ on the side was great. Seriously, I wish I had never found this place. I sense a new comfort food place.

Sorry but my review has to change. Been here before & have had awesome wings & excellent service. Today’s visit, however, was absolutely disgusting! That smell, oh my god, made my wife want to vomit & I don’t blame her. I let the bartender know why we decided to leave & she apologized profusely for the smell & how its an ongoing problem at the restaurant & how they’re fighting with the landlords over it. Sorry Charlie. Either WingZup needs to move or they need to get their shit together. If you want to enjoy WingZup eat outside or deal with the nasty smells & odors inside.

Sometimes you want wings that aren’t going to make you feel like you gained 10 pounds(coughPluckerscough). I have heard about this place and after a Friday night wing-craving, I stopped in. I called to order and the person on the phone was upbeat and a joy to talk to. I could definitely tell it was busy there due to the background noise but they didn’t try to rush me or get me off the phone quickly. Said it will be about 30 minutes. Ended up being around 50 minutes to get my wings out but hey – they were packed and it was a Friday night. My wings were fresh fresh fresh fresh. Very hot, crisp and very meaty. My only complaint is that I wish my lemon pepper things had a little more lemon to them… and you kinda feel in the way when picking up a to-go order because you pick up at the bar. Clean place, with TVs, a bar and hot, fresh wings. Can’t wait to try out more flavors.

Are these chicken wings or angel wings? Holy smokes Wingzup wings are awesome! I’m a Pluckers devotee, but Wingzup’s wings recently became my favorite wings in Austin. Ironically enough, I would have never tried Wingzup if my brother and I had not had an impossible time getting a table at Pluckers, I just Unilocaled wings and I was shown the light. The original wings are outstanding, and yet both the grilled and smoked wings are outstanding-er, thank goodness for the sampler option! My favorite combinations so far are Smoked Ghost BBQ and Grilled Spicy Garlic, but I also want to give a shout out to the classics Original Hot and Original Lemon Pepper which are really good. And apparently I give out shout outs now. Also the Wingzup Poutine is awesome sauce, I highly recommend. The place is smaller than Pluckers, but fortunately it is surrounded by TVs, which makes it perfect for watching games. The service is a little slow, but I honestly think they are understaffed, because they are very helpful and friendly. I still love Pluckers, but Wingzup earned a place in my heart, and let’s face it, there’s plenty of me to go around, ladies. Shout out to the ladies.

The grilled wings are delicious! Definitely go for them instead of the fried wings. The waffle fries are delicious too. The bloody marys are good, but not good enough for that steep price of $ 7 per drink! Game Day Tips: Watch out on game day because when it gets crowded, people will sit next to you & ask to join your table. If you let people join you, even though you may not know them, then the waitress will treat you as a group and charge you 20% gratuity. We’ve made the mistake of not realizing that and then tipping on top of the 20%. :-\ Get there early and you’ll have your choice of seating & they will allow you to choose which tv you want your team on. They are very accommodating if you get there early. They went out of their way one time when I needed to do work on my computer. They searched the place high & low to find me an outlet so that I could plug in my laptop. Very nice staff & great wings.
