Be prepared to wait A LONGTIME. I came in before a rush, ordered 2 juices and about 10 people who ordered smoothies left before me. When I was getting ready to ask for a refund, I finally received my order. They really need to find a new system because the one they have is not working.

I went to Jellyfish twice during my week long stay in Avalon. The first time, I chalked the 35 minutes it took to get my very basic order up to bad timing as it was breakfast rush. On the way home on our last day, we decided to stop there bc it was closer than the bagel shop. I grabbed two already prepared egg sandwiches and ordered a coffee, smoothie, and buttered bagel. At a bagel shop, this order would take 5 minutes MAX, even with a massive crowd. After 10 minutes of waiting, I got my smoothie. I then waited another 15 minutes for a buttered bagel. A BUTTEREDBAGEL! That is a 30 second order. And we were there 25 minutes at that point. To make it worse, I saw the bagel sitting toasted in the toaster for a good 10 minutes, and seriously I was about to go butter it myself. My brother just left while still waiting for HIS smoothie, bc it appeared it would never be made… and noticing that they went on to make another order, I left without my coffee assuming I would literally never get it. So my brother and I both ate money for things we paid for but never got bc we had to leave. So, two times I tried and both times took as long for a take out order as it would have taken me to sit down, order, eat, and pay at the Waffle House down the street.(And the pre-prepared egg sandwiches were soggy and cold). Get it together, ladies. Three people behind the counter is too few. You’re all very nice but, «we’re doing our best» only gets you so far in the cut throat world of restaurants and cafes!

Well after having gotten a bunch of Acai bowls from various places this summer, I have once again been disappointed. The one I had here was pretty bland and lacking in anything except granola and banana. I have to mention that this banana I literally threw all away because it was so bitter and green, so it was just atrocious. My boyfriend had gotten a smoothie and it was decent, but nothing special for the price. Sadly, we will not be returning.

Jellyfish Juice Bar is my favorite new place in Avalon! They have the best coffee on the island and amazing acai bowls. Their Avalon bowl with exotic amazon fruits is unbelievable. Everything is made fresh to order by their friendly staff. When it is busy there might be a little wait but it is always worth it to get fresh, tasty food!

I was really excited to try out this new spot for breakfast and I think it will improve once some of the first season kinks are worked out. I came in with a friend and we both got lox bagels, mine came out in a timely manner and was delicious, except that the onions that were supposed to be on the sandwich were missing and the sprouts I’d asked them to add were wilted and slimy. I got an iced Americano and it was so bitter it was unbearable to drink and I asked for my money back. I had completely finished my sandwich and my friend hadn’t even gotten hers, we asked one of the girls working and she said the slip had been thrown out and quickly made it. By the end of this probably 45 minute ordeal I realized no one had ever given me the banana I’d ordered and had to flag someone down yet again to get one. All of that being said, the girls working there were all very courteous and apologetic which is probably the only thing that saved the experience.

This is my favorite place in Avalon for breakfast/lunch. They have amazing juices, smoothies and sandwiches with extremely fresh ingredients and lots of healthy options. The espresso is hands-down the best in town. The staff is great and very friendly. Also, they do beach delivery.
