Very nice dinner with a friend. Chicken Oscar was delicious and perfectly cooked. It was accompanied by tender asparagus, mixed vegetables, red potatoes and a large garden salad. Onion soup was good with a great presentation. A bit too breadth for me, but good. The summer salad was fresh and fruit toppings were abundant. Crusty warm rolls accompany every meal. We enjoyed the décor. Old school but clean.

Ok sushi, your really here just for the atmosphere and the happy hour so better off sticking to simple apps and drinks and getting dinner somewhere else.

I love the summer salad! Best salad at the jersey shore! Half price sushi on Sunday’s is a great deal and tastes great! I have never had a bad meal there!

I am betwixt and between on this review. We went on Saturday around 5:30 pm to meet some friends in the inside bar for drinks and decided to roll into dinner. This place is truly schizophrenic, with a raging 20 something happy hour going on right next to old people like me eating dinner. I got a Philly roll -(sadly no tamari sauce) and the seared tuna with the with lump crabmeat and bernaise. It was decadent. Our server was earnest, but a little scattered, but kept us apprised of what was going on. I would’ve loved a rose to be available(not just a sparkling one). My guess is, that if you avoid the 4 – 7 gang on Saturday night, it will be a 4 star experience.

My family visited the Whitebrier this past week. We had a great time. Our server Teresa did a wonderful job serving us and moving things along as we had little ones with us. Teresa suggested we order the seafood penne pasta which was delicious. We also tried some sushi which was fresh. Of course the kids had chicken fingers which made them happy. We will return. Service was great, food was delicious, and drinks were cold.

I had the seared tuna with sautéed colossal crab and it was excellent. Tuna was rare, as it should be. The crab was delicious, and there was lots of it! The parm risotto was also very tasty. The green beans were a bit tough, not crispy nor tender. My wife had the veal whitebrier which was also very good. Great flavor combinations. One of the medallions was tough but the rest were nice and tender. Portions were generous, including the kids burgers(which looked great by the way!). Christy was our waitress and she took great care of us! We recommend and would certainly go back!

Can’t believe I was charged $ 10 to get in here. The DJISTERRIBLE. I didn’t eat or anything but as afar as a night spot goes, I’d recommend finding another option.

We ate outside and the place was a good compromise for my family because two of us like seafood/sushi and two of us don’t touch it at all. It was a cool spot, and there is a menu for the more formal restaurant and kind of a smaller sandwich menu for the patio restaurant. Our waitress gave us both, so I’m guessing that’s standard and it really gives you more choices. It also had two different bar menu’s so it was a pretty good list of draft beers. I had a pretty tasty French Dip sandwich that came with fries. I split some bruschetta as an appetizer, nothing special but not bad either. My sister and Dad ordered sushi, clams, ahi tuna and shrimp. They seemed pleased with the sushi and everything else as well. It’s a good spot, we’ll probably head back next time we’re in Avalon.

LOVEEE their crab fries with actual crab. Granted it’s not like fresh lump crab meat, more like fried tiny balls of crab but it’s still pretty good. I’m obsessed with their asian salad. the tuna and salmon were seared perfectly, the sauce was a little over abundant, but better than not having enough dressing at all.

Happy hour is a gold mine but I wish WB would invest in some fans inside and outdoors on the patio, possibly with water that can shoot from the fans, to relieve its patrons from dripping sweat

We had my sisters bachelorette party dinner outside at the Whitebriar Restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Our server was patient with our large group and really made the whole experience a great one. My sister had a fabulous night! I will definitely be returning.

We recently held our son’s rehearsal dinner here. It was off-season and a Thursday night so we had the place to ourselves for our group of about 35. Bridget Tracy worked with us on the arrangements and menu. It was a wonderful experience! The room had a warmth to it, the staff was so attentive and helpful, and the food certainly exceeded our expectations. We were so happy with our choice and highly recommend the Whitebriar.

The service was good and the outdoor space is nice. But the sushi is not real sushi, it was really lacking in authentic flavor.

Food is decent. Sushi is the best option… Lots of extravagant rolls($ 25) No Shower is a one and done. Super crowded, and super drunk. Lots of Basketball Jerseys, and shirtless meatheads. Bar at night is hit or miss… Can get packed, but outdoor aspect keeps it from getting to hot. Big downside is smoking is allowed outside and it can get a little much. Crowd at night is typically college age and fairly drunk, less douchey than happy hour however. Not my favorite spot, but decent sushi… And can be good for people watching.

This place is a pretty good bar. Went for the no shower happy hour this weekend. It was fun. Very crowded kind of a mixed aged crowd. Drinks were good. Most of the bars are cash only so i suggest you bring cash. However you can go to one bar that allows cards. $ 20 minimum for cards though. We wound up getting a table and getting some food. I do not recommend the sushi. It was not good and not sure but I think it did not sit well with me. However, their crab cheese fries are amazing. I remember them being a little pricy like $ 16, but this is avalon, they have huge clumps of crab meat with cheese over big steak fries. They are seriously amazing. We wound up getting a second order for the table because everyone wanted to keep eating them. SOO good! overall I do not think its a great eating place, but as a bar its fun and a nice outside alternative to the Princeton.

We ate here just last week. We had to wait for a table outside — there was no wait inside. The prices were typical Avalon NJ prices — higher than what you pay back home. The service was friendly. Now onto the food. I had their wings which were good, not great. I liked their special sauce which could best be described as a hot BBQ sauce. The winds were cooked fine but there was way too much sauce. My friend had the filet and crab cake but the waitress got the order wrong and it only came out with the filet. She fired up a crab cake which was excellent. The filet was excellent too. My son and I had the sushi which was tasty and fresh. It was a little more expensive than home, but then again we are in Avalon. We liked the Whitebrier and glad we gave it a go for the first time in 4 years.

Thanks to Denise, our server, for a great dinner. This place is such a nice spot to sit outside for dinner. It’s a shame that is gets so rowdy with the young, drunk yuppies in pastels shorts on the weekend. Even for a 7:30PM reservation, it can be difficult to hear your server and for them to hear you. I highly recommend the coconut shrimp and shore summer salad. Most of the apps are good for sharing for 2 – 3 people. The calamari is a huge serving for upwards of 3 people. They have a long list of sushi for you to choose from so this makes for a good place to try something new! They make some great sushi. Full bar so bring your drinking pants. But please leave your pastel shorts at home.

I am in a love hate relationship. I loving hitting up the WB for happy hour, dancing and having a great time however over the years a lot has changed. I miss the half priced sushi during happy hour and during holiday weekends and the end of the summer the crowd here is almost unbearable . Try to go to happy hour early if you want a table!

Moderate as a restaurant, decent as a night club/bar. Stopped in several times over the course of a week in Avalon. Food was very good just pricey. We hadn’t tried the sushi, but the restaurant food is probably worth it. The steak & cake I think won the tastiness award from our group. Had a cute Kid’s Karaōke in the evening some of the nights, would be worth a stop in for dinner if you’ve got young ones in tow. As far as nightlife goes, it’s not the greatest of dance floors, but they’ve got cheap beer specials, and the crowd is decent. Good place to go if you’re just up for mingling/sitting around on the deck though. Rum bucket is by far the most efficient use of your money drink-wise, it’s large, tasty, and relatively cheap.

Some friends and I hit up Whitebrier for a Saturday happy hour a couple weeks ago. I had been there once or twice before, but that was years ago. Happy hour featured something like a dollar off all drinks. Meh. Regardless, the place was crowded. And when I mentioned this to a friend, she said it was practically empty compared to how it normally gets. Hmm… probably not a place I’d want to be on what is considered a normal night. Honestly, there’s really nothing great or terrible about the place, which is why I’m going with an A-OK. The bar that’s partially indoors does have a/c, which was great considering it was pretty humid on the evening of our visit. I’m probably just getting too old for this schtick, but I’d be just as happy if not happier hanging with drinks on the deck of a shore house.
