It’s really too bad about this place. I will tell you why. I use to love to come here over the summer when we would visit and would brush off the rudeness from the individuals that work here. The drinks were never particularly great, but there is something about getting an iced coffee drink and going down to the beach that I enjoy. Now that we are locals to the area, I will avoid Joe Momma’s. I’m not putting money into the pockets of people that treat their customers like garbage. Like I said, it’s too bad because I know lots of locals that feel the same way I do now about this place and its employees. We will go just about anywhere else!

I was excited walking in here, thinking it was going to be a great new, jolly experience. I left a bit disappointed. The service is just okay — they could have been more engaging. The prices were a bit ridiculous in my opinion. I got the chai and the latte –neither blew my mind. The chai was the equivalent of something I could make myself at home. Small size for both and it ended up being $ 11. If I were to be completely honest, I would’ve given it a two star, but I don’t like giving low ratings unless absolutely necessary. The location is to die for though! Maybe that explains why their costs have to be so high.

Great little shop with cool upstairs lounge and the best scones I have ever had — bacon-date scones! Very relaxing and beautiful ocean view.

Good way to start the day while staying at Avila beach! Just about any type of coffee one could want here, as well as pastries! The historic old photos of Avila Beach that are posted all over the shop are worth a look. Avila Beach sure has changed since the old days!

Our favorite central coast coffee shop. Excellent coffee and love sipping while sitting in their adirondack chairs overlooking the ocean!

I went here based on a recommendation from my hotel. I walked in and was greeted less-than-warmly but figured no biggie. I also expressed excitement at their menu and the view that I was looking forward to soaking in as I spent a few hours working there(I was told they had internet by the hotel). And yes, I voiced these thoughts to them because I figured, if they didn’t have wireless, they’d let me know as a courtesy, right? Wrong. I ordered my tea, found my seat, set up the computer and then, when unable to determine their modem name, asked. The response was«Uh, we don’t have internet here.» OK, dude. But I could have done without the attitude. In 2016, with the internet being as ubiquitous as it is, perhaps a «no internet» sign would be nice. Oh, but wait, then you’d probably lose some business. Glad I bought my beverage before I had to take it back to my room to drink it. :(NB: I was later told by the front desk that AB isn’t always«receptive» to out-of-towners. Again, ok. I get it. You’re a close-knit community, but nobody deserves to be snubbed over a coffee.

This place is the real deal! I’m picky about my espresso but love it here. Don’t expect immediate results but worth the wait. What a beautiful ocean view.

Went in for an refreshing iced coffee to drink while I walked around the shops. My SMALL drink came out to $ 7…ouch. It took literally 3STRAWSIPS before all the coffee was gone. Why? The freaking thing was filled to the very top with PUREICE. Most disappointing $ 7 I’d ever spent. I paid 7 bucks for coffee flavored ice. Other than that, it tasted good. If you buy an iced drink from them, ask for LITELITE ice.

We love the coffee at out favorite coffee place in Avila Beach. I love Chelsea’s Blueberry Lemon muffins. Kelly and I like the cappuccinos and enjoy the medium roast brewed coffee. If you want a good brew with a great view, go to Joe Momma’s coffee!

Disappointed with each visit I’ve had to Joe Mommas. Coffee is good, but not amazing especially for the premium price, but, the biggest issue I have encountered was the terrible service. One time my girlfriend and I each ordered iced coffees and after about 10 minutes waiting we asked when it would be ready and we were responded to with a harsh«it takes time and when yours is ready it will be ready» response. Its really a terrible representation of the SLO life and culture we strive to maintain here on the central coast.

Stopped by early for some coffee, 8am, lol… Not too early. There seems to be a good following, as regulars hover outside the front door and talk about who knows what. They must be regulars because everyone seems to know one another. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue, but the area is so dang small, that these regulars make it difficult and awkward for any first-timers trying to weasel their way through them all to buy a cup of joe. The service here was friendly, though. And the coffee was actually pretty good. The only complaint is the size/layout of the shop. Which makes the experience a little more stressful when you don’t know where to go, and have no direction from the staff. People wait in line like they are at Disneyland. All cramped in a small area. But besides that, I would recommend.

The coffee is amazing — perfectly brewed, and the location has an epic view. I’m giving only three stars because the hours are incorrect on Unilocal, and I made a special trip out for this delicious coffee not once, but twice. The first time I lucked out and there was still coffee available. I figured they must close early on Sunday’s. I mean who closes at 2PM, I thought to myself!!! The second time there was someone at the counter closing and counting money and she said that they were closed. I was SUPERBUMMED. So make a note my teller friends. these folks close at 2PM during the winter! :(

Intelligentsia coffee is always a plus. Great location directly across the ocean in Avila Beach. Good foamy cappuccino. Restrooms are closed because of the drought — which, really? With $ 5 coffee drinks they can’t afford to have restrooms? Upstairs seating available.

Joe Mamma’s coffee is a great place! With brewing of Intelegensia coffee, they do a great job and making their drinks very smooth/silky while sipping. My selected drink for a coffee shop for the first time is an espresso macchiato(two-shot). It was delicious! The second drink got was a latte with organic hazelnut flavor and that was great as well.

Ordered the large pomegranate iced green tea and it was soooo refreshing and thirst quenching. Good but pricey at $ 3.50. I’m deducting a star because my small bladdered boyfriend tried to use their bathroom but was unable to. Turns out this place blames the closing of their bathroom on the California drought and noted this on their door in a 2 page long explanation. Their customers have to pee/poo somewhere and are forced to go to the beach restrooms where they will still be forced to consume California’s water resources. TIP to store management — DIG A HOLE and go asian style if you really want to save California some water :)

Avila Beach is a creepy Stepford-y beach town with a fake vibe — like Beach by Disney. But it’s near my favorite nude beach, Pirates Cove… so I’ve been here for coffee a couple of times. In my experience(I’m no coffee snob) the house brew is fine. They also serve snacks, like boxed oatmeal and pastries and stuff. On my last visit, I had a bacon-date scone that was TODIEFOR. I mean, it was REALLY good! Parking is very convenient, and the place looks right out at the water. It would get a higher rating if it weren’t in that creepy-ass fake beach town.

Nice location right on the beach. Coffee was good and the service was okay. View — Spectacular couldn’t ask for better view of the ocean and the pier. Tables are located right out side so you can kick back and enjoy your cup of coffee. Coffee — I had the caramel vanilla latte which was pretty good. Coffee is smoothe and non acidic which I like. Goes down easy. I still haven’t found anything that even compares to Aikane Coffee on the Big Island of Hawaii. I would come back for another round! Based on location alone and to try a different flavor of coffee.
