Really good burger joint. If you’re looking for something else this isn’t the place. However if you’re in the mood for a really good great prices burger this is where the locals go. They have a great variety, homemade onion rings and they serve beer.

On my way home to Galveston, and after 3 years of passing this place… I finally try it. Got the fried egg burger w/fresh sliced avocado, 2 big pcs of bacon, fried egg medium over easy with just enough yoke, provolone & tomato on wheat. $ 8. Everything about it was fantastic — and made to order. (the only flaw was the beef could have been prepared with salt & pepper – for more flavor) With that said… I ATE the WHOLE thing!!! Side of tater tots… crunchy fried goodness $ 2.88 The staff… very inviting and friendly. They keep the place tidy too. Buy local. Support local.

Seasoned shoestring french fries were the best. Wild hog burger was excellent. It was handmade ground beef with bacon cut up in it. Couldn’t ask for a better burger.

Unique Burgers and Pseudo Rustic Charm. This was my first time to visit Stomp’s after several recommendations by friends and family. Pros: — The restaurant was clean overall. — The staff was friendly and attentive. — The menu offered a good assortment of options. Cons: — The food was average. — The food is pricey for what they offer. From the recommendations I got I was expecting a «Greasy Spoon», «Hole-In-The-Wall» «Ma and Pa» Burger Joint. Which was actually the selling point for me. By the looks of the outside that’s exactly what I was expecting. However, once inside it was a different story. They had gone to great lengths to replicate that«Side-if-the-Road» Rustic Charm. Everything was designed to look old. :Sigh: The service was stellar. We were greeted with a smile and a pleasant demeanor from start to finish. We were met immediately upon entering and was given menus and drinks shortly after finding our booth. After taking our order, our waitress stopped by several times to ask how our food was, if we needed anything and to refill our drinks. After hearing so many rave reviews about the food, I was less than satisfied with my meal. I was however, pleased with the type of menu options that were available. I ordered the Hog Wild which is a beef patty with rendered bacon mixed in, along with a full side of fries. The burger itself was OK, but there was no bacon flavor at all. The fries were almost inedible. They were salty and undercooked. Overall I would recommend Stomp’s, but I won’t over sell it as anything more than a basic burger restaurant.

Two and a half years later we decided to try it again, thanks to one of our favorite servers taking a job there. Man what a difference! The place is cleaner than I remember it and the food was much, much, much better. We understand there is new ownership, and boy does it show. Pickle and Jalapeño appetizer, philly cheese steak and coleslaw were all excellent, and the beer was coooooollld! Thanks to Tara for reintroducing us to Stomp’s.

I’ve been to Stomp’s several times now and can honestly say that it deserves the 5 stars. The service is great, the food is delicious and the prices are very fair, especially when you consider the portions. I’ve gotten a few different burgers now and each of them has been super yummy and huge, though a bit greasy. If you’ve been to Tookies, the burgers are pretty much the same(don’t they share an owner or something?). The meat is seasoned really well and kind of crispy around the edges, and pretty thick. They have a lot of interesting burger choices, too. My boyfriend likes to get the Frito Beandito. The fries are good, the sweet tea is delicious, the atmosphere is great… The place is tiny but I don’t mind. It feels very homey and comfortable. Overall, if you love a good juicy burger, try this place out ASAP!

Food is amazing and very affordable! The downfall of this place will be their horrible customer service because of their horrible waitresses! My cheese dip had very little chips I asked for more and never got it. The drinks were never refilled and the waitresses were very loud and unprofessional! Not acceptable! I also witnessed a waitress on her cell phone while cleaning the table INFRONT of the customers! People walking out on them because they were not being serviced and people complaining about then never getting their drinks on time and even had to go get their own drink! I have coming there for a few years and I think this will be my last!

They were good when they first opened. Last 3 visits have been very unimpressive. Food didn’t taste the same. Burger is falling off the bun. I don’t know how I’m suppose to eat a hamburger when all the meat falls out… Ordered a favorite from a few months back and it didn’t taste the same at all. Not sure what’s going on here but food has been very inconsistent

After going to Tookies a number of times, I finally decided to give Stomps a shot. This wasn’t easy, because I enjoyed Tookies each time I’ve been there and was afraid to risk a sure thing that was just up the road. Heading down to Galveston, we pulled into Stomp’s for lunch. The parking lot was just about empty compared to Tookies just a few miles behind us. We went inside and the dining room was fairly basic if not completely uninspired. Don’t use Ike as an excuse, because plenty of time has passed. The inside was also really cold, and you rarely hear that complaint from me. The service was quick, polite and efficient, and they had no issue moving us to the back area that wasn’t quite as cold as the front. OK, the burgers. This place is about the burgers, and you’re just not going to get much better than Stomp’s. I went with the double cheeseburger with just meat and cheese. The bun was good, but the meat was great. It had wonderful flavor, cooked just right and had the right amount of juice. Overall, for your basic cheeseburger, you’re not going to top it. Now, it could be better by offering a fresh baked jalapeño cheese bun, but that goes beyond your basic cheeseburger. My wife got the chili cheeseburger, and she said it was sensational. She didn’t offer me a bite. My kids had the chicken strips, which they devoured, and they looked good. Although I’m still a Tookies fan, if I’m stopping for a burger in the Kemah area, it’s most likely going to be Stomp’s. I thought the burger was just a little bit better, and once you combine that with faster service and no wait to be seated, I can’t really see a reason for going to Tookies other than they have a little bit more on their menu. The onion rings at Stomp’s looked fantastic, but I, unfortunately, didn’t give them a try — this trip.

Nice little burger dive. Food was pretty good, our waiter seemed distracted. Made little mistakes, drinks without straws, food without silverware, food was late getting to the table so it was warm, but not hot. We ordered Chili Cheese Fries, got them AFTER we finished our burgers. I’m sure this doesn’t happen all of the time. My wife and I assumed the waiter had things going on outside of work. It was very obvious. All and all we liked the place, the staff and the food. Great burger choices.

Burgers still great but lousy attitude from the red headed waitress. Finally Anna came over to take my order. I won’t be back for a while. I don’t like being ignored and given an attitude. Management needs to give an attitude adjustment to the red head or fire her. Ignoring regulars isn’t good for business.

Small shack with good food. I recommend the Round Up if you like chili cheese fries. They add bacon bits and sour cream(I don’t like guacamole so I get it without) and it’s delicious. The kids and I split it whenever we go. The burgers are nicely seasoned, big portions, lots of fixings, depending on what kind you get. Skip the normal ones and take a look at their specialties, you’ll find something for everyone. The plain fries and the onions rings are pretty good, too. You can add cherry, vanilla or chocolate syrup to your drink, which makes for a nice treat. Ask about their desserts, they don’t have them listed on the website, but they’re worth checking out. All in all, with the atmosphere and the service, it feels like a small town type of place. The kind of place everyone in town likes to go to and for good reason. If you leave hungry, you did it wrong.

This place gets 5 stars for the deep fried brownie! They have battered fried hot dogs! Unheard of! And delicious! I also tried the rattlesnake bites — a must try!!! And I tried the angus beef burger with bacon mixed in. Yum yum yum. First visit, but I’m in love!

Wanting to go somewhere other than our usual haunts, we decided to go to Stomps after reading the great reviews. First impressions are everything(sorry that’s the Realtor in me) and when I walked in, I immediately thought this place was a serious dive, NOT that I have an issue with dives, but when they have warning signs about not tripping on the super uneven floor, then I have a little bit of an issue. There was only 1 available table in the main area, which was dirty, so we sat in the«add-on» in the back. We were greeted by the server fairly quickly and she brought us our drinks, but when she came back to take our order, the Hubs was not ready, so we asked for just another minute so he could decide. Well that turned into being a 15 minute wait and I was getting pretty hangry by that time. I ordered the Bison burger with no cheese and no mayo. So when they brought my burger out, loaded down with cheese, I started to question if this was even my order, especially since they tried to bring someone else’s food to us prior to ours coming out and totally forgot about another table’s order. The burger was good(surprisingly juicy for Bison since it’s so lean), but it wasn’t better than what I could get a Tookie’s and definitely not better than what hubs makes at home. So, while it was an average burger, the wait time to order and get our food was too long for me … I think I’ll stick to Tookie’s or just stay home. LOL!

Another one of my favorite burger joints in the Houston — Galveston area. I’ve been coming here since it first opened and never had a bad meal. The burgers are fresh, never frozen hand-formed beef, which is almost a must for me these days. The patties are about 5oz each and have an average thickness. You can order a double on any specialty burger for $ 2 more. These Angus burgers have that greasy burger smell and taste, so kudos to that! I typically order the hog wild burger, with onion rings. Rings are hand battered, I never order the fries since they aren’t fresh cut, but frozen, probably from Sysco. You can choose either thin-cut or thick-cut onion rings. You should tell them how you want your patty cooked, because they don’t ask you, otherwise you might end up with a semi dry burger. I heard a horror story about my former colleague coming here and finding something very unusual in his burger patty one time, and it was so bad, they comped him for his entire meal, plus a dessert. Nothing bad has happened to me, so I’ll keep coming here every chance I get. I much prefer Stomp’s to the higher priced Tookie’s burgers in seabrook.

This place is pretty far for me for lunch so I tend to either get carry out or go on a Friday… there were a few exceptions to this rule because well, it’s pretty darn cheap. There are many varieties to the types of burger you would like such as buffalo! No, not the lean buffalo, but the buffalo sauce burger. YUM. I usually get a plate of fries/onion rings to share with my coworker because it’s $ 3. My burger is $ 5 – 6 dollars depend on how fancy you want to get so your meal comes around under 8 bucks. The patty is cook well and still juicy. It comes with condiments on the side such as lettuce and tomatoes. You pay at the counter once you’re done, but you can sit anywhere you would like when it’s not busy. Parking is still not paved and you’re going to be parked on gravel.

We have been wanting to try this burger place since we go to another one over the bridge from time to time. I’m glad we finally did. This burger was huge and delish! I got a cheese burger. They are ½ lb patties my friends. Great flavor on the pattie. I added avocado and jalapeños. It was awesome. Man piece got some type of chili cheese burger. I tried the chili and it was really good! I found that the burgers were not that greasy. The sides are huge. We ordered two. We only needed one. I got tots and he ordered a half and half with thin onion rings and fries. Huge order! Will remember that for next time. Great sweeten ice tea! Great service from our gal. We will be back
