5 stars for Pegasus! I love Bainbridge Island, and try to get out to spend a day there every couple months. This is one of my favorite lattes I’ve had while living in Seattle. The location of this coffee shop is fantastic, too — it’s right on the marina, so you can order your drink and walk right around the corner to overlook the water and all the sailboats. The inside is very cute too, lots of long wooden tables, and several sandwiches or pastries to choose from if you’re looking for a bite. They also have a selection of local beers/ciders if you’re in the mood. If you’re in the area, this is a must-go!

I find Pegasus very inconsistent. The coffee is hit or miss. The service is generally indifferent, but all too often borders on cold. Food is, for the most part, not worth prices charged. I think they must stay in business due to tourist traffic since it’s located close to the ferry path. I also think we’re going to stop trying Pegasus and will find a new spot. We always want to support local businesses but we’ve given Pegasus so many chances and have just been disappointed too often.

Wow used to like the coffee here. This morning I ordered 2 Americanos to go and I was the first customer. They didn’t rinse the machine before my coffee was made and the coffee reeked of Pully Caf cleaner. Terrible.

Deciding to escape our hotel’s breakfast bar, we tried this place one morning. Upon entering, one is struck by the rough-hewn interior until being inside more than 5 minutes — I felt like I was on the dishwashing line in a major restaurant. Clattering and crashing dishes right behind me made relaxation impossible. The coffee was good, as were the pastries and cookies. It was nice to see an outdoor seating option offered as an alternative to the sensory overload in the café. One last note, and I really wish it could be more positive: indoor seating is made up of wood and wrought iron picnic tables with little bitty seats that swing out. At my age, this was a big 0 for comfort. There are no tables for individual groupings, so private conversation or a cozy feeling are nil.

Pegasus is my favorite«go to» for a coffee and breakfast treat. It’s a bit pricey for what’s offered but the food is top notch. It’s easy to support a place that plays hosts to a variety of local suppliers. The ambiance is laid back and relaxed, welcoming to all(Which isn’t so of many establishments on the island) Love the diversity on the menu, the generous portions, the atmosphere, the support for local artists and businesses, the eclectic vibe.

Well, okay. I was so excited to try this place, and when we pulled up outside I was somehow even more excited. The exterior of the building is PERFECT, and the interior is really cute, quirky, and cozy. That’s about where it ended for me. There were like five employees standing around behind the bar just watching us try to awkwardly navigate the lack of a coffee drink menu. We both ended up ordering a caramel latte. I was asked what size and got an awkward reaction when I said«medium»(I’m sorry, I can’t see a menu, I don’t know what you call it here), and the whole ordering process was just siiiiiick awkward. The coffee was good, the pastry was gross, the atmosphere is awkward, the employees are snooty, and the space is cute. In short, my reaction to this experience was an annoyed sigh and an eye roll.

Dear Pegasus, I really want to like you. I’ve been here many times over the last year and I’m disappointed every time. Your baked goods are just… off. Today I got what was supposed to be a donut, but had the texture and flavor of a bagel. Blegh. Also, please train your baristas to make coffee. I think even Starbucks does better. And finally, the one thing you had going for you — the ambiance — is totally gone now that you’ve done away with the comfortable seating. Please live up to your potential! Some of us are not as easily impressed as the tourists. Sincerely, Still seeking a decent hangout spot

Considering the limited selection of places on Bainbridge Island, Pegasus truly shines as that down-home, laid-back coffee place just a few blocks off the main drag. Pegasus is located about halfway along the Waterfront walking trail that leaves from the ferry dock so it is a perfect rest stop in case the weather turns cold or rainy during your walk. We got to-go cups planning to drink coffee on our walk but decided to drink in-house after we ordered. Interior of the restaurant/coffee shop is quaint with a chalkboard food menu. A variety of small tables and bar seating options inside with a patio open when the weather is nice. Server at the bar was friendly and knowledgeable about items on the menu. My wife had a spicy Chai latte and I went with a Café Mocha. Chai had an interesting zip to it, and the café mocha was thick and rich. Prices were reasonable and we sat at a bar seat looking back on to the street. Enjoyed the coffee and the atmosphere. Excellent stop for a day trip to Bainbridge.

Service was awesome, as was my wife’s iced coffee. I had a cold beer on tap, very nice. Highly recommend — A+

It is an atrocity that this place is allowed to be called a coffee house. Absolutely the worst coffee I’ve ever had in 20 years. Barista didn’t have the foggiest notion of dosing measurement, extraction time, or how to froth milk. Horrible experience.

Our family of 5 came here for a nice place to relax and read after having breakfast at the Crêpe place nearby. We have visited this coffee shop many times over the years and love the atmosphere. The food is good and reasonably priced with a nice selection of healthy salads, soups, sandwiches and pastries. The tea selection was good with all of the amenities(honey, sugar, etc). Two things that were not so great: the coffee and one particularly unfriendly staff member. My husband had an americano with steamed cream that was very weak and watery. He didn’t finish the coffee. Most of the people behind the counter were nice and helpful however, there was one tall barista who made the coffee, served food and who took our order who seemed put off by her work. hoping it was just a bad day and not the norm. Overall, we would go back for the atmosphere and food although would consider trying another coffee shop too.

Out of all the reviews I have written I think this one for Pegasus coffee is the most inconsequential. And the reason I say that is because Pegasus coffee is located on Bainbridge Island. Everyone who is fortunate enough to know about Pegasus already does. I am not blessed with living on the island but thankfully visit my in-laws on a regular basis. I always go to Pegasus to get a latte and try some of their fresh baked treats. If I had three days to write this review on the First day I would think of sublime and beautiful prose to describe the atmosphere at Pegasus then I would edit my review and then rewrite it so that it was the most beautiful review the world has ever read. I’m not going to do that but Pegasus makes me want to. The ladies and one man offer incredible service. One day I ordered a cappuccino instead of a latte and did not realize. When I have drunk the coffee I noticed that it was not what I ordered. I brought it back and they made me a brand new drink at no extra cost. Then when I came in a couple of days later the young lady remembered and made a funny comment.

It’s a cool spot on Bainbridge, but the latte was not good. My wife and I both tossed ours after only a few drinks. Very disappointed to say the least…

If I could give zero stars I would. My man and I came in because we both wanted a nice coffee. They have been open since before Starbucks was even open. So naturally we thought ooooo goodie a nice local coffee house! :) both with big smiles. Once we walked in we noticed they actually have liquor. Which we were stoked because we like booze in our coffees. I mentioned I’d like her best coffee drink warm, with liquor. She says. She’ll make me a baileys and coffee. I said I was hoping for more of a cocktail mixology rather than just a plain jane coffee and baileys.(I can do that at home) While I’m searching the web for something id like, my boyfriend ordered a white chocolate coffee with a shot of Baileys. She literally have him about a half a shot for $ 7 ??? Usually when you buy a shot of baileys it’s only %17 alcohol so that means it should be a 3 ½ ounce shot… If you’re a coffee house with a full bar that customers can see. You should have a mixologist that can actually whip something up for you when you say what you’d like. Ashli was rude, unprofessional and obviously NOT a mixologist. I was so stoked at the beginning and now I will not be back… She did however refund the $ 7 for the baileys, but she didn’t even recollect that we were upset on the side. She literally went threw 3 customers before we finally got her attention and after we did she was rude to the new customer. She’s not a good barista. I was both a barista and a bartender. I’m not even sure she has her mixology license, I know how to do my jobs right. I am so upset I am writing this as I’m walking away. As far as her coffee. It was just okay. Not good not great just okay. A ton of foam no coffee art and no love! When I made coffee I made it with love. I’d make little art on it. Anyways… Hopefully the management can improve this and hire someone that actually IS a mixologist. Also I hope to get a response on how the owners improve this matter.

Took the sunrise ferry from Seattle to get here early — good thing too, this place fills up fast. But it is one of the only cafés open early for breakfast on a Sunday near the bainbridge ferry dock. Great French press coffee, and the Pegasus Benedict(get it with fresh salmon) is to die for, especially with the pesto sauce.

I came to Bainbridge Island for a day, and had a delicious late lunch at Pegasus. The atmosphere inside is gorgeous, perfect for a chilly afternoon. I had a ham, pear and rosemary soup with fresh Sourdough, and Beetroot Fries, which I decided to try, and was expecting deep fried crispy things, but was pleasantly surprised to have them served to me very lightly fried, and accompanied by a delicious curry mayo, which sounds yuk but was so so delicious! They had almond milk too, for my coffee, which was the cherry on the cake. Thanks for a lovely experience at the stunning Bainbridge Island! I’ll be back.

I stopped at the Pegasus on the way to catch a ferry. I needed a little breakfast and coffee. Pegasus is sort of off the beaten path, you have to turn down Madison toward the Harbor and make a hard right with the L in the street. This is a cute little place, emphasis on little, but they do have bar seating, outdoor seating, a nice couch seating area, several little tables, a big family seating table with cool attached seats, and a fireplace. Really, it’s cozy and warm. The service was super friendly, as we sat down at a bar seat. We were sort of in a hurry and the bar seemed like it might be quicker… I don’t know why I thought that, because it will always take a certain amount of time to make food, it really doesn’t matter where you sit. But, that is just how my mind was thinking that morning. But, this bar seat gave us a chance to chat with the folks working, which is why I know they are super friendly. This brings me to the coffee and food, and at the Pegasus, both are great. I had a large latte, which is my coffee of choice. My cutie had an Americano, which is his. Both were big, hot, and steamy. Basically, perfect. What I also like about the Pegasus, they have alcohol, which is sort of unheard of at a regular coffee shop. I didn’t have any Bailey’s or other alcohol, because I was heading into Seattle for a Glassblowing class and figured that even sober, hot glass is dangerous enough. But, the info on alcohol is good to know, there may be some morning I need a hot toddy and want it at the Pegasus.
There were a few specials of the day. I can only remember that there were two different types of breakfast cobblers, both were savory. I had a mushroom, bacon, goat cheese cobbler, and my cutie had the other one(I can’t remember what was in his, but he licked his plate). Both were very tasty and filling. They lasted us through a 4 hour class and until we had dinner. That seems really good to me. Good coffee and good food, super nice people, and it doesn’t take half your life waiting for the coffee or the food. This is my new favorite Coffee Joint on BI. See you there!
