As a local, doc’s is good not only for location but also as another restaurant in a small town. However, I was disappointed in my last visit because I believe the quality on the food and service have greatly declined. The burger was a frozen, preformed patty. They replaced the black bean burger with a nasty Boca burger. And it took forever just to get a beer. The wait staff didn’t even acknowledge we were there for at least 10 mins, then it took at least 10 – 15 mind to get drinks. Abs they all came at different times for the table. Finally food took at least 30 mins to get. Overall, we were there for over 2 hours. The service quality was low the last time we were there and it was even worse this time. For such a great location and the price, I would hope the food would be fresh and a burger would be handmade. Not so much. It will be at least another 6 months before we go back and only if we have to.

Popular waterfront casual dining establishment delivers the goods! THEROSES: Airy, pleasant dining space. Very large screened-in dining area allows for a near-alfresco dining experience but offers shelter from rain and wind. The waitstaff is young, but clearly well-trained and professional. The clam chowder is a particular standout. Good prices for what you’re getting. THETHORNS: Can sometimes be a bit aggressive with the seasoning. The day’s special(cajun mac & cheese) featured prawns that were cooked to perfection, but were so overly seasoned with a housemade blackening spice mix, you couldn’t taste the prawns, just the spice. THEVERDICT: Doc’s Marina Grill reminds me of a journeyman baseball player who doesn’t hit a lot of home runs, but can be counted on to deliver singles, doubles, and triples every time he steps up to the plate. This kind of workmanlike consistency goes a loooong way in this business. They are a solid ‘blue chip’ performer in this town. I recommend this restaurant!

Overpriced food for a very long wait. Not worth the wait or the price out the service. We noticed a quiet Thai restaurant next door. Should have done that.

1. Waited 30 minutes despite a bunch of empty tables in the back. 2. Never got silverware, even after they brought the food.(Got up and got my own.) 3. Food was okay. 4. Charged us $ 3 to split a plate. 5. Prices are too high for the ambiance. Last visit to this place.

A local recommended Doc’s to us on the ferry ride over to Bainbridge. We walked there easily from the ferry terminal. It is a beautiful location and it was a beautiful Memorial Day, sunny and warm! We were told it was a 35 minute wait so we put our name on the list & walked around by the waters edge. We noticed the patio and the lawn area had plenty of seating. 20 minutes later we came back by to check on our wait and noticed the SAME tables were still sitting empty so I said something and they said«you still have 15 min left» and I said but the tables have been sitting empty for 20 min!!! They argued that they had not and had just been cleared which was absolutely not true! They seemed to care more about holding to their wait time than seating guests. If it’s a staff issue then just be honest and not lie! Many patrons noticed the same thing I did and were asking the same thing I asked! Why so many empty tables and long wait times? Once we were sat out in the yard area we were immediately asked to move one table over which was in the sun! I said«no we are good here with some shade». I think they wanted us to move bc the waitress for our table just given a huge table of guests. Well, why make us move? Just switch waitresses around! Simple! So weird they would do that to the customer it wasn’t our fault she got busy. Just give our table to a less busy waitress… Simple! Food: Fish n Chips — good Pork sandwich — good Chicken sandwich — good Manny’s Beer — great Service: she did her best and said she put our order in before the large table But honestly it took so long I doubt it! Slowwwwwwwwwww Thankfully it was a pretty place!

Disappointed with the experience. Food was very average. Way over priced and service was awful. I know I was not the only patron who felt this way. We ordered a mix of burgers and sandwiches and it was a disappointment.

I’ve been here several times and all were good. Friendly service and good fun and a good crowd. Put this one on your list.

Amazing crab mac & cheese and they specify on the menu which dishes are gluten free. Try the crab risotto with leeks and asparagus; you will not be disappointed! The clam chowder is soooo good.

Virginia and I wake up early. It’s productive, but can be inconvenient — especially on vacation with a two hour time change. So, at 6 a.m. on our second day in Seattle, we found ourselves scrambling for an early morning activity. We eventually decided on taking the fairy to Bainbridge and then stumbled into the first restaurant we found that was open. We sat at the bar and began treating our hangovers with breakfast wine. The service was friendly and the food smelled really good, though we did not eat. We ended up chatting with some friendly folk who seemed to frequent the establishment and having a really great time. I was worried that we’d end up at a place that was overpriced and flippant, but I was very happily mistaken. Great decision all around.

Came here with my teenage son after exploring the island. My son couldn’t decide between fish & chips or the tempura shrimp, so that’s what we ordered to share. We also ordered a cup of clam chowder and the hummus appetizer. The clam chowder is some of the best Ive ever had, much better than mine and mine is good! The hummus was not my favorite. The entrees were outstanding and could not have been better, service was good, took a little while to get things we requested though. I’m taking one star off because, the first glass of water i got had ice with something weird frozen into it, it happens no big deal. The replacement glass had some weird yellow/orange stuff on the inside of the bottom of the glass. Kind of made me wonder about the rest of the table ware we were eating off of.

First time coming here but after a friends referral, this place was awesome. Great food, service and fair prices. We waited 30min to be seated Prices could have been a little better.

When arriving to the restaurant i was asked if I prefer a table inside or outside with a view. Since i had a limited time i said i prefer the first available table. It was a 30 minutes wait and the hostess added apologizing additional 10 minutes. When finally seated, half of the restaurants was empty, including several tables outside. After asking the hostess about it she answered they have to sit everyone in the order arriving regardless of their seating preference, which did not make sense. The service was slow. Took a long time to get the order but the food was delicious! I ordered the smoked salmon Mac and cheese and my friends got the the fish and chips. If you don’t mind the wait, the place is worth checking.

Came for lunch, party of 6. Great, friendly service from all their staff. Food was delicious, especially the calamari, ahi tuna tacos, kids chicken tenders. Views of the marina a plus. Waitresses were very attentive and checked on us frequently.

I was blown away by how good the brussel sprouts were. They were definitely worth the money, even if the portion size is a bit small. For a person like me who prefers quantity over quality usually, this praise means a lot. Otherwise the fish and chips and the tempura shrimp were okay and not particularly memorable. And of course their service is great, but I don’t usually give stars for that.

Torn between 2 or 3 stars, but I’ll shoot low here. Lovely marina view, but the acoustics in the building make conversation nearly impossible. Add the clanging dishes and any disruption from another table and you could go eat in the car. My crab risotto portion was hearty, but under seasoned and overwhelmed with green beans. Conversely, my companion’s salmon was skimpy and found dissatisfying. We came, we ate, we paid the tab, and on the way out I glanced into the servers’ station where the door was open. Close the door, folks, or clean that scummy mess up. Somebody is going to report you one day.

Excellent Crab Louie salad. There was a wait for a table but quite worth it. Prices very reasonable compared to Seattle. Service was good. I would definitely go again!

Average menu, typical bar food, simple but ok selection of draft beers, and good service all made slightly better by a great patio for summer dining. All in all, not bad, but aside from the view it isn’t anything special.

I have only good things to say about this restaurant. The food is amazing and the service is spectacular. Frida, our waitress, is very attentive. She has gone above and beyond cutting our sons chicken strips so they cool before they come out, bringing an extra steak knife when she saw we were sharing the prime rib and many more little things. She really made our dining experience something special.

One of a handful of places on Bainbridge Island that’s on the water. They’ve got the marina view, so they pretty much have a pass to serve mediocre food. Our waitress was lovely but I am not going to lie, our shared tuna tacos and salmon salad weren’t that good. The tuna tacos were far too crispy, falling apart with too much spicy mayo sauce. The tuna quality was sub par. The salmon fillet on our salad was a sorry, skinny end piece with a strange color. The kale salad could have been dressed better, it was pretty much just raw kale. The candied walnuts were nice. Expect picturesque views but sub par food.

We ended up here because we didn’t know that it was 21 and over at the harbor public house. We were outside on the«deck», which was very clean. The clam chowder was kind of chunky but very good. I did not like the steamed clams and mussels but the rest of my group ate all of them. The hummus was slightly spicy. The pita kind of tastes like a better pizza bread without sauce. The smell of fish from the water does not reach us over here, luckily. The Salmon Mac and Cheese doesn’t taste like regular Mac and Cheese but is okay. My group thought it was very good. The fish and chips are pretty good. My group thought the Coleslaw was good, but I did not think so because I do not like raw lettuce. The wait time was not that long and this was a very good meal. I may come back here if I am ever at Bainbridge Island again.
