It was really strange, but we’re pretty sure we were discriminated by one of the 3 servers. It was an older server named Dory(?). While waiting for a table to open up, my husband and I figured out our order so we could place it quickly. We have 2 little kids(4 and 1.5 years old), who were hungry. After being seated, Dory kept walking by looking me off. She was asking the 2 tables beside us if «everything was okay?», «do you need more water?», etc. When my husband got back from the bathroom washing up one of the kids, he confirmed she was just ignoring us. I think it happened 4 or so times. Finally we asked one of the other servers if we could order, and she said she’d ask Dory to come take our order. Then Dory took orders from 2 other tables. The other server apologized, and said she’s sure she didn’t send her to the wrong tables. Finally another woman came to take our order. During our lunch, Dory came to our table once and mumbled whether we wanted more water and walked off quickly. This was super weird for us. We have 2 kids, who were well-behaved and quiet. We didn’t bring a stroller, or make any particular requests. We saw her being quite chatty with other tables with children. My only guess is that it’s because I’m Asian. I noticed I was the only non-white person in the restaurant. However the food was great, and the other 2 servers were friendly. I’d be super curious if anyone else was ignored by the older server, and whether they can tell why.

I have never seen a poorer run restaurant than this one. After waiting 25 minutes, and seeing many other people getting seated before us, we still received no service. I will never return to this restaurant!

Had a late breakfast before a day of wine tasting. This place was great. From the coffee to the green eggs(pesto) and thick cut bacon was delicious! My friend had the biscuits And gravy… that was reason enough to eat there!

Streamliner is getting a four star because it’s been an island staple as long as I can remember. The food quality fluctuates so often that it’s hard to give it an honest review. I’ve only gone in once and been disappointed! So that’s pretty good!

What a fantastic breakfast! Sitting at the counter watching the Chef in action is amazing. This place will be my main stay for all hungover breakfasts when I wake up on Bainbridge island. Five kinds of eggs Benedict nailed it.

I hadn’t been to the Streamliner in many years — what a pleasant surprise — it was fabulous. They had a special — Hangtown Fry — which was really good(scrambled or omelette style eggs, with bacon, spinach and oysters) — yum! What impressed me(besides the food) was how all the staff were smart and helpful, and that they looked out for each other. It felt comfortable to be there, like being part of a family. I’ll be going back again soon!

Came here for an early lunch just off of the ferry. All four of us ordered breakfast and the meals were good but not spectacular. We might have gone back in the future were it not for the terrible service. Initially I thought it was because we brought our baby with us, even though she slept the whole time, but other reviewers note the same thing. I’d steer clear, Bainbridge has plenty of other options.

Small little place in downtown Bainbridge Island near the ferry terminal. Since the place is small it’s quite a bit of a wait during busy eating hours. A good selection of items on the menu. The service wasn’t great. The food was ok, felt like a typical diner. Some of the side items we ordered never came. Nothing stood out to me. Parking on the streets. The décor feature local artists’ work I believe. Pics on instagram @amanda.n_

Had breakfast here. Benedicts and hot chocolate for our party of 6, please! One thing I really enjoyed about this diner is the DIY attitude: home made hollandaise for their benedicts and homemade whipped cream for their hot chocolates. The décor is extremely cute and makes the restaurant seem very welcoming, which they are. Another star for being located conveniently close to the ferry as well as a bunch of cute shops.

I would give them a 3 for the food and a 2 or 3 for the service. The service was pretty poor. We all thought the food was fine. I got the BLTA. BLTs are my favorite sandwich and I’m always baffled when I order one out and it’s just ok. It’s such a simple sandwich and when done right it is excellent and not hard to make. The bacon was very overcooked and not in a crispy, delicious way. The servers seemed careless and not proactive. We did not have silverware, I asked for it then we waited and waited. Then I went inside to ask again. Same situation when we asked for hot sauce. When we got the bill the server acted friendly and sweet like she was suddenly concerned with getting a good tip. I would give them another chance because maybe they were having an off day but I wasn’t very impressed with my first visit.

Went for breakfast after we got off the ferry and before a canopy tree climbing adventure. Awesome breakfast, big portions, and fast and efficient service. Real food and great coffee. Awesome old school décor. Would definitely go back!

Delicious. Had the eggs Benedict, and the hollandaise was fantastic. My friend had the«have it all» omelette, and he said was very good as well. Everything tasted very fresh and well made. Very close to the Bainbridge ferry terminal.

A friend of mine recently moved to Bainbridge Island and heard that this was a good place to eat. We showed up for a late brunch-around 11:30 or so and ended up waiting an hour before we were seated. We had a lot of time to observe the staff and the flow of the restaurant and here are our observations: The staff was rude and unfriendly and reluctant to help out. The three women there were also doing all of the jobs i.e. they all poured water/coffee, they all ran checks, and they all brought food. We watched as two tables opened up and were cleaned but it took another five minutes to seat anyone else because they were all busy taking orders and filing up water glasses. They also did not bother to cross names off the list in a timely manner once people were seated. Once we were finally seated-at nearly 1:00-we had already perused the menu and decided what we wanted so we’d be ready right away. We told the waitress we were ready to order and she responded with, «well I am not ready to take your order.» She hurried away and came back and as we started ordering, she asked, albeit jokingly, if anyone had a pen and hurried away again. We are very patient people and don’t mind waiting for a good meal or even if the meal is mediocre and the service is great, we are happy campers. But with an hour wait(with our two year old), no apology for said wait, rudeness all around from all waitresses, and then a meal that was by no means a stand out meal-just your regular breakfast stuff-my omelet even lacked in cheese-I would say we were very less than pleased with our experience.

I got the steak, and it was well cooked. It came with delicious green beans and a potato dish that was also quite good. Very filling! My friend got the lamb, which was also tasty. We were visiting Bainbridge, but it does seem like a local favorite. They have outdoor seating, so my friend’s puppy was able to stay with us! It was a nice place. «I’m a fan,» but it wasn’t anything spectacular. Good service(even though they had a small mix up with our bill) and good atmosphere. I’d recommend stopping by if you’re visiting Bainbridge!

This diner is one of the first restaurants you encounter when you enter Bainbridge Island. Since we were starving getting off the boat we didn’t feel like waiting and just decided to eat here. There was a wait to get in so we had to wait about 15 minutes to get served. What I didn’t understand was that there were many spots on the counter top that they wouldn’t seat anyone at. The whole time we were waiting there were two spots open. It was frustrating to see an open seat and no one sitting there when there was a line to get seated. The service was also just ok. It took forever for us to have someone even come over to us to ask if we wanted anything other than water to drink. I feel like if you are going to be busy you might want to be a little bit better staffed. The cooks did a great job though with keeping up with the orders and make sure everyone got their food in a timely fashion. I ordered a pesto omelette with hashbrowns and a muffin. It was a huge portion and wish I had someone to split it with! It tasted good and I enjoyed it. If I wasn’t as hungry I probably would’ve looked around more and ate somewhere different just because I wasn’t fully impressed with the service.

One more time for breakfast I can’t believe it. This place is so good. Fresh homemade poppyseed lemon muffin, to die for! I had the supreme scramble this morning I posted the menu photo of all that was in it, an amazing breakfast. people of all ages in here. I just sat and met a girl from South Africa and one from Italy sitting together talking. They really enjoy their meal as well. Mine was cooked to perfection and when it was all gone! no grease on the plate. I can’t recommend this place enough. you will not be disappointed by the streamliner diner on Bainbridge Island Washington

Cute atmosphere, liked sitting outside. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The Salmon Eggs Benedict were absolutely great. I always order eggs benedict for breakfast and these were some of the best. My egg was cooked perfectly, and I mean PERFECTLY. I kept exclaiming to my boyfriend, and brunch partner in crime, that they were probably the most perfectly cooked eggs I’ve ever had. And the hollandaise, oh it was fluffy and bright and I wanted more to smother over my hash browns. Someone, please tell your chef how great they are doing!!! Only reason not 5 stars is my boyfriend ordered chorizo in his breakfast burrito but it looked more like some strange hamburger meat. Other than that, would definitely return next time I’m in Bainbridge. Thank you for a great meal!

My mom and I Just ate here and I already need to let the Unilocal community know how great this spot is! We are visiting Bain bridge island for the day. We found about this restaurant from a local who we happened to m in the street(thanks Chris for your wonderful recommendation)! What an amazing breakfast! There was already a line out the door on a Monday at 9:30am… Yes, a Monday(either people don’t work on this island or this place is really that amazing — or both)! Luckily, there was a table only for two people available and we didn’t have to wait. As we weren’t too hungry, we decided to split the smoked salmon omelette and thank god we did because the portion was huge! The omelette was so yummy and the amount of smoked salmon that it has was beyond generous. I loved the herb cream cheese that it came with! I suggest not getting sour cream on top because there’s already enough cream cheese inside. The omelette came with hash browns and an amazing homemade biscuit. Make sure to ask for both the strawberry and raspberry jam! Service was beyond 5 stars. The hostess(who might actually be owner), was super friendly and you can tell she really loves what she does. The wait staff was also awesome — very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant!

There are two things that surprises me about Streamliner Diner: 1. How mediocre their breakfast is. 2. Nobody has yet mentioned how amazing dinners are at Streamliner. Its interesting to see how different breakfast and dinner is at this place. Breakfast is usually busy, packed and has a diner feel while the dinner service has a laid back yet intimate vibe. As I already mentioned, I had breakfast here once and I thought it was medicocre. I ordered their A.B.C.L.T.(Avocado, Bacon, Garlic Cream Cheese & Tomato on Whole Wheat). I think it could have been better without the garlic cream cheese since it overwhelmed the sandwich and honestly, I could have just made this at home. I also sampled their omelettes and waffles, both are ok but I definitely had better at other breakfast spots. If anything, I have dined at Streamline Diner several times and I have always been impressed with everything I’ve tried so far. I usually go for their pasta dishes since their pasta is so good. So far, my favorite pasta dish has to be the linguini with clams, prawns and halibut in a saffron seafood brodo. This dish definitely did not skimp on the seafood either! It was a good thing I had a small portion or else it would have been too much food. I also like their clams which are done just nicely. The menu does change often and I always look forward to new dinner items. The Streamliner is a great place to grab dinner, especially if you are looking for decent pasta entrees.
