I absolutely love .99 stores and 1.00 stores but you have to be selective. I was on the hunt for some cheap foam plates for my crafts and no I will go to Walmart. They wanted .99 for 22 plates. Really that’s one of those not to buy items here. But they did have some really nice produce which I was surprised. Artichokes that were quite large and some nice size containers of blueberries. Score. Here their card selection, which was another reason for my trip is yet to be desired. Their cards are .99 as the Dollar Tree they are 2 for 1.00 and they have a much larger selection and nicer cards so in my opinion skip this place for card options. I did notice they had Helman’s mayonnaise lite which is Best Foods, Helman’s is East Coast. If I did lite mayo I would of bought it all Best Foods for .99 that’s a steal. Otherwise it’s your normal.99 store just a little smaller than most since it took over that Fresh and Easy that never opened.

Lotsa Lotsa Brand name Items here this store. But today is just a lookie see. But this is the $$$ Riche side of town. Not what poor me use too. All 99 fans should least shop here once… for the Grand«Cheap» Experience. The New Bite Size Chinese Almond Cookies are Heavenly, Fluffy. Almond bits galore. So so Tasty. Im not giving this 995 Unilocal Stars. Because its square footage is 10,000 sq ft or less. Theres 99 around with 26,000 sq ft. Also this store seems not to have items at other 99. Unilocal type Peoples gives 995 Unilocal stars. But many Unilocal gives Haggen Grocery 1 or 2 stars inspite it many many quality items. Like meats and seafoods on par, better than Costco, Harris Ranch. Its a Crazy World

I’ve been here several times since it was converted from the Fresh & Easy that never was to a 99 Cents Only store, and I have pleasantly surprised at the variety of items this store carries, most of them at 99 cents, though some of them are a little more expensive. Walking up to the front door my attention is drawn to the bright purple shopping carts with green accents. My favorite color is purple, I even rocked purple hair for two years, but these carts are a bit of an assault on the senses. Whatever… I’m immediately distracted by the large window signs advertising brand name candy in 6-packs of minis, m&ms, Almond Joy, Twix, Snickers, Milky Way, and 100 Grand bars. Yes, please! Just to your left as you walk in is a freezer full of ice cream treats. This is my kind of discount store. I want bargains but I do have a lot of national brands I prefer and don’t like to settle for generic versions of. This store looks like it’s about to deliver exactly that. Their grocery section includes some items that are more than $ 1 such as eggs, milk, and butter. Their produce appear to be pretty fresh, though the only things I’ve purchased from this department are the avocados and the pomegranates(both $ 0.99). What was surprising to me on this visit was the number of alternatives they carry for people with food allergies. They have chocolate pudding made with soy milk, yogurt made with cultured coconut milk, cashew milk(both regular and chocolate) just to highlight a few dairy alternatives. In the frozen section they had gluten free french toast sticks and gluten free sweet potato nuggets. I was here this day because my neighbor told me they had a good selection of Progresso soups(my favorite) for only $ 0.99. They’re usually over $ 2 at Vons and albertsons so that was a pretty good deal. There were a number of healthy food options on the shelves here like coconut water, coconut milk, and Bear Naked granola, but let’s be honest. The REAL excitement is in the candy section full of brand names like Blow Pops, Red Vines tootsie pops, tootsie rolls, York peppermint patties, Butterfingers, KitKats, Baby Ruth, Ghirardelli, and Mike & Ikes. They have a decent selection of greeting cards for $ 1 each, perfect for that last minute occasion. They also have a pretty decent selection of colorful gift bags, wrapping paper, even bows perfect for gift giving. Throwing a party? They have paper and plastic goods to set you up right, including some children’ themed goods such as minions. If you’re furnishing a dorm room(or your first apartment, you can purchase dishes, bowls, mugs, glassware, everything you need to eat cheaply but environmentally consciously(though if you’re not so green you can also get a generous supply of paper and styrofoam plates and plastic cups, too). You can buy kitchen gadgets and cleansers to keep said apartment neat and tidy, too. Their toy department carries full sized puzzles(500 piece), something I’ve never seen at a dollar store before(and I frequent them pretty often). They have dress up clothes for little girls. I found myself jealous that they didn’t carry angel wings and tutus in MY size. Hmph!!! They have a small section with baby items, a section with pet items, even a small gardening and electronics sections. I found brightly colored iPhone USB cords for $ 0.99 each and the USB chargers for $ 1.99. I bought 3 of each as I’m always losing the charger cords and they cost $ 15.00 to purchase elsewhere, often without the charger box. Best of all, there are refrigerated cases up near the registers full of cold plastic bottles of soda for only $ 0.99(these same sodas are $ 1.79 at regular grocery stores). Who has two thumbs and saves a LOT of money at the 99 Cent Only Store? THISGIRL!!!

Surprised about how much stuff they have here that I need! Went in just looking for some picture frames but came back twice today for different things like olives, water, jars… And then back for more frames and pasta sauce. This 98 cents store seems better stocked than other 99 cents stores I’ve been too, and the folks that work here are super helpful. Parking is easy. Tucked behind McDonald’s in a nice NW neighborhood.
