It is a nice little restaurant with a friendly staff. The food is pretty well priced and they have good portion sizes.

Came in after 9pm(they close at 10), the place was already cleared out. But the staff was very welcoming. We ordered the popcorn lobster roll, the Las Vegas roll, the Tower roll, and edamame. I’m honestly not a fan of cream cheese in rolls so the Las Vegas roll already wasn’t for me, but my friend enjoyed. The popcorn lobster and the Tower Rolls on the other hand are definitely new favorites! They were both very tasty. We were also given complimentary miso soup while we awaited our order as we listened to k-pop playing in the background. Like I said we didn’t come in til a little after 9 and we didn’t finish til some time after 10. Even though they closed by 10, the staff didn’t feel impatient to get us out — no rush and very polite. Based on the service alone I’ll definitely be coming back to try out the rest of the menu.

Oh Sushi Time… Hmmm where do I begin. I ordered lunch to go today and needless to say, I had high expectations. Mostly due to previous reviews, I assumed it would be quite tasty and although it was ok, it isn’t my favorite sushi place in town. I ordered a hand roll and a house salad to go, so perhaps that was where I first started off wrong? The hand roll was okay, very simplistic, heavy in veggies and lacking in any sort of tuna or fish. It was mostly rice, a small piece of tempura, and very very little tuna. My house salad was browning and not crisp. The salad was decent when it was drenched in sauce, however baby spring mix and salad dressing was all that was included. No carrots… no «oomph» to step up the game of their dishes. For nearly $ 12 bucks, I was better off spending that on another sushi place where the food is decent and gives more to the palate. I’ll re-review when I try it during a dinner service and not to go. Fingers crossed.

Got the teriyaki chicken lunch combination. Came with miso soup, salad, tempura shrimp and tempura vegetables. Got served pretty quickly. Friendly staff and I couldn’t get my free gyoza but the lady put a gyoza and shumai sample for free.

Admittedly, I am not a fan of sushi. My wife is so that is why we often go to sushi restaurants. First thing I look for on the menu are bento boxes or teriyaki dishes. Fortunately, Sushi Time has teriyaki choices. Make sure to check-in when you are here. They give one Gyoza appetizer per table for checking in on Unilocal. This appetizer includes 5 pieces of Gyoza which do taste good! My Chicken Teriyaki meal was very filling and satisfying. Would not hesitate to order it again in the future.(4 stars) My wife has been happy with all the various kinds of sushi that she has eaten here during several visits. She told me that she does not have a favorite to recommend at this time. She gives 4 stars for the sushi Service was attentive and helpful during my stay here. Nice atmosphere. No complaints from me. I may not be a sushi fan, but I see myself returning to Sushi Time with my wife more often.

Last wednesday I was craving for Japanese food. Did not feel like wanting to go regular spots we’ve patronize in the past. I wanted to try a new restaurant but did not want to drive far. After checking out several Unilocal reviews I settled to try out Sushi Time, a 10 minute drive from home. It is located behind McDonalds on the northwest corner of Coffee and Hageman. I did not pay attention to the address and wound up driving to Sushi Ko. Had to call to find the spot. After getting there, right away I made a comment to my son — parking is going to be an issue for this restaurant to be popular. We are seated. While the parking lot was full, but only 4 tables were occupied barely 10% of occupancy. The other cars in the parking lot were for the other businesses. Let’s get to the food and service. My son ordered the crunch shrimp roll and spider roll. I had the chicken teriyaki combination with vegetable and shrimp tempura. We had barely finished our miso soup and our entrees were brought to us. My son really liked the rolls he ordered. My combo came in on a really huge plate. The tempura was warm and stayed warm through dinner. The batter did not break when it was immersed in the tempura sauce. The shrimp and vegetables tasted fresh, somewhat crunchy but not excessive. The chicken portion was generous with the sauce just right. Overall, it was an extremely fine dining experience. Service was top notch. While dining, only another couple came in for dinner. My hope is that more folks discover this restaurant. My concern is the parking lot. It is small. While additional parking is available on the west side of the restaurant, it was not as well lighted.

Fantastic food! I ordered salmon teriyaki for dinner while the husband ordered some sushi and handrolls. They were all awesome. Owner is very friendly too! We will be back for sure!

Happy roll, Happy roll… Where do I start? The beauty, favor or crunch. The roll had a mixture a raw fishes, delicious sweet glaze & was covered with a delicious crunch that made the roll into an falling favor bomb in your mouth. It is a little messy but oh so great. Lol I fell in love with it. Dinner was delicious. The Gyoza appetizer was also tasty. So juicy & flavor filled. Had never had either these dishes before. I am the duchess. This place is the best in town. Also, I have to add the staff is always very nice and helpful. I love the owner I say she’s my best friend, to no one but my boyfriend lol. We love coming here on all occasions, even pick up ! Enjoy because we do.

I came here for lunch and sat at the bar. It was quiet and the service was friendly. Ordered the: (1) Salmon teriyaki lunch bento box; the salmon was a good size, and tastes great. Ate all the items on the plate. (2) Spider roll; ordered this to go and it was tasty as well. I like the texture of the crab inside (3) Gyoza(free w/check-in); if you use Unilocal, you can get some free gyoza appetizers just by dining here and checking in. They were tasty; I think they came straight from a frozen bag and they fried it in the back, since the gyozas were all the same size and texture. :) still tastes good though. Had a good meal here and some place you can consider for lunch as it’s not super busy and service was prompt!

I’ve been kinda dying to try out Sushi Time for quite a while now and so When the hubby told me his afternoon schedule had suddenly kinda cleared up and I had a spare hour or so on my calendar I decided a sneaky lunch was in order! We arrived around 1130 and the place was already decently patronized. A quick order of edamame and miso soup gave us plenty of time to ponder which of the 44 specialty rolls they had on the menu we felt like today. In the end we decided on the Calamari Tempura Roll, Mamacita Roll and a third roll that had a mix of sashimi, yes we didn’t read the Unilocal reviews in detail before ordering and so no, we didn’t realize the servings here are generous. We ended up with WAY too much food but it was all so delicious neither of us was too upset. My favorite was the one I can’t remember the name of, typical me, the hubby’s favorite was the Mamacita although he was kinda impressed by the large pieces of calamari tempura on top of the calamari roll and so it was a very close second for him! Not the cheapest lunch, but that was probably our fault as we did seriously over order! The rolls seemed to run between $ 9 – 12 which is was what I generally would expect to pay BUT servings were overly generous so some definite value for money! Will definitely be back!

So I will start with a disclaimer that I’m not a ramen expert, but I can tell you I wasn’t a fan of theirs. It was too fishy for my taste. However, the sushi was really good. The rolls were cut bigger than I like, but I can deal with that. They also have a Unilocal check in special that rewards you with some awesome food.

Second time to go to this business. The first time there were some hiccups, but we plowed through. This time, much different. We had the Unilocal free appetizer and it was fine. We ordered fresh oysters on the half shell to start and they were definitely not fresh. There were 2 on the plate, but the server told us there were 4 to 5. Oh well, I love oysters so I dove in. I then wanted to dive right back out. Oysters should be sweet if they are fresh. These were very bitter meaning they were not fresh. I remember thinking I hope I don’t get sick from eating them. So after thinking I might have poisoned myself, I figured I might as well die on a full stomach. We ordered our meal and were informed that it came with miso soup or salad. A salad came but the miso soup never did. Nice. Sushi shows up and we notice that there is no dipping bowls, soy sauce, or anything like that on the table. We had to wait until we could get the server’s attention to get some. Then we notice there is no wasabi or ginger, Back to the server again for basic stuff that should have come with the food. This place has the feel of a family operation but the kids are serving and don’t know what they are doing. Mom or Dad need to get out on the floor and direct traffic. We must have had every different kid working in there come to our table for one thing or another. They didn’t communicate or follow up with each other. This caused us to have to beg for the stuff we needed in order to have a pleasant meal. I would love for the management to properly train their servers and assign each server a specific section of tables. In this way, only one person takes orders and provides service. The free for all in this place made me wonder what is happening behind the scenes. The hand roll I ordered was fantastic! The sushi rolls were pretty above average too. If it were just the food I would have given 4 or 5 stars, but dining out is also about the dining experience and this crew of servers made it a very challenging event. I don’t see this place staying in business very long unless they fix the front end of the business. If they can get organized and pay attention to what they are doing, I foresee many years of success for them. I don’t think I’ll bother going back for about a year. If they are still in business, I’ll try them again and revise this review accordingly.

Great service! Check in for a free gyoza appetizer. I like this place as much as I like Hi Sushi. Their food is consistently good. Kanpai still has better sashimi, but this place has delicious sashimi too. I’ve tried most of the rolls already and liked them all. Took my niece here and she loved the Mamacita Roll(spicy crab & tuna w/jalapeño). The rolls are huge– one is probably enough for two people. I also got the bulgogi for lunch and it came with rice, miso soup and salad. Very good! will come back.

Came here for lunch with the hubby. He ordered two rolls and loved them. He ate them both but wished he had only got one. At other sushi places he usually gets two but these were quite huge. I ordered bulgogi and enjoyed it. Very good flavor and tender meat. I loved the sides that came with it. Would definitely come back again.

Finally got around to trying this place today for lunch. Inside is nice, open, fresh, and light feeling. Service was just right, perfect amount of service without being neglected at any time. At the end of the meal the check was brought and processed promptly(something I appreciate during lunch). Now the food. Is this place really a 4.5 stars? I would have to say absolutely YES! IMHO they served me today with the best yellowtail sushi in town. It was fresh, soft, and melted in my mouth like butter. Tried the gyoza, cucumber salad, and 2 «fancy» rolls. All of which were great. The yellowtail was also good on my roll. Based upon this first experience, I cant wait to go back to try some other items and this quite possibly be my new favorite sushi place. **After I checked in on Unilocal there was a free appetizer coupon. The waitress noticed this and asked if I wanted to use it for the gyoza and I said sure, she said she would take it off the bill, but after paying it was discovered she did not apply the coupon and I had marked the coupon to be used so I missed out. This is the only negative thing I could say about this place.

DELICIOUS! One of the better places in Bakersfield with good food, good atmosphere, and good service! My party and I ordered a good amount of rolls as well as the mushroom boats. I was not a fan of the mushroom boats, but there was not a roll that did not disappoint me! I really LOVE the rolls with salmon in them, and just out of personal taste– I am not quite fond of the baked roll that we got(I believe it was something along the line of « — -‘s favorite»). Just a note: the food is more American than Japanese in my opinion. A lot of the flavor profiles are inherently Western, with the sweet or savory sauces and all the pinaz. If you are looking for an authentically Japanese place, this is not the place to go. Despite this note, I really enjoyed my time at Sushi Time and will be coming back in the future! ^^

The place is still relatively new, the parking lot is small and cramped but the food was good! The popcorn lobster roll was flavorful, pieces of fried lobster over a cali roll. the white dragon was also really yummy. a free appetizer of your choice with a Unilocal check in and our waiter forgot about our appetizer until the end when we were going to leave. the baked mussels seemed overcooked. I do love the salad dressing that they use for their free house salad and soup. It complimentary, so you pick one. I inquired about the salad dressing and the waiter was saying they’re thinking of selling them because they make it in-house. Overall, i’d be back it was a good experience, cheap and yummy!

I’m a huge Love Sushi fan, but over the years, they have become busier and less service-oriented. Time to find a new sushi joint! I came here with my 3.5-year-old and met up with a friend. We were the only ones in the dining area for quite awhile. We immediately got drinks, and were offered a free miso soup or house salad as a starter! The menu was varied and easily readable. So many options! I settled on the tempura California roll and my friend got tempura udon soup. Both were very flavourful and came out quickly. About halfway through our meal, a waiter offered us a free salmon roll sample! My friend loved it; I’m not a big salmon fan so I let her have it. I’ll definitely be coming back here! This might just be my new favourite place.
