Really great take home sushi place! We have been there many times and they have never disappointed us. We like being able to order online and then go pick it up too.

I would have never considered drive-thru sushi a good idea until I tried this place. I was in a hurry and hungry and thought, «Why not?» I’m glad that I did. I love that I can order online from their website(which appears to be mobile-friendly to me.) I love that I can call and speak with a real live human on the phone if I need to. The food is made fresh and is very convenient for my office. I even tried their hamburger recently and I have to say, that was pretty good, too. The only thing that ever disappoints me is their tempura vegetables and vegetable fries. I expect crispier than what I’ve been served when I order this kind of item. I think part of the problem is that the food sits in the Styrofoam containers and sweats while you wait to eat it. Anyway, if you’re in Northwest Bakersfield, and in a hurry, but want sushi, give this place a shot.

Didn’t feel like cooking dinner today so I decided to stop by… I was stoked when my husband told me this was a drive thru sushi spot. I have seen quite a few of my Unilocal friends check in here frequently so I figured this place must be good. I ordered the CA roll and the baked salmon roll and if you can make a good CA roll then the rest of your menu must be good. The CA roll had great flavor and they gave a huge roll. If you pay attention to the picture it’s not your typical roll that fits exactly either vertical or horizontal in the togo container it actually curves. The salmon roll was amazing!!! I was very impressed w this roll since we went to a drive thru window. The Gyoza was just okay… The sauce that comes w it was a little too salty for my taste, but that definitely won’t prevent me from coming back as the baked salmon roll was excellent! I was pretty impressed w how busy this drive-thru was since HISUSHI is just a few feet over. This place must taste delicious since there was quite a few people in line. If you’re in a rush they have online ordering and they must confirm w a call back and if they don’t call you back that means they have not received your order. If you love sushi but don’t feel like dining in then this is the spot!!!

Rolls are decent for a drive thru sushi place. Takes a while, but is to be expected for sushi. You can order online so the wait is not as long. Our last experience, however, was not so good so we wont be returning. We ordered online and never got a confirmation call or anything and after about 20 minutes we attempted to call multiple times and no one ever picked up. Ended up at Sushi Time down the street instead.

Got Miso soup, edamame, and a ginger salad. There was a small rock in my salad! That hurt. Will stick to the soup from now on and never order anything else. Drive through sushi was probably a bad idea. Just sayin.

Love this place! Pick up food here all the time. Customer service is above and beyond expected. This time employees went out of their way to cook my sushi since I’m pregnant. The drive through is super convenient and the only drive through sushi place I know of. Prices are reasonable and the food is always good.

Ordered the baked salmon roll, tempura Philadelphia roll, and Las Vegas roll. Very very good. They make it fresh to go I figure Bc I waited like 10 – 15 minutes for it. Would recommend it.

I do like the convenience of the drive through but it’s ruined by the fact that we had to wait 40 minutes to get our food. Hopefully they had an off night or maybe short staffed.

I’ve driven past this place a million times so I guess it was time to try it. SO good! SO convenient! Placed my order and had my roll within minutes. Handmade and fresh. I ordered the Spicy Rainbow Roll, and 2 orders of Salmon Nigiri. The Rainbow Roll came with a sauce you’re supposed to pour over the roll, similar to Love Sushi’s sauce but more potent. It cleared up my sinuses that’s forsure. So happy knowing I have a drive thru sushi joint so close to my house, that’s affordable, and delicious!

Best Japanese Cuisine in Bakersfield! We always passed this little place in Northwest Bakersfield & decided to try it on a whim & we were pleasantly surprised how great the food & service was. Today for lunch, we ordered 2 of the Katsu chicken breast platters @$ 7.89 each. This plate comes with panko fried chicken breast, steamed rice, gyoza, eggroll, & a small salad with the best damm salad dressing I’ve ever had! They have an array of sushi rolls that look good but sushi and I have a complicated relationship so we stick to the cooked cuisine instead(but they look great). Their bbq sauce for the chicken is fabulous as well. MUSTTRYTHISPLACE, SHOULDBEMORECROWDED!

The last few years, I have driven right by Mimotto several times a week. Had never stopped in until a few months ago. Never thought that a drive thru sushi place would taste good or succeed. I have never seen a place like theirs anywhere in our travels. Thanks to our fellow Unilocaler Lulu H., we finally gave Mimotto a try. She convinced my wife that this spot was worth checking out. As always, Lulu H. was right! So far all of the food we have ordered here has been good. My wife’s favorite sushi roll is the Baked Salmon Roll. It is priceless to watch her devour that roll! We both enjoy their Calamari, except for one time when it may have been a different cook. The tender strips of squid are wrapped in tempura batter. Yummyness! Currently, Chicken Katsu Bento and Volcano Chicken are my favorites entrees. Service has always been helpful and friendly. There are a few tables set up outside, if you want to eat there. We always take our orders home to enjoy. The longest that we have waited in the drive-thru is about 20 minutes when there were 3 vehicles ahead of us. If you do not want to wait, then you can call in your order and pick it up at the first window. Pricing is very reasonable especially when you compare them to the traditional«sit down» sushi restaurants. Drive-Thru Sushi! Mimotto makes it work! See for yourself. Maybe you will like them too.

Friendly staff, fast service and great food! Don’t let the fact that it is drive-thru Sushi scare you off, because you’d be missing out. Miso soup comes in to go coffee cup for easy carry and great insulation. This place is a hidden gem. I always enjoy the vampire, Philadelphia roll and oh my god roll. White submarine is also a good one! Give this place a try and you’ll be glad :)!

Ordered a baked salmon roll to-go and picked it up in 15 minutes. Tastes spicy & flavorful… Costs $ 9.13 with taxes. Huge portion, enough to serve as a meal!

It was a long wait, which is understandable for sushi, but that’s not the reason for the 1 star. That’s because the sushi was gross. I got albacore, tuna, salmon, and eel nigiri/sushi and all of it tasted like fake fish. The salmon had a strange fishy taste, the tuna had no taste, the albacore was dry, and the eel was the best of the worst. I am no sushi connoisseur as I love all kinds regardless if it’s supermarket or 5 star restaurant sushi. That’s why I was surprised at how much I disliked it. Not only was the fish boring or gross, the rice was triple the size of the fish. The rice ball was huge and tasteless… some of the fish didn’t even cover the rice, the fish looked mangled as if someone didn’t know how to cut it. Maybe I just had a bad experience, but I feel if I get bad nigiri/sushi, then the rest won’t be good either. My dogs enjoyed it at least… sort of… even they didn’t really like the rice. It was too dry.

Drive thru sushi? What a concept. Take your time and peruse the Mimotto menu on-line at mimotto.com[wellbeing Japanese cuisine]. Want to see pictures? Unilocal has pictures galore of those tasty morsels. We ordered appetizer calamari tempura. The tempura battered calamari was cooked to perfection. No, they were not overcooked to chewy rubber bands. They were nice and tender the way calamari should be cooked. $ 4.89. Exotic maki baked salmon roll sushi had a slightly sweet but spicy mayonnaise sauce accented with chopped green onions. That dish was one of our favorites. $ 8.49. Teriyaki chicken bowl had just the right amount of sauce without being overly sweet like some sauces could be. The chicken chunks were served over steamed white rice. $ 5.89. Would we come back to Mimotto? Yes, we want to try other items on their menu. I am confident whatever we order the next time would be as good as our first visit. If you order on-line, they give you a call to confirm your order and tell you when your order would be ready. However, if you prefer to order on premise there might be a wait and it’s understandable because everything is freshly made. We will be back to Mimotto.

WOW! I just inhaled what was supposed to be lunch AND dinner with barely stopping to breathe! The salmon and yellow tail sushi, particularly the salmon sushi is just heaven! The pieces are large, and very fresh! And because I got to eat this in the privacy of my home, there was no one here to stop and stare … I am always surprised at how reasonable the prices are; cheaper than what you can get in a grocery store, but much fresher and bigger pieces. I order enough for three and the price is twenty something… Note there is a minimum order when ordering sushi(as opposed to rolls). Good excuse to order a lot. But be sure to clarify. I wanted 6 individual pieces of salmon sushi, but the lady thought I meant 6ORDERS of salmon sushi.(6 pieces of yellowtail sushi, 6 pieces of salmon sushi and a calamari appetizer is only $ 25 bucks!) A happy mistake … I just love sushi and probably have it 2 or 3 times a week. I normally would go to Sushi Time, Sushi Ko or Sushi Moon but If in a rush will happily drive thru here. The bento boxes are good if you like variety… or something hot and savory to balance out the sushi. For about 8 bucks you can get a teriyaki ribeye /chicken combo that comes with a potsticker, egg roll, salad and either white or fried rice. Great deal! The first time I came here, I was not expecting much for a drive thru place, figuring the sushi would be similar to what you get in grocery stores. Cold snd stale. But it was so darn good! The sushi rolls were Very, very fresh and moist. The sushi rice was good, as well as their wasabi. They are generous with the wasabi which makes me happy. It wasn’t dry like a lot of grocery stores. There is a bit of a wait, maybe a bit longer than Maui Phở — but no complaining here. With a bit of planning one can make good use of that time to check your emails and Facebook, edit yur Unilocal review, clean out your wallet. Its worth it. I guess the option would be to pre-make the sushi and rolls so that it would be quicker, but having it taste so fresh is wayyyy preferable. The young ladies at the window are very helpful. They don’t have no rice rolls unfortunately nor side of veggie options but you can’t expect everything… They are now open on Sunday’s!!!

I felt a bit weary of this place. Drive-thru sushi? This sounds like a stomach nightmare, if I’m being honest. My reservations about it are what kept me from trying this place. I’m kind of kicking myself for it. I can admit when I’m wrong. As a disclaimer, I am giving them five stars based on what they are: drive thru sushi. Is this on par with Miyoshi? No, of course not. You’re going to get a better experience eating at a restaurant with atmosphere and a vodka tonic. .but this place? They’re solid. They’ve got really fantastic EVERYTHING. I’ve had the Mimotto roll(aces), the spicy tuna roll(yes hello, I could eat this every day), the tiger roll(A+++), the Philadelphia roll(YUM), and the Playboy roll. It pays off when you get rolls with friends and sample a bit of it all, and this has happened over the course of my three visits to Mimotto. Everything is worth the wait. It’s never TOO terribly long, either. Their selection is awesome, service is so great, and the product is fantastic. You know what’s even better? Everything is packed up nicely for you to take it to the park with your pals and make your afternoon into a sushi picnic. Everybody is happy. Believe it or not, I never once missed my sushi-standard vodka tonic. Keep it up, Mimotto. :)
