I went to a Paint Nite here at the Bull Shed and was meeting a couple other people a little earlier than the event started so we could get a bite to eat. We weren’t greeted at all when we entered and just found a seat ourselves. Once seated, we waited for about 15 minutes for someone to come by even though it didn’t seem like they were very busy. I finally went up to the bar and asked for some menus and if we needed to order at the bar. The guy working apologized, got us menus, and said he would come by and get our order. We decided to order appetizers and drinks. The bartender and the guy helping her seemed to be working very hard, but were having trouble keeping up with the crowd(as it started to increase because of the paint nite event). It took a while to get our drinks and the nachos we ordered were okay, but the chips were a little stale. The guys really tried to help us the best he could, but they really needed more help. During the paint nite, he was also the one who was checking on the whole group taking our drink orders. He really worked hard that night. Even though the even happened on a Sunday evening, just figured that they would of had more help considering that this paint nite event was pre-planned. It also looked like they were having a holiday party in the back room at the same time which would account for the short staff and long waits for food and drinks.

Service was terrible. Waited almost 15 minutes for a beer. Then it wasn’t even cold And how can you run out of large glasses

I was looking for a steak place in Bakersfield for the weekend. And, the reviews I saw were good, and moderately priced. The steaks were great(we ordered the ribeye). Our server was a nice young lady, who brought all the stuff we wanted. The drinks were okay, not overpoured, but okay.(then too, I’m used to drinking at my little local place in Glendale). Oh, and the apple tart dessert — YUMMY — it took a while to come out of the kitchen, but it was WELL Worth the wait. So, it was a good evening, then off to the Crystal Palace.

We were staying nearby for the drag races and decided to check this place out. Our bartender was super friendly and she made our mixed drinks perfect. Country music was playing but at a nice level not obnoxiously loud. We planned on eating dinner but ran out of time and just had the potato skin appetizers. The skins were AWESOME! I had no problems with any locals, everything was in control. We definitely dig this place and will be back when we’re in town for the races again!

Very friendly people and it has a nice country atmosphere, if that’s what you like. I’m sure they are much more known for the bar because the food is very iffy. I ordered a pasta with meatballs, when it arrived it looked amazing, however the sauce tasted like nothing and the bread was something I could make at home. At least the meatballs were good.

Decided to go to the Bull Shed for dinner due to location. Saturday night around 6pm and the place was dead. Our waitress approached out table 4 times(maybe out of boredom?) and acted like it was a huge inconvenience that we had not decided on what to order yet. Honestly nothing looked appetizing enough to order. The few entrée salads offered are served in a bread bowl(what?). We decided on the hot wings for an appetizer and they were fairly good. I ordered the calzone for my meal and it was terrible! Cheap products used, pizza sauce served on the side instead of being in the calzone itself. I had a few bites and decided it was not worth the calories. Dinner tab for 1 appetizer, 3 meals and 2 beers was $ 80. Never again!

If you’re going here to just drink then this place is typically like anywhere else. We went for girls night and got there about 8pm. We decided to order sampler plates about 10 minutes before they stopped taking orders and they told us they would find us out on the patio when the orders were ready. 30 minutes later my friend had to go to the bar to see where the food was at and the bar tender told her they weren’t ready and after a few words exchanged went to the back and came back with two large platters of our order which she then just handed to my friend to carry herself outside! I saw regular patrons holding the door open for her to get outside. The food looked good and we dug in and it was cold. Wasn’t even worth going up to get them to fix it because we were starving. Not the best place to go for good service but it’s fine if you’re going to go and just drink.

Walked in… People are swearing at the top of their lungs, then one drunk guy screams America… Another guy says we should get our confederate flags back up the pole… I see a security guard, figure he’ll take care of things, 10 minutes later he’s demonstrating his Taser, and the guy asked to go outside and be tased. There’s a painting class going on next door, in a room right next to to the front of the restaurant, with children in it. They get a front row seat to a guy getting voluntarily tased… I’d like to pay for my meal, but the bartenders out watching the person getting tased. I ask the waitress if they normally taste people here… She replies, «just depends how drunk people get.» Like this is an everyday dining experience. Scariest visit to a restaurant ever… Maybe all the people that want to be tased, will show up here. Oh… The pizza was OK… The crust was soggy and undercooked

Very unprofessional. Have stopped in for a drink due to it’s location only. Bartenders regularly drink on the job including security personnel. Prices are steep and servers try to avoid giving you an itemized receipt by immediately throwing it away when it’s printed from the computer. It’s as if prices vary by the night and I’m just referring to domestic beer let alone liquor. The bar does have an excellent patio with a cash bar on busy nights. There is also a mechanical bull located on the patio.

It was unbearably hot inside. When you dine out in Bakersfield in the summertime you expect it to be nicely air conditioned. The sampler appetizer platter was passable bar food. The flatbread pepperoni pizza was nice, but we were sweating while we ate it. We even had to ask for ice water.

The Rose dale Hotel seems nice, though I did not stay in a room. There is a large pool and a 8×8 foot hot tub. There is also green grass, and trees in the courtyard which is about 90×50 yards. The bull shed itself has a meeting room with seating and tables for around 70 people. The bar and restaurant has seating for 70 additional people plus bar seating for 16. The menu seems diverse enough but it all qualifies as bar food(wings, burgers, steak etc…)There are 2 pool tables and 4 TVs. The negatives were the beat up restrooms, although they were not disgusting, they were damaged. The bar was wooden and sticky but the bar waitress was good and pleasant. The manager was helpful and overall this is a good venue for a reunion of under 200 people.

Gutes, leckeres Essen(gutes Steak) zu moderaten Preisen. Das Restaurant liegt zwar direkt am Freeway, was aber durch die Musik nicht stört — hat was ;-) Bedienung war nett und aufmerksam!

I’m not sure why my original review was removed. The review was not slander or made in attempt to hurt the business. People should know company the policies and trouble with service. So I’m re-posting it!!! If you have a problem with the people speaking the truth perhaps you shouldn’t treat customers the way mentioned below. Please don’t try to remove my post again. I will continue to post this. Issues with service and policy on bike night. I went to your establishment on bike night with my girlfriend we went inside to get a drink waited in line for the bartender to get a drink. The bartender helped several people before we were next. I walked up and she had already pulled a beer for a gentleman that was behind me in line. I said excuse me I was next. The guy said I didn’t even ask for the beer and she had it. The man was a veteran and I appreciate his service regardless but he was wearing a cut. However the bartender does not know my background and doesn’t know that I could have been in the military. I was not wearing a cut like the person she served before me. She should not have served him until after me. I was slightly offended at the bartender not the veteran and went outside for a drink instead. Then I was charged 14 dollars for a beer and a shot of jack. It seemed to be really high priced for bad service. On another note several people are wearing cuts in the establishment which kind of doesn’t seem right if it says no colors military, cops or religious groups should not be entitled. I will not attend again thanks!

The food and drinks aren’t bad, but unfortunately the service is. It took a long time to even be acknowledged and then had a rude/unprofessional waitress. Drink orders were wrong, didn’t take orders from everyone at the table, food took a long time, check was incorrect, etc. etc. The waitress did apologize for«all of the mistakes,» but it was nonetheless a disappointing experience. Most likely somewhere I will not return to.

My bartender was Jamie and she was extremely rude at the beginning, but once i asked to speak to the manager she apologized and offered to give us free drinks so we wouldn’t talk to the manager. So we ended up getting free drinks all night… I went to this location a few months back but i just got around to writing my review and saying«Thank you Jamie»

8pm, 4−8−15. We ordered the TriTip sandwich to split. The food was very good. The only complaints I have: restaurant was reaking from cigarette smoke although I never saw anyone smoking. Our server, Jessica never once came back to ask if everything was OK or needed anything. We never had a set of eating utensils. She passed by many times but was probably more in to serving the large group that was there. When she brought the bill, she then asked if we needed anything or a drink refill. She was a day late and a dollar short. Bill was $ 18.28, dropped a twenty and left. Not worth going back in my opinion.

This place is awesome! Great prices on drinks! The bar tenders are cute and super friendly… Gets busy though so be patient! The bull is fun to ride and watch even though it costs … Tvs and karaōke! It was much better than expected! Down to earth and super chill!

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. I had a calzone the first night I was there and a burger the second night and both were excellent. The service was okay.

Mediocre food, average service, great scenery! Recommend after 6, Friday’s… For drinks, eat before you come. Had a cheese burger, nothing to write home about.

After several years, I still enjoy coming here. Food good. Service great. Atmosphere, super redneck fun. If you’re a road warrior like me, and don’t go to bed at 9pm, you’ll enjoy the Bull Shed. I hate karaōke but even on karaōke night, I have a great time. Personal gripe to owners: The place is called the Bull Shed. It should have steaks and burgers as it’s strong suit. The new menu, which is a jumbled mess, features calzones and flat bread pizza. The food is good, but figure out what you’re trying to do with this place, and proceed accordingly. I miss the big, cowboy style, burgers they used to serve. So much of what a customer experiences is based on expectations and how well the establishment meets or exceeds them. I would be disappointed if I got off the freeway to eat at the Bull Shed and ended up ordering a sausage & peppers sandwich.
