Closed down. Renamed to Cielo9 bar and lounge. Plays good music and has good ambiance. Drinks are decently priced.

Went there for saint Patrick’s day and the alcohol was over priced and WEAK! They had people smoking inside which I thought was illegal.

This place was rather disappointing. The doorman was polite, but had to pat down all the males while letting females in without any search. Is there any security benefit to doing that? Are they operating on the assumption that only males do bad things? Cover charge was $ 5 per person, for everyone. We got in and the place was dead. There were perhaps 3 – 4 other customers, and about the same number of staff. This was after dinner on a Friday, when you would expect it to be busy. The DJ was spinning tunes for an empty dance floor. Drinks were priced similarly to top nightclubs in LA. If this place were in a major city like LA or San Francisco, it would do well. However, if I pay a $ 5 cover charge, I expect a good sized crowd to dance with. I’m not going to pay $ 8 for a drink when I could get the same thing at half the price anywhere else. We left about 30 minutes after we got there, and headed downtown to the Mint, where we had a blast.

Nice bar/club with a very modern look, music was GREAT& I agree it’s pretty cool how they play the music video to the song that’s playing well for the most part at least… Drinks were ok, for the price $ 9-$ 10 I would of expected a little better(glasses were bigger than usual but not enough alcohol) but I guess that’s about how much they range at bars/clubs. The bartenders need extensive training on good customer service, social skills something. The first bartender bald with glasses wasn’t friendly at all he looked like he was upset he had to be there and the other guy with drk. hair wasn’t any better either, the girl with short dark hair was the best … Overall a good experience, we had a great time and would go back again.

Went here on either a Friday or Saturday night with a bunch of friends. We stayed til closing time which I believe was 2am. It was crowded, but not overly so. There’s dancing and good music. It’s loud, but you don’t have to yell to talk to your friends. Didn’t have any alcohol cause I already had a lot to drink by the time we got there so I don’t know how much the drinks were. Recommended as a place to come to hangout with friends.

I am new to Bakersfield and I am looking for places to chill and dance during the week. I have been to Sky bar three times on thursday nights and it is a thursday night review only. People slowly start filtering in around 10 and at 11, it suddenly gets a little crowded which is good. The bar is a ldecent sized with nice lights and a clean dance floor. the drinks are cheap.[ I am used to LA and SF prices so drinks in bakersfield are super cheap] The music is pumping my then and the music selection is pretty good. The bouncers are professional. I haven’t seem them very intrusive and I noticed that they are respectful. so if you live in bakersfield and want to shake your ass and get down on the dance floor on a thursday night, I would recommend skybar.

I’m a single guy and for some reason I always do really well at this bar. Go on Saturday Night when there is a 10 dollar cover charge for guys and the girls can get in for free. Guys trust me it is worth it. Pretty nice inside and has a lot of people, but isn’t crowded. The drinks are around 8 bux each, but are tall and pretty strong if you are tipping your bartender.

I went this last Thursday with a group of friends to watch Dev perform. The cover charge was only $ 5 which was really reasonable. We were all pretty impressed with the decorations because it is actually nicer than what we had expected. There was plenty of seating areas, and it looked like you could purchase bottle service. The radio advertises Thursdays as college night with first drinks being $ 1 and subsequent drinks being $ 3. Maybe because there was a performer they weren’t having those specials. There was only one bar tender so it took a while to get drinks. From what I saw prices broke down as follows: $ 9 Long Island ice teas, AMFs, and Lemon Drops, $ 5 Jagerbombs, Prince Alberts, and shots. The venue is actually pretty cool for concerts because we got there early so I was like the second person from the stage(AWESOME). They have a DJ who actually takes requests with the accompanying video playing on various flat screen TVs. I would definitively go again we had lots of fun.

One of Bakersfield’s more chic and modern bars. Great for a date or for a night out with friends. And I believe they have karaōke on Wed. It’s got an L.A. vibe just like the Padre.

Decided to give this place a whirl after hearing some radio promos. Overall the place neither completely disappointed or wow’d me. It was nice to actually have somewhere to sit without being bothered. Ambiance/Décor — Nice, spacious, plenty of seating, Drinks — Well priced(per my friend), Gave free drinks to DD = A+ on their part Music — I liked it, with music videos to match. Dance Floor — err… tough call, maybe cause i have no shame but people seemed way to uptight when I got there to dance and were very hesitant to boogie with it. Then on the other end of the spectrum some people were going buck wild. There’s potential but as of right now may only return if friends want to give it another go.

I rarely review a place upon its opening night but in this case, their story needs to be told. I’m a fan of upcoming upscale lounges the world over, Bakersfield has LONGNEEDED an establishment of this caliber. At first glance you can see the attention to upscale décor, liquors well displayed and top shelf bottles readily accessible. You enter a palatial décor yet welcoming with trendy furnishings, large screen TV’s and an open stage/dance floor area… sure to be a hit in the local area thereby eliminating the need to travel downtown for a night out for those who know how to dress up for an evening. The staff was professional and speedy, we never waited more than a few seconds for a refill. Sure, it was opening night, crowded and a bit hectic yet from my point of view, a smooth operation. Al in all, a fantastic addition to Bakersfield’s higher class lounges and a necessity in their local area.
