Went on my birthday with a reservation. We were seated at the bar. We asked for a table and were rudely refused. We were told only parties of over 3 or more could use the tables since they were booked up. This was at 5pm on a weeknight. The place was empty with all but 2 tables being used. The staff of high school kids made no apologies, offered no solutions, or consolations or even cared at all. We walked out. Apparently the Crystal Palace doesn’t need my business as I will never step foot in the place again.

Met at the door by a gaggle of 16 yr old girls(6) with no restaurant experience. Went for the brunch and was very excited because from past experience I know the diner menu has been very good. We were told we would have to wait for a table, curious because the restaurant was half empty. Then as the other patrons with parties of two –seven were escorted and sat., could not understand why we were told to wait. My guest and I were finally sat in the middle of two large families with kids. SERVICESUCKED. Food was mediocre for the price. Bakersfield its as much the service as it is food quality, Get a clue.

Arrived for dinner about an hour after they opened Sat March 6th/2010. Sorry, were out of limes for your Corona. Sorry, the bartender gave me Gilbey’s gin rather than the Sapphire gin you ordered, is that OK with you he asked? No! Okay, guess I’ll have to sell it to someone else. Enormous chicken fried steak($ 19.95) was fair but that and everything else on the plate was luke warn at best. My friends dinner of ribs were tasty but also only warm. Music was good but you can tell by everything else that Ol Buck has departed as he would never allow mediocre food and service. Also our waiter should find another job, perhaps with the circus wearing one of those red balls on his nose and big red lips.
